Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 76

Since Adelaide wasn’t on alert, Clarissa purposely appointed with her at the café near Adelaide’s home on the certain day she had chosen.

Adelaide wanted to refused her but she mentioned Koby, so Adelaide had to meet her.

It was chill outside. Adelaide felt colder as she was pregnant and stay weak.

Damla called a taxi for her. The driver turned on the air-conditioner as he found Adelaide looked weak and pale.

Shivering with cold, she got off the taxi with the help of Damla. She was dumbfounded as she noticed Clarissa also got the café.

“Let’s talk about Koby.”

Adelaide asked her as soon as they sat down.

Clarissa crossed her legs, ignoring the question.

With a hint of annoyance in her eyes, Adelaide frowned and asked again. Clarissa still kept silent.

“Damla, I want Cappuccino, please.”

Then Clarissa broke the silence and smiled at Damla.

Adelaide knew Clarissa purposely asked Damla away. “What do you want to tell me?” If Clarissa didn’t talk to her, she’d leave immediately.

An unassuming smile curved her lips as she pressed her back against the sofa comfortably. She looked at the outside and asked, “Do you know what I can see from here?”

Adelaide was dumbfounded but nodded. She loved this spot as she could see Antonio’s office from here. The special glass of his office could allow him to look at the outside clearly, but people outside couldn’t see the inside.

She talked about Koby in the way as usual as talking about the weather. “Actually, I…I didn’t hate Koby. It was just because he knew my secrets.”

Clarissa purposely exasperated Adelaide. As she had expected, Adelaide couldn’t suppress her anger as she clenched her fists tight and gritted her eyes, bellowing, “He just bluffed to scare you. If you hadn’t been guilty, you wouldn’t have been so terrified as to kill him.”

Then Clarissa continued, “How pathetic he was! It was you who made him lose his life.”

“You!”

Adelaide was too angry to say anything.

Then Clarissa’s another word got Adelaide entirely lose control. “Never mind, my sister. His life was cheap.”

Adelaide rose to her feet from the sofa and lunged at her, slapping her in the face, insanely roaring, “I’ll kill you.”

“Are you mad? Because I brough up Channing?” Clarissa also stood up to meet Adelaide’s eyes.

Adelaide was confused and questioned, “What the hell are you talking about?”

“Didn’t you love him?”

Adelaide was in anger as she snapped, “Yep! So what? But…”

Suddenly, her hand was grabbed by someone before she could finish her words. She turned around to find Antonio, which shocked her to death.

“Listen, Antonio, I can explain.” Adelaide hastily explained to him, not caring about Clarissa’s words.

But Clarissa quickly wept. “Antonio, I saw her with Channing together just now, so I came to ask her if she still love Channing.”

Adelaide was going crazy as she was aware that she was set up by Clarissa again.

She was insanely furious enough to lunge at Clarissa’s belly and screamed, “Go to the hell, bitch!”

Then Clarissa was hit by Adelaide and bumped into the wall. After seconds, Clarissa covered her belly with hands and cried, “Ah! It hurts! Ouch! Anto…nio! It hurts!”

Antonio hastily pushed Adelaide away and found the blood on the ground.

“Adelaide, I couldn’t believe you’d be so ruthless.”

Then he held Clarissa in his arms and left.

Adelaide walked to the sofa and looked at the blood. It was impossible she’d lose her baby since she didn’t get pregnant.

Hanna and Jerry were sure that Clarissa didn’t have a bun in the oven, and Clarissa had confessed to her that she pretended to be pregnant.

Was she in her period now? Then she shook her head. No. She had to go to the hospital to figure it out. She hastily jumped into a cab.

After Antonio sent Clarissa into the operation room, he waited for her anxiously outside. At the time, Adelaide scurried here out of breath.

Antonio also became insane as he heard she admitted that she still loved Channing and he rudely grabbed Adelaide by the arm. “Why do you hurt Clarissa? Don’t you know she has my baby? I’ll kill you if I lose it!” He didn’t know why he had to say it to hurt her as his eyes were filled with resent and fury. “You still love Channing Darnell, right? Why? Am I not good enough for you?” Adelaide was scared when he glared at her.
