One Night Stand novel Chapter 46

Javier’s POV

Javier has never been one to attend workplace functions. He always delegated that responsibility to Ethan. The guy was icy and disliked everyone around him. He was distant and standoffish to his employees. They were all frightened of him. He realized that if he went to the gathering, they wouldn’t be able to do everything they wanted, so he turned down Ethan’s invitation immediately. But Ethan didn’t give up; he was tenacious. Javier knew fully that he stood out like a sore thumb in the business. He ultimately consented because of his propensity for skipping workplace events. Ethan then revealed that they were headed to a karaoke bar. Javier’s face immediately froze.

“Do you expect me to deal with such nonsense?”

“You said you were going, remember?” Ethan asked, chuckling. Javier let out a sigh and shook his head.

Ethan was a more outgoing person than Javier. Javier was more focused on business. But has never been good with his workers. He disliked striking up a conversation with any of them. He didn’t despise them. The guy was a lone gunman who was also reserved. They made their way to the club.

When they entered the club, they saw a lovely, clothed girl waving at the entrance and shouting for Javier. When Javier saw Sandra, he was taken aback. This is going to be a lot of fun, he thought to himself.

Sandra seemed to be really attractive. She wore a short waistcoat and a hemline. She fascinated all the male workers, emphasizing her hourglass form. Sandra stepped forwards and grabbed Javier’s shoulder as soon as they went in. She attempted to grin warmly with her crimson lips, but all she got was a disdainful glare tinged with a range of emotions. The guy responded rudely.

“ Next time, keep your hands to yourselves.” Sandra was embarrassed and humiliated. Javier exited and entered the private room that Ethan had provided for him.

“What are you doing here, Sandria? Only Hills employees have access to this. You do not work for the Hills.” Ethan was curious.

“The more the merrier,” I reasoned, so I might as well join in on the fun. Sandra smiled seductively as her gaze t over everyone. “I’m not unwanted, am I?”

Everyone was dazed and instantly answered,

“Of course not!” They couldn’t help but notice Javier’s gloomy expression.

Everyone was singing and drinking to their hearts’ delight in the karaoke private area. Javier, on the other hand, seemed uninterested in any of this. He was pleased when, after a few drinks, his employees warmed up and forget he was even there. While Ethan was singing, he sat quietly in a corner. His gaze was fixed on his phone, and he was beaming. Jealousy walked all over Sandra, something Sandra had never seen Javier do before. Her gaze was drawn to the tumbler of vodka Javier was drinking. She sniggered. All she wanted was for Javier to move for a moment.

Javier’s thoughts were elsewhere. It was at home with his soon-to-be wife and son. While Xander was baking, they sent him photographs. And a video of him begging his father to be the first to try what he’d baked. That’s what kept the guy happy the whole time, surprise his staff given how seldom the man smiled. When his phone rang, he exited the room to answer it.

Javier was on a video conversation with his little family when Sandra stepped outside and scowled. She waited for him to conclude the conversation when she noticed him, busy smiling. The guy glanced at his lady and said,

“I love you, Mrs. Hills,” just before the phone conversation ended.

“I love you, even more, Mr. Hills.” We’re both aware of how video calls might be excessively loud, and Sandra heard the discussion. She was enraged because the guy had never expressed his feelings for her. She was fueled by anger as she stared at the guy. Just then, she saw him blowing a kiss to his new woman and ended the call. She altered her feelings quickly, as if she hadn’t been irritated for a minute. And replaced it all with a grin. Then she went up to Javier.

“Hello there, stranger.” Javier came to a halt and stared at the lady as if she were staring at rubbish. He twitched his brows and stared at her from head to toe. Sandra could tell the man was sickened by her nearness before he could say anything. So she went on,

“Sincere congratulations. I hope you are content.”

“mmm, I love my wife,” Javier said after warming up a little.

After hearing it, Sandra felt as though her heart was being torn apart.

Sandra’s POV

I couldn’t believe this guy. He dared to tell me he loved his wife.

Who am I, a stone devoid of emotions? Was it really necessary for him to tell me that, or was it just a cautionary tale that he was going to marry someone else?

After recalling what she had done inside, she brushed everything aside. After all, we are making a baby tonight. She chuckled at the concept.

“You must really love your woman, Javier.” The guy scoffed as she stated this. Then, with a smile, she responded,

“Of course, she’s my son’s mother. Why am I unable to love her? She’s amazing and just what my soul requires.” He glanced at the clock and then at Sandra, saying,

“I’m going inside.”

“Of course, go ahead.” Javier walked away. Sandra yelled angrily at the top of her lungs. He dares to tell me how much he likes his fiance.

What kind of person does he believe I am?

She was pounding the exterior wall of the private room. When her gaze fell on Ethan, he sneered and walked inside. They dared to mock me. She straightened her skirt and stepped inside. Then she saw Javier sipping the vodka he’d left behind. Her face lit up with a wide grin.

That’s it, boy, that’s it, drink up. Tonight is just going to be about you and me.
