Matthew had been very swamped with work at the Empire group. A lot of employees relied on Matthew and the business, after all, he didn’t have much time to take enough rest.

 

He went straight back to his busy work schedule right after lunch.

 

Blanca was feeling kind of bored by herself, so she went ahead downstairs for some grocery shopping. It was beyond her expectation to walk into two unwelcome guests showing up downstairs in the distance uninvited.

 

“Mom, Blanca was right over there... It was her - if it wasn’t for her, Matthew wouldn’t get in the hospital!”

 

Louise got even angrily dwelling on what had happened last night when she was home. So she decided to tell Malinda that Matthew had gotten drunk because of Blanca. And the next morning, she even complained to Carrie about it after she had woken up.

 

Carrie was Matthew’s lawful step-mom, even though she wasn’t his real mother.

 

Carrie would not let it be when her daughter was feeling upset all about it.

 

“Blanca Roach, stop right there!”

 

Carrie walked towards Blanca with a heavy load of anger. It was lunch break now, and there weren’t many people at the reception area. But Carrie’s big announcing did draw everyone’s attention.

 

“Mrs. Grant, are you here for me?” Knowing Carrie didn’t come with a good intention, Blanca walked straight towards her without fear. She wasn’t scared at all.

 

Whatever will be, will be.

There would always be a fix, anyway.

 

“How dare you? Louise told me that Matthew was in some stupid drinking game and got himself so drunk and ended up being sent to the hospital all because of you! What the heck was wrong with you?”

 

Carrie was not pleased.

 

She was hoping the Empire group would thrive and grow better being run by Matthew so that her son overseas could come back and take over one day.

 

She was worried that Matthew would not be able to take care of the business if he had been in trouble. And eventually, her son would end up having nothing in the end.

 

So right now, Carrie’s anger towards Blanca was building up even more.

 

“He did.”

 

“Unbelievable! You are a terrible wife! I am going to teach you a lesson well today, for Matthew!”

 

“Are you sure, Mrs. Grant? You are the honorable Mrs. Grant in the city. If I were you, I wouldn’t do anything that would get on the news and bring shame to the family’s name. Are you still planning to start a fight with me here in public and risk being sent to the police office?”

 

Looking at Carrie’s hand raised in the air, Blanca said calmly.

 

Blanca knew clearly that Carried hated her guts now. But Blanca approached her face closer to Carrie, “If you would like the Grant family to be the attention on news headlines, you could land that hand on my face right here.”

 

“Blanca, you...”

 

Blanca made Carrie speechless in the end.

 

“But if you decide not to follow through now, I am going to walk away.

It’s quite embarrassing confronting you here in public.” Blanca sneered and turned to walk away. Louise gave Carrie a signal with her eye, and Carrie suddenly covered her head, “Oh my goodness, my head... You are pissing me off, oh dear...”

 

“Mom, take it easy... Blanca wasn’t fooling around with another man on purpose.”

 

Louise held Carrie on her arm immediately - seemed like they were about to fake an accident.

 

It felt like such a headache for Blanca. The audience around them was getting bigger.

 

“You tell me now - with whom were you having a secret affair? The Grant family never tolerates any slutty woman!” Carrie said, angrily.

 

Carrie never cared about getting on the headlines. All she focused on right now was to bring Blanca down so she could get revenge for her daughter!

 

And of course, Blanca had seen what Carrie and Louise were up to!
