Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 40

She thought her grandson would slowly get better, because the doctor said that there was a chance of his body healing on its own, but her poor little grandson got even worse!

A few days ago, after the baby was transferred to the ICU, she never saw him again. The high cost of surgery was making the family almost crumbling. Even her son and daughter-in-law cried and suggested to use euthanize on him,

but whenever thinking of how the little grandson lying on bed shouting" Grandma, Grandma", she could not stand by and watch such a small grandson die.

She begged the nurse to exchange her heart for her grandson's, but even if she were to exchange her own, it would cost money!

They could hardly afford the surgery.

Damla thought of Antonio and Adelaide, but Antonio never came back. Even when he occasionally came back, there would be some outsiders there too, so she did not know how to ask Antonio to lend her half a million!

She then thought of begging Adelaide. Although she had not been very friendly to her before, that young lady had always been kind and gentle, so she would have helped herself if she knew, right?

As she thought like this, Adelaide’s transformation over the past few days became more difficult to deal with than Antonio’s.

When she was so helpless that she thought of faking her own accident to trick rich people’ money for her grandson’s medical bills, she met Clarissa.

She gently pushed the accelerator and the car came to a steady stop in front of her.

At this time, Damla had no way out. She was waiting for the car to crash herself and pay for her grandson's medical bill with the compensation.

Clarissa invited her to sit in the car and asked about the situation, she then immediately drove to the hospital where Damla’s young grandson was at and paid 500,000, plus an additional 10,000 for the best treatment and the best drugs on the child.

Her action deeply touched the helpless Damla, and her whole family knelt in front of Clarissa to thank her. She helped them stand up, then told them that they could ask for her help again if the money was not enough. Saving the child was the most important thing.

Damla had nothing to reward her kindness, so she ran over to tell Clarissa about the plots when hearing that Adelaide and the others were premeditating to hurt Clarissa.

Pulling back her thoughts, Damla was now sobbing on the sofa.

"Damla, don't cry, isn't the little baby having the surgery today?

We'll go see him together later."

Clarissa smiled slightly, while her cold eyes showing no emotions.

Damla nodded, wiped her tears and smiled,

"Yes, it's time for his surgery today.

I have to thank you for all these, Miss Clarissa."

"Damla, don't thank me, I'm just helping out a little, you are making me embarrassed."

However, Clarissa was complacent inside. There was only one nanny in the Barons family. Though she was thrown out of the family, she never stopped spying on Damla.

"Miss Clarissa, I will repay your kindness no matter what happen in the future!"

After saying that, she stood up to kneel to Clarissa.

Clarissa stood up smartly too and put on an aggrieved face as she pulled Damla up.

"Damla, I don't want you to be too tired. It's just that my sister is being too much, can you tell me her daily schedule from now on?"

"This......"

Damla was hesitated. Was this just equaling to spying on Adelaide?

Though she did not like that woman, it was against the law to spy on her, right?

Damla's heart started drumming and getting scared.

"Well then, it's all my fault, no matter what my sister do, it’s always right. I'd rather kill the baby in my belly and let my sister and Antonio be happy together!"

Damla had a soft heart. Especially when it was the person who saved her grandson’s life saying that, she felt very uncomfortable. In the end, she did her a huge favor, it would be improper to refuse her request.

is it ungrateful of her?

In the end, after much hesitation, Damla finally agreed to Clarissa 's request.

Getting Damla’s approve, Clarissa smiled cunningly. She was actually going to send Damla money that day, but coincidentally ran into her on the way,

so she directly pulled her into the car and naturally helped her pay the money.

It was so lucky for her. She just bribed Damla in such an easy way.

"I'm sorry, sister-in-law, I failed!"

Jerry was not so happy though. He looked very frustrated. A while ago, he was still confidently vouching to succeed, but now all the bragging just turned into the loudest slap on his face.

Adelaide smiled, but before she said anything, Hanna chuckled softly,

"Useless!".

She was going to say ‘waste’ but decided to change the word, thinking of Antonio.

Adelaide tapped her forehead and handed Jerry a glass of water,

"It's okay, I don't really care anyway."

Hearing that, Hanna called her stupid. Adelaide thought that it would be fine as long as Antonio was not falling for that girl anymore?

Jerry blushed. He wanted to defend himself, but the fact was that he did mess things up, so he hesitated for a long time and said,

"It failed, but I could tell already that she was faking a pregnancy!".

For looking good in front of his potential future wife, he put on a pensive face as if he was recalling the scene.

"Sister-in-law, I happened to smell alcohol on her. You should never drink alcohol when you're pregnant, especially in the early stages! You know that too right?"

Adelaide nodded. Anyhow, Jerry helped them, so she thanked him.

At that very moment, Antonio called Jerry. Under the direct surveillance of the two, he answered the phone,

"Antonio, what's wrong?"

His usual tone was playful. However, he felt very conflicted after he knew that his bro was having an affair. After all, they were good friends, and he was afraid that Antonio would say something bad about Adelaide.

That was why Jerry specifically speak in a formal way. However, Antonio was suspicious for half a moment.

"Did you change your gender?

I'm not used to you being so serious."

Hanna came to him and pinched his arm, signaling him with her eyes not say anything about them staying together. Jerry had a hard time dealing with the pain. He forced the pain down and smilingly said,

"No, nothing. What’s up!"

Antonio was silent for a moment,

"It's Adelaide's birthday today. Help me pick a nice gift. Perfume, shoes, dress, whatever. Oh also, she likes pink!"

His words for sure made Jerry feel much better, and alleviated his awkwardness of failing a mission. He happily complimented Antonio inside and hung up the phone. He raised up his neck so high up as if it was going to touch the sky. He was happy that his friend still remembered his wife’s birthday. Maybe cheating was not a big deal then, since he might just dump the other girl anytime. He felt much better now and agreed to help Antonio.
