Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 38

Facing so much money, no one can stand still.

Moreover, Avin even promised them that after he became the president, every minority shareholder not only would be able to work in the company, but also would receive a high salary.

With so many tempetations, they finally agreed to the deal.

Koby did not expect Alvin to offer nice deals while applying pressures on these shareholders too. He apologized again to Antonio, saying that it was his fault for letting small shareholders leaning towards Alvin.

Antonio knew his uncle was not that easy to deal with. Using both the soft and tough measures was his style. He smiled and asked the man if the contract of the transfer had been signed.

The small shareholder's brain was already dizzy by alcohol, so he answered whatever Antonio asked.

When they got back to the company, Antonio got the news that although they had a deal already, the shareholder had been reluctant to sell at that price, so he was still procrastinating to let Alvin increase the price he would offer. Getting that information, Antonio cheerfully let Koby buy all of those people's shares, even add one more offer than Alvin’s deal:

with the same price, the transfer of shares would last only for five years!

Those shareholders were super happy with this deal, so they immediately signed the contract with Koby, just in case Antonio would go back on his word later on.

At home, Adelaide and Hanna got nothing new even after discussing about how to make Clarissa expose herself for the whole morning, so they randomly ate a little for the lunch and went back upstairs.

During the meal, Damla looked somewhat anxious. She tightly squeezed her apron and opened her mouth several times, but she did not know how to say it properly.

They were both thinking about Clarissa, so they did not notice Damla’s weirdness in time!

Otherwise, what happened later would be avoided!

"Adelaide, why don't we let some women deliberately bump into Clarissa to make her fall onto the ground. It would be obvious that she was not pregnant when she did not bleed later!"

Hanna suddenly got an inspiration when walking back and forth in the room and started to use hand gestures to present her idea.

"It's just that we have to do it when Antonio was there too, which would be harder!"

Antonio rarely went out with Clarissa, not even to mention shopping and hanging out with her.

It would be kind of hard to fake a coincidental encounter.

Adelaide frowned upon this idea,

"How is this a test, it's a gamble. Bleeding means that she is pregnant, no bleeding means that she is not pregnant.

If she does bleed, doesn't that mean the baby will be gone too?"

Though she hated Clarissa, she did not want to murder her baby. Moreover, she was also a pregnant woman. Adelaide cherished her baby so much, so did she cherish other babies.

No matter how much Clarissa and she hated each other, the risk of a miscarriage made her disapprove this idea.

Hanna asked dejectedly,

"So what can we do?"

For a moment, they got silent again in deep thought.

A thought popped up in Adelaide's mind suddenly: If Antonio were here, he would definitely have an idea. She was scared by her own thought and shook it off immediately.

Frankly speaking, Antonio was smart!

But whenever it came to Clarissa, when had he ever trusted her?

Seeing Adelaide laughing at herself, Hanna took it as she was giving up after coming up with no ideas, so she grabbed her hand and looked at her firmly in the eyes.

"Adelaide, I'll definitely help you. I'll never let that bitch Clarissa have her way!"

Hearing her words, Adelaide felt a warm energy surrounding her heart and smiled wetly in relief.

She thought, Hanna, thank you for helping me when I was helpless and giving me a warm haven.

On the other side, the lovesickness in his heart made Antonio rush home immediately after work.

Once he got home, he saw Adelaide walking towards the room without even giving him a glimpse after sending her friend away. Antonio soon caught up with her, but only got welcomed by her cold face and reluctance to speak. Why was she so happy when seeing other people,

but so cold when seeing him?

Antonio got stunned and felt unfair inside. He forced Adelaide into a corner. Finally seeing a sense of panic flashing through in her eyes, he lifted her chin and covered her warm lips without saying a word.

Her lips were so soft and delicious that Antonio could not stop once he touched it for the first time. He kept gently biting her lips, while she looked completely shocked.

Antonio intensified his efforts and open her mouth for a long drive, the aroma of milk still staying in his mouth.

"What are you doing!" said Adelaide.

Antonio smiled badly and looked at her with his arms wrapping around her,

“What is wrong with me kissing my wife?"

Adelaide’s face turned red immediately at his words. After staring at him for a long time She finally dropped one word "Shameless!",

then ran to the bathroom.

“Ahhh......"

Antonio laughed out loud. In his laughter, the bathroom got filled with watery mist soon.

Early in the morning, when Adelaide woke up, the heat near her was gone, as if falling asleep in his arms last night was just a good dream.

But when thinking of that lingering kiss, Adelaide’s face blushed red.

After having breakfast, she was again alone. Worried about radiation, she dared not to watch TV or use the computer. She did not even carry her mobile phone around. It was not an exaggeration to say that she was over nervous, because she really cherished this child.

The good news was that Hanna had been coming to her house early in the morning and staying late at night recently. She was even more punctual than a working lady in the office.

Adelaide hesitated for a long time and did not know what to say. Hanna put in a lot of efforts for her own sake. She felt guilty for her thought of giving up in the middle of the plan.

She said, "Hanna, last night, Antonio was very nice to me. I feel like there's progress between us. How about we just forget about Clarissa!"
