Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 63

“Hi, Antonio! Adelaide here.”

Antonio was shocked and asked attentively, “Adelaide?”

“Yep. I’m calling to tell you that Koby was hit and passed out. I found him in a corner of the hospital.”

All the mess drove Antonio to rubbed his forehead with annoyance, but he still worried about Clarissa as he thought about the blood between her thighs. “Is Clarissa okay?”

Adelaide smiled frankly. “She’s fine. Your friend sent the blood here in time. I saw her go out as I went to grab the medicine for Koby.” She didn’t tell him that the doctor forced her to transfuse her blood into Clarissa, and Koby passed out in that he and Flora went to pick her up, which got him hit.

Adelaide knew Antonio must have been stuck by his business, otherwise he’d come to see Clarissa. Parting her lips, she was about to ask him if the company was okay, but she swallowed it back.

Maybe it was because she was angry about the compulsory blood transfusion; maybe it was because her seeping gash got her hurt. Anyway, she didn’t care about the fucking company at the moment.

After silence greeted Antonio’s ear, he hastily hung up after telling her to take care.

It wasn’t a season for flu, and there were plenty of available beds in the wards. Koby’s ward was nothing to Clarissa’s luxury VIP ward. At the door was a small bathroom with a toilet. Four beds were crammed into the small ward, each one screened by the curtains. Beside each bed stood a tiny closet and a rack for fluid infusion. At the moment, except Koby’s bed, the other three were available.

When Hanna Battle came to visit Koby, she brought some fruits. Clarissa picked up an apple from the fruits. She was about to wash it in the bathroom when she thought that it’s said things in the hospital are contaminated by gems and bacteria. Then she was deliberating whether she should have the apple or not.

Then Koby woke up, screaming out her name.

They got kind of embarrassed as their eyes met. After a mock cough, Koby asked, “Are you okay, Mrs. Baron?”

Adelaide smiled. “I’m fine, thanks. Antonio’s friend sent the blood in time.”

Noticing he was licking his lips, Adelaide quickly grabbed a bottle of water for him and helped him twist off the lid, asking, “Do you know who hit you?”

He thanked her and shook his head. Although they both guessed it was Flora, they couldn’t prove it as they’ve got no security video clips or any witnesses.

“I went to find blood donator with Mrs. Swift at the front door, but she said she knew a friend at the back door whose blood was Rh negative blood. Then she instantly dragged me to the back door, which cost plenty of precious time. I realized there’s something wrong with her, but when I was about to question her, I was hit and passed out.”

Obviously, Flora did it to Koby. Lucky her that Antonio got his friend to find her, or…Adelaide sneered and dropped the conversation.

She took Koby’s phone out of his pocket as she thought of Antonio’s call. “Antonio just called you when you were sleeping. So, I picked it up for you. Now that you’re awake, call him back.”

Koby immediately broke out in a sweat as he banged on his own thigh. Shit! He pulled the needle out of his arm and rushed out of the ward, calling Antonio.

Adelaide continued peeling the apple.

Exasperated and annoyed, Clarissa was transfused into three bags of blood sourced from unknowns, which should have been from Adelaide as she planned. And she left the operation room with complaints.

Not seeing Adelaide, Flora thought her plan had worked and Adelaide had been forced to transfuse blood into her daughter by her brother, and she couldn’t stop laughing. People passing by all assumed she was insane.

But after she saw her daughter come out of the operation room, she didn’t find Adelaide.

Clarissa said angrily, “Stop looking for the bitch, she’s not here.”

“What?” Flora was dumbfounded as her jaw dropped.

Clarissa got more exasperated. “Damn it! When she was brought here, some guy showed up with three bags of blood and took the bitch away.”

“Impossible! Koby was hit and passed out. Who else could send you the blood?” Flora got confused.

Clarissa rolled her eyes at her mother. Had it not been for Koby, she’d have got the bitch’s blood drained dry.

Koby, Koby! How dare you!

“Where’s Koby? I’m going to kill him!”

Flora instantly brought her daughter to the place where Koby got hit, finding no trace of Koby. Flora soon got it that Koby must have been saved by Adelaide.

Just as expected, the nurse on duty told them Koby was in his ward. Then they rushed all the way to his ward.

“What the hell are you doing here?” She asked with distain and abhor.

Clarissa sneered and looked around the room, only to find nobody except Adelaide. She stopped pretending to be a saint as contempt swam in her eyes.

“Bitch, without Koby’s chivalry, you won’t get a chance to speak to me like this.”

Refusing to see their ugly faces, Adelaide frowned and pointed at the door. “Get out!”

Without Antonio’s presence, Flora came straight to her and slapped her face. “You dirty bitch. Both you and your mother are filthy sluts. How dare you to order us?”

Adelaide covered her face with her hand, knowing she was too weak to fight with them. After all, she had got accustomed to Flora’s slaps. Swallowing the pain and misery, she said coldly, “You can leave now since Koby’s not here.”

“That son of a bitch! He’s just a lackey of Antonio. How dare he to fight with my mother! I’ll tell Antonio to fire him tomorrow.”

Unwilling to hear their brags, she sat on the chair to continue the peeling as she thought they’d leave if she showed no response.

But Clarissa was so furious that she took it out on Adelaide. Since Adelaide didn’t fire back as if she was a coward, Clarissa dumped all the dirty words on her.

And Flora adds more slanders as she thought Adelaide was spineless and at their mercy. Finally, Adelaide couldn’t stand it anymore and snapped, “Enough! Clarissa, aren’t you going to die of the abortion?”

“Yuck! Bullshit! She’s meant to be the wife of a boss.” It’s with great regret that she didn’t let her daughter marry Antonio in the first place.
