Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 15

“Where are you going?”

Adelaide suddenly expected he could talk to her more, if it can better their relationship, and then aged Granny’s coming and effort for them would be meaningful.

Antonio gave her a look and didn’t speak.

Then his phone rang and the expression on his face softened because of the call. Adelaide even didn’t have to guess who it was, and she lowered her eyes, returning to her room silently.

Sure enough, she shouldn’t have any illusion about their relationship. It was solely because of Granny that he had to sleep in one bed with her and even eat the food she helped for him. And a call from Clarissa would instantly bring their relationship back as before.

“Adelaide, now, there is nothing more important than taking good care of Granny and the baby in your belly. Just stop thinking about Antonio and that woman!” Adelaide tapped her face and warned herself.

When she was in a self-pitying mood, Antonio came back, with his leather shoes clicking on the floor. She jumped up from the sofa and walked to the door, seeing him moving towards her room with a cold face.

“Dress yourself properly, we’re out.”

Looking at her dowdy appearance, he can’t help rubbing his eyebrows with his index finger. The discontent look on his face didn’t escape Adelaide’s eyes.

With her hands on her hips, she asked in an exasperated voice, “Do you think I’m very unseemly now?”

Antonio raised his eyebrows and didn’t answer her. She then lowered her head and looked at her dress.

She was wearing a nightgown with cartoon pictures on it. She became more careful since she got pregnant. In fear that trousers with elastic at the waist would be bad for her baby, she had to give up those beautiful pajamas. So she found out the nightdress that she intended to throw away. It was not exactly a nightdress but simply a longer version T-shirt.

But it was comfortable to wear, and it was also why Adelaide didn’t throw it. She also stopped using skin care products since pregnancy, so it was understandable that her skin status was not as good as before.

Adelaide rumbled discontentedly.

But he had no patience to take her complaints and sighed to himself, “Just hurry!”

“Oh.” She said unwillingly and immediately turned back to her room.

In the large closet, there was no one piece of clothes that she can wear, all designed with the waistline exactly around her waist. She shouted at the door, “No suitable clothes. Where are we going?”

“Attend the party!” he said impatiently and looked down at the watch, “Forget it, come out, and I’ll take you to buy one.”

And she walked out, still wearing her dowdy nightdress.

Antonio just can’t have a good face for her. No one would go out in pajamas to buy clothes? He can’t understand and he didn’t want to, just turning around and moving.

They drove to the city’s largest shopping mall, where there were various boutiques of famous brands. Shop assistants were well trained there and they wouldn’t slight customers on words or services because of the way they dressed.

They were very clear that people shopping there all were stinking rich, and even if one or two dressed poorly, they were just being low-profile.

Antonio led her straight to the clothes section on the second floor. They walked into a store.
