Mysterious Mr.Richard novel Chapter 121

Adriana was best at using her meekness and tears as her weapon. She knew that this was a woman's specialty.

She had always been using this on Richard for the past few years.

Adriana and Pearl were two completely different people and Richard was well aware. After Pearl disappeared, he was simply angry at the past. He ended up looking for someone who was completely different from her.

The result was that he may even think it's true as time passes by.

Truth be told, he was indifferent towards women who excessively showed their weakness. He felt Adriana's tears annoying.

"The wedding won't be cancelled" his voice was not loud, but there was a hint of coldness in it.

Pausing for a moment, Adriana cried out at once.

Richard frowned and became a bit impatient. Then he gave her some tissue.

"Thanks." Adriana lowered her head to wipe away her tears. From the corner of her eyes, she noticed Richard's expression.

After the car had driven for a while, Adriana got what she wanted and did not plan to say anything else.

"You often go to Yoreast Hills Garden these days?"

Richard's voice sounded within the car. There was no emotion in it.

Adriana carefully said 'Yes'.

"Did the person there her to you?"

"Her?" Adriana's heart skipped a beat. "Who are you talking about?"

"Pearl."

Adriana clenched her fists, saying, "No, I don't think your family knows what happened to Pearl, do they?"

"My mom never mentioned her in front of you?"

Adriana shook her head, "Yes. Why?"

Seeing that Adriana seemed not to lie, he said, "Nothing. I was just asking."

Richard could not forget what Ethan told him in the hospital that day. Seven years ago, the person behind the incident was related to the Zellweger family.

In September, the university arranged four lessons for Pearl each week.

In the first class, Pearl wrote one word on the whiteboard: 'value'.

"Today is your first compulsory class on cardiology theory. I'm your lecturer, Pearl Yonng. We'll talk about this word today."

The students in her class were all freshmen and had occupied half of the small auditorium. These freshmen were passionate about medicine. Most of them would end up in the medical care industry eventually.

"What do you think is the value of your life?" She asked.

"The value of my life is to be a good doctor, to cure diseases and save lives." One student said.

Another replied, "My value is to actualise my dreams in life."

Some were utilitarians, "The medical industry will always be on the rise. I want to gain success in this path."

...

"You all have your own understanding of value. Everyone's understanding of value is different. There is no standard answer. But what I want to discuss today is the value of being a doctor."

...

"Which of these two doctors do you think is more valuable? A doctor who has published books, or a barefooted doctor who does house to house visitations in poor areas?"

Those students all had different answers.

"Of course, it's the doctor who has published books and articles."

"Is there a distinction based on value? If there is none, then is there a difference between saving one life and saving 10,000 lives? As long as we work hard, according to our best abilities, can we say that his value is not as high?" Pearl asked.

Those students fell silent.

"Alright," Pearl smiled, "I just wanted to share my views with you. All of us sitting here will definitely become doctors in the future. What kind of doctor you want to depend on where you think your value can be actualised."

...

After the class was over, Pearl opened the bottle of water and took a sip. She took a look at her phone and noticed there was a missed call from the dean.

"Hello? Dr. Morgan, I was in a class just now. What's going on?"

"No worries. Dr. Yonng, are you in a hurry to leave?"

"No," Pearl glanced at her watch, "Not in a hurry."

"Then please come to the office. Someone who wants to see you."

"Someone wants to meet me? Who?" Pearl was taken aback for a moment and said.

"You'll know when you get here," It seemed to be something good.

It was 12 o'clock in the afternoon and many students were heading to the canteen. Pearl was heading in the opposite direction so it was slightly difficult for her to get through.

When she arrived at the office, she was sweating all over.

Pearl knocked on the door, "Dr. Smith."

"The door isn't locked, come in." The dean's voice came from the inside.

As soon as she opened the door, Pearl was immediately startled at the sight of the figure, "Mrs Brown?"

Jasmine was Elaine's mother. Elaine was the girl whom she sent home that night. Today Jasmine looked simple, fresh, and artistic.

Jasmine hadn't expected Pearl to see her either.

"You two know each other?" The dean looked at them in surprise.

"We met once. Mrs. Brown's daughter came to the city hospital not long ago." Pearl explained.

Jasmine smiled, "Thank you, Dr. Yonng. I've never gotten the chance to express my gratitude."

"Isn't this a coincidence?" The dean clapped his hands and laughed heartily. "Mrs. Brown, the private family doctor that I wanted to introduce to you is Dr. Yonng. She is an expert in cardiology."

Upon hearing this, Pearl felt her heart tightened.

Ethan told her that the person who needed a family doctor was Richard's stepmother.

So that person was Mrs. Brown?
