Out Of Nowhere: Boss, Let Me Go novel Chapter 40

Walking out of the cabin, Ethan slowed down his pace on purpose.

Sure enough, there seemed to be faint black shadows flashing in the garden.

After turning a path and walking to a place with bright light, a small black figure rolled over to Ethan.

"Father."

The soft voice of a child sounded crisp in the night.

The corners of Ethan's mouth moved upward, which was unique only in front of this little kid.

"Pumpkin. It's so dark outside. Why do you come out? There are so many delicious food in the room. Why don't accompany your grandma."

His voice was full of love.

"I don't want to be inside. Dad, they are so strange. They are all holding wine glasses and talking. Those aunts are so strange. Their clothes are full of holes, and even their backs are outside. They are ugly. Aren't they cold?"

Hearing Pumpkin's words, Ethan's smile deepened. He picked Pumpkin up. Only an innocent child could say such sweet words.

"I think my mother is more beautiful."

All of a sudden, Pumpkin uttered these words, with a thoughtful look on his face.

Ethan was confused by his words.

"Your mother?"

"Yes, father. You said my mother went abroad. She is back now, isn't she? Why didn't you tell me? Humph. You are a bad dad. I won't talk to you anymore."

The excitement in the beginning faded away, and Pumpkin was angry with Ethan.

"Are you angry?" Ethan leaned over and teased him.

Pumpkin turned his face aside and pouted.

Ethan smiled in his heart.

It must be Old Mrs. Huo. She must be kidding in front of Pumpkin when she saw that Joana come back and wanted them to get married as soon as possible.

However, Pumpkin was the only descendant of his brother. Ethan couldn't let him be wronged.

"Pumpkin, do you like your mother?"

"Yes, I like it. Pumpkin likes Mommy very much. She is so beautiful with a red face."

Thinking of Cindy, Pumpkin felt excited and his face lit up. Even his black eyes lit up.

Ethan only said it was Joana, but he was still surprised. He had just gone out for a short time, but when did Joana win this little guy's heart?

However, what Pumpkin said next made him even more surprised.

"Dad, take me to mom. I haven't seen mom for a long time. I miss her." Pumpkin raised his head and looked at Ethan seriously.

Looking for his mother?

Miss her?

Haven't seen?

Ethan was messed up by Pumpkin.

'Is he sick?

He touched Pumpkin's forehead.

Nothing unusual?

"Mr. Will, come down. Look at your shoes. Your father's clothes are dirty." Lily ran all the way here and shouted from afar.

Pumpkin didn't respond. Instead, he wriggled in Ethan's arms and complained. He kept asking Ethan to take him to his mother.

Lily ran over and took Ethan from Pumpkin. "Mr. Ethan, let me do it."

"Lily, call Dr. Ye and ask him to check if Pumpkin is sick or not. He is talking nonsense."

"No, no, I don't want Doctor Ye. I want my mother."

Pumpkin shouted, shaking his head like a rattle drum.

Every time Dr. Ye came to see him, something bad would happen. Although he was young, he remembered it clearly.

Lily coaxed Pumpkin and smiled at Ethan, "it doesn't matter. Since he met Miss Cindy that day, Mr. Will has been like this for the past few days. He's been asking for mom."

Miss Cindy?

Noticing the confusion in Ethan's eyes, Lily told Ethan everything that Pumpkin saw Cindy that morning.

Why does it have something to do with Cindy again?

It seemed that they were destined to be together.

Suddenly, Ethan was overjoyed.

Cindy, you can't escape. This is your fate.

"Pumpkin, do you really miss your mother?" An imperceptible sly smile flashed across Ethan's lips.

"Okay."

Will nodded heavily and replied loudly.

"Okay. Now go back with Lily. Be a good boy. Daddy will take you to see Mommy tomorrow, okay?" Then he touched Pumpkin's chubby face.

It worked better than anything else.

As soon as Ethan finished his words, Pumpkin immediately covered his mouth with his hands. Seeing that, both Ethan and Lily couldn't help laughing.

The hall of the Huo family was still lively.

Stepping into it, Ethan seemed to have entered another world.

"Ring, ring, ring..."

The clear alarm clock rang especially abruptly in the quiet morning.

Cindy lay on the bed and pressed the alarm clock.

She was too tired these days.

She wanted to sleep a little longer.

In a daze, Cindy suddenly woke up.

Eight o'clock?

With sleepy eyes, she looked up at the number on the alarm clock and jumped out of bed.

Damn!!

Today was the morning shift. The doctors should make the rounds of the wards at half past eight.

'Oh my God! If I am late, my bonus will be gone.'

After washing up, she grabbed her backpack and went out.

Just then, a taxi came.

Cindy waved her hand. Before the car stopped, Cindy got into it.

"Master, the No.2 People's Hospital. I'm in a hurry." Sitting in the back seat, Cindy told the driver the address in a hurry.

The taxi sped along the way to the hospital.

Sweat trickled down Cindy's forehead. When she ran to her office, the clock on the nursing station had just reached half past eight.

Cindy smiled at Head Nurse, out of breath.

"I'm not late, am I?"

"How can you joke like that?"

The Head Nurse turned her head to look at the clock. She couldn't help but smile when she saw Cindy.

"Then I'm going to change my clothes." Cindy held the table in the nursing station, out of breath.

Lena just came from the dressing room and was surprised to see Cindy.

"Sister Cindy, what's wrong with you?"

Cindy was too tired to say anything. She just shook her hand.

"Look at her, Head Nurse." Lena and Head Nurse looked at each other and smiled.

At this time, Cindy's phone rang.

"Sister Cindy, is it time for you to change your ringtone. Who else uses it now?" Lena teased and began to work.

Cindy was stunned.

The ringtone was chosen by Ethan. Cindy had been using it for a long time and had been used to it, so she didn't notice anything wrong.

"Cindy, what are you thinking about? Answer it quickly." The Head Nurse's words interrupted Cindy's thoughts.

She quickly took out her phone.

"Hello?"
