Not Again Mr Whitney novel Chapter 21

Rita was holding her coffee and was about to walk into the elevator. Then Vincent came out.

“Why are you here? He didn’t agree?”

Vincent was gasping and he looked at her with yearning in his eyes.

“It’s not what you think. After you left the room, I talked him into reconsidering the cooperation and told him all about our clinic. He’s finally impressed. Now you come up there with me and we can sign the contract.”

“Really?” Rita found it unbelievable. Back when she was still in his office, Paul didn’t seem to be like that.

“Oh, are you thirsty? Drink some water, here you are.”

“I’m good. I just got myself a cup of coffee. Let’s go.”

Vincent squeezed on that bottle of water and then took that cup of coffee from Rita, “You bought this for me, right? You can have this water.”

As the elevator climbing up, the air seemed to get thinner.

Rita held the bottle and wanted to unscrew the cap.

Vincent gazed at her with his mouth open. His heart was pounding loud.

Open it and drink! Now!

Just as Rita was about to open the bottle, the door opened and something flew in and hit her on her wrist.

“Ahhh...” Rita screamed and the bottle of water was dropped onto the floor.

“Calvin? What the hell? Why did you throw that at me?”

Vincent didn’t expect to see Calvin standing in front of Paul’s office. He felt kind of guilty and was afraid to get caught.

“Calvin, when...when did you come here?”

Calvin ignored him and stared at Rita, “Why couldn’t I throw it at you? Why did you come here with him and didn’t even think about informing me?”

Rita enfolded her wrist painfully. Her eyes flashed with anger.

In the past few years, Calvin hadn’t even said anything harsh to her, let alone use violence against her.

And now he dared to hit her with a water bottle.

“Why can’t I come here with him? He can help me, can you? Do you know Mr. Bradford? Do you have any idea how many people came here to seek cooperation?”

“Who are you to throw a tantrum at me? If you are really capable, would I need to tolerate his harassment? How dare you be mad at me?”

“Why are you for now? Vincent has already made the deal.”

Calvin paused, “Already? Seems impossible. Vincent, how did you convince Mr. Bradford? Did you promise to do something for him?”

Vincent was rattled. Did Calvin overhear everything?

No, he was just bluffing. Don’t panic.

“Why do you look so guilty?”

Vincent felt quite uneasy when Calvin was just staring at him. He picked up a bottle and drank a mouthful of water.

By the time he swallowed it, he found out there was another bottle on the floor, which was exactly the same as the one he was holding.

Crap. Did he just drink the wrong one...

No way.

Seeing that Vincent had drunk that water, Calvin gave a subtle smile.

Rita got furious when she saw him smile like that, “Calvin, good for you. Fine, I know you want a divorce as soon as possible and you don’t care about me at all. I won’t let you get your way. I’m not gonna sigh this contract.”

Then, Rita walked back into the elevator.

Calvin turned around and looked at Vincent. He was grinning at him, which crept Vincent out.

“What...what are you laughing at?”

“Nothing. Are you feeling thirsty?”

Hearing that, Vincent did feel kind of thirsty.

“What’s happening? Why am I so hot? Water, I need water.”

Calvin passed him the drugged water and Vincent chugged all of it.

“Water, I want more.”

Vincent’s whole body turned red and he was sweating so heavily like he was fresh out of water.

“You want more water? Okay, I’ll take you to a place where there is a whole lot of water.”

The second Calvin’s hand touched Vincent, he growled like a cat, which scared Calvin away.

“This drug is intense.”

“Baby, why are you so far away from me? Get closer to me. Let me give you a big kiss.”

Vincent was coming at him and Calvin jumped aside. But Vincent was still running after him.

Calvin ran to Paul’s office and then turned to Vincent.

“Stop running...Come on...”

Vincent’s mouth was wide open and he kept drooling. His clothes were already torn apart in a mess.

Vincent was about to grab Calvin and then Calvin dodged him. Bang! Vincent’s head knocked hard on the wooden door and he rolled into Paul’s office.

Calvin stood at the door and smiled wickedly at Paul, who was sitting in the couch in his underpants, getting ready.

“Vincent, where is she? Why the hell are you here?”

“Vincent, are you fucking crazy? Let go of me!”

“Somebody, help! Get this manic out of here!”

“Ahhh...My ass...”

Calvin shut the door and crossed his heart.

“Amen, this is brutal...”

The drug was indeed too strong. Calvin checked the time and Paul had been screaming in the past thirty minutes.

“Wanna lay a finger on my wife? This is your punishment.”

But Calvin knew that after this chaos, there was no hope for the cooperation.

When he was about to go home, a group of people came this way.

“Calvin? Why are you here?”

It was Selena. Calvin came forward, “It was about yesterday’s deal. Mr. Bradford was too busy and we couldn’t make it. So I come here again today.”

“Alright, then take me to him. Maybe I can help.”

Of course Calvin would be glad to do that, but now...

“It might not be a good time for Mr. Bradford.”

The middle-aged man beside Selena turned to a young man, “Nick, is Mr. Bradford having a guest over in his office?”

Calvin stared at Nick. He was quite a good-looking man. Who would know he was actually a jackass?

“Well...Mr. Bradford is...”

“What are you hiding? What is he doing right now?”

Nick couldn’t just tell him that Paul drugged a female customer during business hours and was having a good time right now.

Nick wouldn’t tell them the truth and Selena knew she was onto something.

“Mr. Small, seems like there’s a lot of problems going on in the management staff of Chelston Healthcare.”

Harry Small was embarrassed. He said hastily, “Miss Bentley, rest assured. Even if there are some people who don’t follow the rules, we’re just fired them. Please don’t lower down your expectations of Chelston Healthcare. You, over there, get Paul out of his office.”

Several people went forward and got in. They all froze when they saw what was happening in there.

“Why are you still standing there? Where’s Paul?”

“Mr. Small...Take a look for yourself.”

Harry walked down there and Selena wanted to follow him. But Calvin gave her a look and stopped her.

“Paul Bradford...”

Harry’s roar startled everyone.

The next thing they knew, Paul showed up. He crawled up to the door.

“Mr. Small, it’s not what you think it is...”

“Baby, don’t go. I’m not done yet...”

Harry turned his back against him and ground his teeth. Selena hurriedly turned around and then glared at Calvin.

“You did that?”

“Miss Bentley, don’t get me wrong. I know absolutely nothing.”

Harry came over apologetically, “Miss Bentley, I’m terribly sorry about that. I shouldn’t let you see such a horrible scene. It’s all my fault. How about this? I can take a step back on the acquisition price.”

Selena was a little pleased, “Only one step? Mr. Small, I’m afraid this is gonna hurt you.”

Harry gazed at Paul angrily. Paul just lowered his head and didn’t dare to look him in the eyes.

“Fine. From now on, Chelston Healthcare is under the control of Miss Bentley. I believe you will make this company soar in the future!”

Calvin rubbed his nose and felt like he helped Selena one more time.
