Please Be Gentle With Me Mr Grant novel Chapter 154

She was very upset right now. Besides, she wore high heels all night and had sore feet. She held on to the wall to steady herself as she walked slowly. Just thinking about being left alone by Matthew, her discontent was increased.

“You’re so unreliable, Matthew,” she murmured. She didn’t have much money with her. So, she would most likely live on the streets this night. She dug around in her bag for money, looking extremely sulky.

“Miss, why do you stand here alone? Come on, have a drink with me,” a man’s voice said behind her.

Blanca was startled. She turned, and saw a man standing behind her. He was in an expensive suit, with two glasses of champagne in his hands. Blanca knew the people who came to the party were all dignitaries, so, she sure could not afford to offend him. She shook her head politely and said, “Thank you, but I can’t drink.”

The man looked displeased. “No? Miss, are you kidding me? You know what? This is very insulting.”

Blanca frowned, for she knew she got a problem. She didn’t like drinking with a strange man, but the man wasn’t going to stop.

“Oh, come on. Look, one drink, OK?” In one quick motion, the man gave Blanca a glass of champagne. Blanca did not have much experience of the world and didn’t know how to deal with it at all.

The man was in his early 30s and his clothes were all very expensive. Blanca didn’t know his identity, but she knew she shouldn’t get into trouble. She nodded and said, “Well, just one drink.” When she took a drink, the man’s face broke into a sly grin.

On the second-floor balcony, a pretty girl watched what happened to Blanca. That was Malinda and she looked really glamorous at this moment. She kept her eyes fixed on Blanca with a triumphant smile.

“What are you doing here, Malinda? Let’s go dance,” said a familiar voice from behind Malinda. She turned back and found Louise walking towards her. Louise’s bottom wiggled as she walked. She had been looking for Malinda downstairs for a long time and finally found her on the second floor. Louise was curious why Malinda stayed here, because Malinda liked noisy party but this floor was obviously a bit too quiet for her.

Louise walked into the balcony, but Malinda got in front of her. She didn’t want Louise to see what was happening to Blanca. She thought this was just not the right time.

“I felt a little boring and I need some fresh air,” said Malinda with a smile. She sighed, and asked, “How’s Matthew’s relationship with Blanca, Louise? I remember you were very fond of him.”

As Malinda expected, anger flashed in Louise’s dark eyes immediately. Louise had loved Matthew for a long time and had tried her best to seduce him, but she didn’t expect Blanca to butt in. She hated Blanca, for Blanca took what might have been hers. She said through gritted teeth, “Her name makes me sick! I hate that bitch. Her good days are numbered here anyway, because dumb luck always runs out. I believe Matthew will get sick of her soon.”

Malinda listened and a grin flitted across her face. She looked down at Blanca and thought the good part was coming up.
