Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 186

After a day's walk, Adelaide was worn out. She went to the bathroom to take a bath.

When she came out after changing into clean clothes, Damla was already busy cooking in the kitchen.

Adelaide went to the bedside and made a call to Jerry.

Jerry had just got off work and was on the way home. Seeing Adelaide's name on the screen of his mobile phone, he was stunned for a moment. Adelaide rarely called him. Could it be that she quarreled with Antonio again?

Thinking like this, Jerry answered the phone.

"Hello."

"Jerry, I want you to do me a favor, but I don't know if you're willing to." Adelaide got down to the business directly.

Jerry smiled brightly and said, "Just tell me." He talked as if he would surely help her.

Adelaide couldn't help smiling, "It's the birthday of Antonio tomorrow, and I want you to..." Before Adelaide finished her words, Jerry answered, "No problem."

"Er..." Adelaide was stunned for a while, "Why do you agree before I tell you what I want you to do?" She found it funny, but she failed to smile the next second.

Jerry said in a relaxed and happy voice, "You want to send him a gift, but you're too shy to do it yourself. Therefore, you want me to do it for you, right?"

Adelaide was immediately startled. How did Jerry know what she was thinking?

"How did you know that?"

"I guess it." Jerry answered casually. As a matter of fact, Jerry had thought of many possibilities several seconds before he answered the phone.

Considering that it was Antonio's birthday tomorrow, it was not difficult for him to guess what Adelaide called him at this time for.

What Adelaide said after he answered the phone confirmed his guess.

"Wow, you're so clever." Adelaide praised him sincerely with a smile.

Right at this moment, she heard some noise coming from outside the door. Adelaide unconsciously looked at the door. She saw Antonio after the door was opened.

It seemed that Antonio found that Adelaide was looking at him, so he looked up at her. As a result, their eyes met.

A short time after it, Adelaide looked away from him. Antonio didn't found that she blushed when she turned around, but he saw that she smiled when she chatted with Jerry.

Adelaide managed to calm herself down and continued to talk with Jerry. When she peeped behind her, Antonio was nowhere to be seen. Presumably, he went to his room.

After talking about this issue, Adelaide chatted with him for a while before she hung up the phone.

More than ten minutes later, the dinner was ready. Adelaide sniffed the smell of the dishes and felt hungry. She didn't eat much at noon because of the hot weather. Then, she wandered around all afternoon. Therefore, she had in fact long been hungry. She just didn't feel it before because she had been thinking of calling Jerry.

Now, she had an appetite. Without waiting for Antonio, she just sat down in chair and began to eat.

Damla went to Antonio's room to ask him to have dinner. Soon, Antonio came out of his room slowly.

Adelaide didn't look up at him, but continued to eat.

Seeing that Antonio had sat down in the chair, Damla said, "Master Antonio, I'll serve rice for you."

However, Antonio waved his hand, "You don't have to."

Damla knew that Antonio was a peremptory person, so she didn't insist and left the living room quickly.

Adelaide was still eating while Antonio looked at her quietly. She could feel that Antonio was looking at her and found it a little strange that Antonio was looking at her instead of eating.

A while later, Adelaide put down her chopsticks. She lost her appetite because Antonio kept looking at her.

"Why...Why do you keep looking at me?" She couldn't help asking.

Three seconds later, Antonio didn't answer her but said, "Serve me rice."

Adelaide was stunned for a moment. She was unwilling to do it and complained in her heart that Antonio refused when Damla offered to serve him rice, after which he should ask her to do it.

However, she finally stood up and served Antonio rice. She put the bowl of steaming rice in front of Antonio with some force.

It could be seen that she was unhappy from the sound "bang" produced by it.

However, Antonio didn't eat, but asked suddenly, "Who did you call just now?"

He said it in a very light voice, but Adelaide's heart sank after hearing it.

Could it be that he had already found out? Adelaide somewhat panicked, not because she had done something wrong, but because her secret was discovered.

"Just...just a friend." Adelaide stammered.

Not knowing how to make up an excuse, she prayed in her heart that Antonio would not ask any more.

Perhaps because her prayer worked, instead of asking more, Antonio picked up his chopsticks and quietly began to eat.

The birthday of Antonio was by no means a trivial matter in J City, because Antonio would hold a luxurious birthday party every year, inviting celebrities from all walks of life to attend. It wasn't that he attached great importance to his birthday. He just wanted to use it as an opportunity to gain more benefits for the Baron Group.

It was usually celebrities and rich people in J City who came to attend his birthday party. Therefore, Antonio could make several good deals at his birthday party every year.

Also, considering that Antonio was so influential that many people were willing to attend his birthday party, there were quite a lot of people who wanted to get to know people of the upper class in J City in his birthday party. Therefore, many people would attend his birthday party every year.

In previous years, Antonio would take Adelaide to his birthday party, but Adelaide usually showed little interest in it.

The next afternoon, Antonio made a phone call to Adelaide after he got off work. Adelaide told him that she didn't want to come to his birthday party. Considering that it didn't matter whether he took a female companion with him or not because the party was held by him, Antonio didn't force her to come, but hung up the phone directly.

At their home, Adelaide made a phone call to Jerry and asked him to come to her home after chatting with Antonio.

Jerry came very fast. Only more than ten minutes later, he arrived at Adelaide's home.

"Here you are. Remember to send it to him." Adelaide handed the guitar to Jerry.

After taking the guitar, Jerry looked at Adelaide, "Why, are you not going to attend Antonio's birthday party?"

Adelaide smiled, "I'm not going. It's quite good to watch TV and listen to songs at home."

Jerry touched his chin and suddenly made a funny expression, "Antonio is really great at playing guitar. Don't you want to listen to it?"

Hearing this, Adelaide did become somewhat interested in it, "So what? Could it be that he would play guitar at his birthday party?"
