“How is this possible!” Dr. Marcus’s eyes were wide open. Was the kid right? Was the old man going to die because of this?

No, he couldn’t let them find out he didn’t know what to do.

Dr. Marcus calmed himself down and finished his two other moves. The man stopped vomiting blood and he seemed to get better.

“Oh, he’s better now. I was nearly scared to death back then.”

The doctors were whispering to each other but none of them found out that he still wasn’t breathing.

“Something’s wrong. Why is his heart not beating anymore? Dr. Marcus, what happened?”

Dr. Marcus shook his head and sighed, “There is nothing I can do now. It was too late.”

Selena took a step back and couldn’t believe that the old man was dead.

Her heart was aching. She still hadn’t found the old man’s family. But there was no use for that. He was already dead.

Calvin saw the man’s soul sitting on the bed again. He rushed to him and choked his throat.

The Yin-Yang Compass started swirling and the white light slowly flowed into the old man’s body.

His soul was still struggling and resisted being in this body.

Calvin mustered all his power and there wasn’t enough white light to confine the man’s soul and stop it from escaping the body.

“What are you doing? He’s gone. Stop doing that to his body.”

From the doctors’ perspective, Calvin’s face distorted and he was trying to choke the old man like he was his nemesis.

Calvin ignored them and had no time to waste. The old man was in a very bad condition and his soul was no longer in his body.

The Yin-Yang Compass was running out of energy and he couldn’t use the white light anymore.

Was there really no way out?

And then, a golden light came and he saw a line of golden letters which indicated that the Soul Hook could save the man.

The Soul Hook? Dr. Marcus just used that and it caused blood loss.

Calvin was still in shock. And then a golden light went straight into his head and he knew everything about the Soul Hook now.

Seeing that Calvin was emotionless, Selena called his name gently, “Calvin, let go of him.”

Calvin came to his senses and grabbed Dr. Marcus’s tools.

Dr. Marcus gasped, “What are you doing? Stop insulting the corpse! Why are you still standing there? Stop him!”

The doctors all came at Calvin. In their mind, Calvin was a soulless monster.

“I don’t care if I’ll get arrested today. I’m gonna kick your ass!”

Calvin’s left hand stopped the doctors and his right hand worked his magic on the man’s forehead.

And it worked immediately.

The man’s soul was nailed onto his forehead. It started twisting but couldn’t struggle out of this.

Calvin freed his hands and yelled, “Get off of me! Stop getting in the way!”

Selena was stunned, “Calvin, what do you mean? You can save him?”

“Don’t let them interrupt me and he will come back to life.”

The soul was extremely vulnerable. Once it escaped the body, it would fade away and break into pieces.

Dr. Marcus snorted, “Don’t believe him. Even the Soul Hook couldn’t save him. How could he do that?”

Calvin ground his teeth and said, “That’s because you’re doing it wrong.”

“What did you say? How dare you say that about the Soul Hook!”

Calvin didn’t want to be polite anymore, “Watch and learn. I’ll only do it once. How much you get to learn this depends on whether you’re gifted or not.”

After saying that, he started using the Soul Hook on the man’s forehead.

The doctors were going to stop him but then Dr. Marcus waved at them, “Wait!”

He stared at Calvin and found out he was really using the Soul Hook.

“You bastard dared to stole that from me! I won’t let you get out of this easily.”

Calvin ignored him and paid all of his attention on the tools in his hand.

Calvin did what The Yin-Yang Compass told him to do and conveyed the white light into the man’s body.

Then the old man’s entire body was shimmering.

The Soul Hook formed a pattern and connected every part of his body and brought him back to life.

The soul was backed inside his body and his temperature was getting higher now.

Calvin stood there and the dynamic electrocardioscanner was indicating that the man’s heart was still not beating.

Dr. Marcus was relieved. How could Calvin steal the Soul Hook from him and do better than he could?

“What else do you have to say now? Miss Bentley, you brought him here. You should be the one to deal with him.”

Selena didn’t know what to do now. She blamed it on herself and questioned why she trusted him so much. Maybe he was just lucky last time and saved the old man. Maybe the old man was destined not to die that day.

Rita burst through the door. She was standing outside the whole time and knew what happened in here.

“Calvin, why are you still lying? Apologize now.”

Dr. Marcus said coldly, “Apology is useless. He committed a crime. You can look it up yourself. How many years does he have to serve in prison after insulting a corpse?”

Rita took a few steps back and got mad. She had warned Calvin so many times not to be a hero. Why couldn’t he just listen to her?

She knew he was trying to prove that he was not a loser. But that required strength, not force.

This time, she didn’t know how to save him from this mess and she didn’t want to do that anymore. She was sick and tired of this.

Calvin looked at Rita. He was kind of touched when she barged in for him.

“I need a few minutes.”

“The Soul Hook has already confined his soul and it has already gone back to his body. This would take a while.”

Calvin’s words were quite mysterious and the doctors couldn’t believe that.

“Miss Bentley, he is lying. He’s trying to get out of this by saying that.”

“Don’t trust him. He’s a good liar. Don’t be fooled by him.”

“Just call the police. He deserves to be put into prison.”

Calvin didn’t react to them at all. All he cared about was Selena’s decision on this.

Selena was moved by the confidence in his eyes. She was frowning, from which he could tell she was struggling inside.

Rita turned to Selena and said, “Miss Bentley, he’s my husband and I know what he is capable of. He did too many wrong things today. Miss Bentley, please forgive him...”

“Let’s wait a few minutes.”

Everyone in the room was stunned.

But Calvin smiled. She was the only that could get him.

Rita was so shocked that she couldn’t even utter a single word. Selena just met Calvin. Why would she trust him so much?

Rita was annoyed by this somehow and didn’t feel comfortable about this.

Calvin made sure that the soul was back in the man’s body. The next step was the most essential part.

He took out the tools on the man’s body.

The Soul Hook had nine moves and they were all coherent.

It was his first time to do this so he wasn’t so sure.

Now it was time to witness the miracle.

He calmed himself down and took out one tool, and it was nothing.

The second one was the same

Dr. Marcus snorted, “Let’s see what else you’ve got.”

The third one was pulled out and the monitoring equipment reacted to it.

“Look...” Someone gasped.

Selena looked up and found out the man’s heart started beating again.

“Calvin...” Selena didn’t know how to explain what she was feeling right now. She covered her mouth and didn’t want to interrupt him.

Calvin was finally confident and pulled out three more tools and the man came back to life.

“He’s alive...This is unbelievable.”

Selena couldn’t hold back her tears anymore and hugged Calvin.

“Calvin, thank you so much...”
