Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 195

Louie Battle sat in his office with a newspaper in his hand. His face was dark.

These reporters were really irrational, daring to publish any groundless story in the newspaper. His daughter was fine. It was a sheer nonsense for the newspaper to report that his daughter had once committed suicide.

According to the newspaper, his daughter had received emergency treatment in City Hospital. He had asked his assistant to investigate over this issue. Once his assistant came back and told him that there wasn't any related record, he would definitely sue the reporter who wrote the article.

Besides, he was going to destroy the newspaper in which this article was published!

Now, people in J City were all talking about this matter after this news was suddenly published. The share price of the Battle Group also fell sharply because of it.

His musings were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Come in, please." When he said these words, he did not look up. His eyes were still fixed on the newspaper.

It was Louie's assistant who came in.

He stood in front of Louie and said after taking a few deep breaths, "Mr. Battle, I've checked it out. Miss Hanna had been sent to City Hospital before and did receive emergency treatment because she tried to kill herself by slashing her wrist."

Originally, Louie anticipated that the assistant would tell him that Hanna had never received emergency treatment because she committed suicide. Hearing what he said, Louie immediately patted the desk with great force and shouted loudly with his eyes wide open, "How is it possible? Could it be that what is reported in the newspaper is true?"

The assistant couldn't help shivering, "I...I haven't checked it out yet."

"Continue to investigate!"

Hearing this, the assistant said "yes" hurriedly and left the office as if he was fleeing.

Seeing this, Louie couldn't help shaking his head slightly. His assistant, who was quite upright and capable, had worked for him for some years. However, his assistant was too cowardly. Louie was indeed angry, but he was not angry with him. However, his assistant was still so frightened.

However, Louie could only rest assured by asking such a cowardly person to handle such a secret matter.

To a certain extent, his personality was the reason why Louie put him in an important position.

Two days later, Louie came to the ward Hanna lived in. As a matter of fact, he didn't get along very well with Hanna, but people who were not familiar with them wouldn't think so because Louie was good at pretending.

Because of the strained relationship between them, Louie gradually cared less and less about Hanna and finally just transferred money to her every month. Once in a while, there would be business activities that required the presence of Hanna. Only when this happened would he call Hanna and asked her to attend the business activities with him. They only met under such circumstance.

That's the reason why Louie, as Hanna's father, wasn't informed even when she tried to kill herself by slashing her wrist.

Every time he thought of this, Louie would be afraid. He was always wondering what to do if Hanna died.

He had been busy with other things these days, so he didn't come to the hospital until Hanna had been taken to the hospital for three days.

Compared with three days ago when she was just frightened, Hanna looked much healthier now.

In fact, she had recovered a long time ago. However, the world outside the hospital was strange and dark, so she didn't want to leave the hospital. She just wanted to hide in the hospital and was unwilling to appear in front of anyone.

She always sat there in a daze, neither playing with her cell phone nor reading newspapers. That's because she was afraid that she would see the news that she had been raped.

She dared not face reality, so she had to choose to escape from it.

It made Louie's heart ache to see that Hanna was in a daze.

"Are...Are you all right?" Louie asked in a light voice after quite a while.

Hanna clenched her hands into fists and wriggled uneasily, "Father, why do you come here? Is it..."

She had a clear understanding of the relationship between herself and her father. Generally speaking, her father would not come to visit her. One reason was that they had a bad relationship. And the other reason was that he was too busy working.

Unprecedentedly, her father came to visit her, even at this point. Even if Hanna was stupid, she already understood something.

After sitting on the bed, Louie pulled Hanna and let her rest her head on his shoulder, "Yes, but don't worry. I've got a solution and I'll definitely be able to keep your reputation." Louie said firmly.

He might not really be able to achieve what he said, but he was determined to do what he said.

Hanna was surprised to find that she didn't experience much mood swing after hearing it. She just nodded lightly without saying anything.

Maybe it was because I had been prepared psychologically long before, Hanna thought.

"You silly girl. Why didn't you tell me after it happened? I can handle it for you. You should not let Antonio handle it." Seeing Hanna was calm, Louie couldn't help continuing to speak.

"Oh? What do you mean, dad?" Hanna felt puzzled.

"Didn't you ask Antonio to take revenge on the man who...you? That guy has been put into the detention house before. I heard that he had committed a crime. According to my investigation, it's Antonio who did this. Besides, it's exactly that guy, whose name is Kian White, spread this news in the detention house." Louie looked at his daughter with some astonishment.

"Ah...Oh." Hanna uttered these words in response, but she was experiencing a great mood swing in her heart.

These days, she thought a lot, but she couldn't figure out why the reporters would know this news. Now, she seemed to link up all the clues, after which she almost guessed the whole story.

Louie stayed in the ward for one more while, but he left after receiving a phone call. After all, as a businessman, he cared about business.

Not long after Louie left, Adelaide came.

These days when Hanna stayed in the ward, it was Adelaide who had been taking care of her.

Adelaide felt that there was something wrong the moment she came in. She felt that Hanna was looking at her strangely.

She put the packed food on the nightstand, looked at Hanna and asked in doubt, "What's wrong, Hanna? Is there anything on my face?"

"I have a question for you. Did you ask Antonio to put Kian White into detention house?" Hanna asked.

Adelaide was startled, "How did you know that?"

"Oh, why would I not know? Right, you certainly don't want me to know it. If I know that, how could you ruin me? Right?" Hanna sneered.

"What do you mean?" Adelaide looked at Hanna with perplexity because she couldn't understand what Hanna meant by saying these words.

"What my boyfriend told me should be true!" Hanna stared at Adelaide coldly, "Now, get out!"

Adelaide tried to say something, "Hanna..."

"Get out!"
