Nobilis of War novel Chapter 1149

Everyone waited with baited breaths to hear the plan.

"It's very simple. If humans kill him, the guards of the Starry Sword Region may come to investigate. But, what if a beast kills him?" Aidan suggested with a sinister smile.

"Wow! That's an awesome idea!" The girl clapped and cheered.

"Ha-ha, you mean we can find a beast to kill him?

Do we dare to catch one? If we are discovered, the Ancestral Land might kill us," Scar said.

In the Primitive Wilderness, as the other races were stronger than the human race, an agreement was reached wherein humans would not kill members of the other races. If a human broke the terms of the deal, it would spark a war that would lead to annihilation.

Of course, there were exceptions to the agreement as some low-level members of other races didn't enjoy real protection.

However, the senior human leaders attached great significance to this agreement. Humans were forbidden from killing members of any other race. Even if their life was threatened, they could only flee.

This was why Scott had been punished for killing a spectral beast.

As they now had a new way, everyone was occupied with thoughts of how to get a beast to kill Darren.

"Scar, do you remember the beast that killed your father twenty years ago?" Since no one had any ideas, Aidan used this opportunity to remind them.

Scar's expression turned gloomy at the prompt.

Twenty years ago, when his father was cultivating away from home, he encountered an Iron Spine Beast. That beast mauled and ate his father.

When they arrived, all that was left of his father was a pile of blood and bones.

But they didn't dare to surround and kill the Iron Spine Beast. So, they lured it into the shadows, injured it, and captured it.

Over the past twenty years, the Iron Spine Beast had been locked in the cellar. Scar would send people to torture it to vent his hatred.

"Aidan, are you suggesting that we use the Iron Spine Beast?" the short man said.

"With my current ability, I can control it for about fifteen minutes. That should be enough time to kill that guy," Aidan answered with a confident nod.

"No, we can't." Scar shook his head.

He was worried that if they freed the beast, it would be hard for them to catch it again. Since using it to kill Darren would be equivalent to releasing his enemy, Scar was unwilling.

"Come on, Scar... Killing the brat with the Iron Spine Beast is our safest option. Think of how proud and happy it would make your father if you became a disciple of the Starry Sword Region."

"That's right." The girl encouraged, "You can leave a mark on that beast. When you become a core disciple of the Starry Sword Region, you can return and kill it for revenge. Then, even the Ancestral Land won't have a say in the matter."

On the other side, Darren and Elsa sat cross-legged in the stone house. They utilized every moment to cultivate.

Darren closed his eyes and activated his talent and assimilating power.

"Huh!"

Astonishment flooded him when he started his cultivation.

The power he felt was so pure it was incomparable to any other form of godly energy he had encountered. It was purer than the divine crystals he had absorbed in the Godly City!

'No wonder I have come across a warrior at the upper-level Primary God Realm in this wilderness. There is an abundant supply of godly energy here.'

Darren realized that the people who had lived in the Primitive Wilderness could freely absorb such a pure form of godly energy. Perhaps this was why even idiots could become upper-level gods after cultivating for a long time.

The Space Spirit had once said that when geniuses from the mortal worlds went to the Primitive Wilderness, their development potential was greater than that of local geniuses.

Why?

It was because the difficulty faced by a native warrior in the Primitive Wilderness when trying to reach the Spiritual God Realm was equivalent to that of a genius in the mortal world, who aspired to attain the Primary God Realm.

The Spiritual God Realm was second only to the Superior God Realm.

Darren had a profound understanding of the realm division in the Primitive Wilderness after reading the turtle shell.

There were four main god realms—the Primary God Realm, the Domain God Realm, the Star God Realm, and the Celestial God Realm. Each realm was divided into four levels—the low-level, middle-level, upper-level, and top-level.

The Spiritual God Realm was beyond the Celestial God Realm, but it was difficult for warriors to reach. Besides, there was the Superior God Realm. Lord Starry Sword had reached this realm. This was an astonishing feat as few warriors in the Primitive Wilderness could enter this realm.

Trillions of geniuses from the mortal worlds had gathered in the Primitive Wilderness for countless years. Even so, few could reach the Superior God Realm. You could see how hard it was!

Darren was now at the low-level of the Primary God Realm. However, with the help of the black god's power, he could display a middle-level primary god's strength.

'I am like an unpolished jade. Once I cultivate, my cultivation base will improve rapidly.'

Darren felt a noticeable improvement in his cultivation base after he had cultivated for a short while.

It was the same as grass that survived in barren land all year round, suddenly receiving empyrean dew. How could it not grow rapidly?

Darren didn't overthink. Instead, he focused his efforts on his cultivation.

The night passed without incident, and Darren sensed that he was about to reach the middle-level of the Primary God Realm!

Once he attained this level, the power of all his methods would increase dramatically. The blade and sword intents, in particular, would become stronger under the influence of the God Character.

If Darren integrated the god-level blade and sword intents, the dark golden god's power they produced would be enough to kill anyone at the middle-level of the Primary God Realm.

In addition, Darren had the mysterious black god's power. Once added, it would be possible for him to fight against an upper-level primary god!

Since he was so close to attaining the middle-level of the Primary God Realm, hope of survival blossomed within Darren.

"Howl!"

The next day at dawn, Darren heard a beast's roar.

However, when he flew out to investigate, everything was quiet. There were no signs that a beast had broken in.

"Good morning, Darren. Did you sleep well last night?"

The short young man greeted Darren with a smile.

"Yes," Darren replied with a smile.

"Let's eat together?"

"No, thanks. I ate a lot yesterday."

For warriors who had reached the God Realm like Darren, food was not a necessity for survival. People only ate when they wanted to indulge their senses.

"Well, then I will leave you and Elsa alone. By the way, we will hold a small sacrificial ceremony at noon. We'd like to invite you and Elsa. The function is being held to bring long-term luck. You won't refuse, will you?" the short man said.

Darren sneered in his heart and thought, 'You finally take action!'

"Of course, I'll be there by noon."

"I'm glad to hear that. Darren, thank you so much." The short man expressed his gratitude and left.

Darren returned to the room.

"Elsa, they are going to do something. You need to hide your soul and let the immortal control the body," Darren warned Elsa.

Although Elsa's soul could also control the immortal's body, the strength she unleashed was much weaker than the immortal's.

"Okay, but you must be careful." Elsa agreed.

"I will. Don't worry. I'll try my best to reach the middle-level of the Primary God Realm before noon." The confidence in Darren's words relieved Elsa's concerns.

After the soul exchange, the expression on the immortal's face turned cold.

"What are you doing?"

Darren exclaimed. To his surprise, once the immortal took control of her body, she wrapped her slender arms around his waist and brought her beautiful face close to Darren.
