Looking at Malinda’s genuine smile, Matthew couldn’t see into her soul. He frowned and took the pendant. After looking at it carefully, he found it was Blanca’s. “You found this in your house?” Matthew asked, suspicious.

“Yes. Maybe when you and Blanca came to my house for the party the other day, she dropped it. Well, apparently, it was just a misunderstanding. I hope it won’t affect the relationship between you and Louise. Oh, by the way, ask Blanca to keep it well,” Malinda said with a big smile.

“OK. I will.” Matthew knew it was not that simple, but luckily, the pendant was intact. So, he was going to let that go.

Louise tried to say something, but Malinda stopped her and pulled her away. As soon as they walked out of the office, Louise shook off Malinda’s hand. “Why did you give it back to Blanca? I got it with tremendous effort! Even Clark is still missing!”

“Just stop!” Malinda interrupted. “Keep your voice down, or everyone knows your secret.”

Louise realized her foolishness. She looked around cautiously and lowered her voice. “What the hell, Malinda? Why…”

“Don’t ask. I really know what I’m doing.” Malinda interrupted her, stepping inside an elevator. Louise did not speak and hurried to keep up. As the doors closed, Blanca came out of another elevator, with a lunch box in her hand. She walked in silence to the door of Matthew’s office, where she stopped and hesitated for a moment. Finally, she knocked on the door.

“Come in,” came Matthew’s voice from the office. Blanca took a deep breath. Then she pushed open the door and went in. Matthew was sitting on a sofa. Blanca gave a slight cough and said, “Er, Mrs. Brown asked me to bring you lunch.”

Matthew raised his head and his eyes fell on Blanca. Blanca was embarrassed and tried to avoid his eyes. She went to a table, putting the lunch box on it. “Come and get it. And, er, thank you, really, for Louise’s apology. Okay, well, I’d better go.”

“Wait.” When Blanca was just leaving, Matthew stopped her. Blanca turned and they looked at each other for a moment. Until Blanca blushed, Matthew opened his hand, her pendant lying on his palm. “Here you are.”

Blanca looked brightly at the pendant and almost jumped in surprise. She dashed over to Matthew and took her pendant. She studied it carefully, looking almost painfully excited. “Great! Where did you find it?” She was so pleased to get it back so unexpectedly, even forget about all the crap happened these days.

Blanca was absolutely ecstatic. Looking at her, Matthew’s lips arched into a smile. Then he told Blanca Malinda’s words. Blanca listened and seemed to be deep in thought. She knew exactly she hadn’t lost her pendant in the party, but she didn’t say it. After all, her pendant came back. That was what was important. “Good. I’m glad you found it.”
