President Williams Woos His Ex-wife Again novel Chapter 40

Hearing this gentle but resigned voice, like a drowning man, Beth grabbed the man's clothes for help, and shrank into his arms.

She was hot, sweating all over her body.

The body of the person near her was cool but not cold, like jade, which people wanted to get close to.

His soft voice was pathetic.

Such a tone made Beth heartrending into tears.

Even if her consciousness was chaotic and fuzzy, she was still trying to hold on to the person.

The man was holding her, and his long fingers were caressing her moist hair.

“You are so stubborn, my little girl.”

The sound still rang out intermittently, “You'll get hurt.”

“Go back, my little girl.”

Beth was not clear whether this gentleness was her dream or the reality. She barely opened her eyes, but just could not see the scene in front of her.

“Who... are you?”

A hoarse voice of doubt crept through her throat.

Immediately afterward, someone’s hands covered her eyes.

She could see nothing.

In this daze, a word came back and forth in her chaotic mind.

“What should I do with you, my little girl?”

“Sorry, my little girl.”

He called over and over again, whose words were like soft feathers floating down to her injured heart.

The voice was as warm as a soft light of spring, which she was desperate to follow.

Time passed by. When she was unconscious, someone helped her take fever medication again, and then she fell asleep without knowing anything.

Too tired, she wanted to sleep.

She was tired.

She did not know how long she had slept in the man's arms. At dawn, she woke up and found no one around her.

The villa was horribly empty.

Lying on the sofa, Beth moved her finger stiffly.

Her eyes were somewhat hollow.

Was it a dream?

Otherwise, how could she hear such a gentle and caring voice?

Was it that boy?

He was comforting her.

Only he would call her his little girl.

Her eyes were wide open, which were clearly bloodshot. The chandelier overhead reflected in her eyes, and she burst into tears.

No boy.

Nothing.

It was nothing but a dream last night, and when she woke up, there was nothing.

The door of the villa was locked, and there was no trace of anyone coming.

The blood from the cut on the back of her hand had dried up and became black.

There was no one around her.

Beth helped herself stand up. When her feet touched the ground, she almost fell. Her strength was almost drained.

Just then, the phone rang again.

She got up and picked up the phone. It was Director Tom.

“Miss Taylor, have you offended some big man?”

“Director Tom,” She opened her lips. When she began to speak, she felt a laceration in her throat. Her voice was harsh and hoarse.

“I can't give you this role anymore. I'm sorry I can't employ you. I must ensure the crew gets the shot done.”

“Don’t come again.”

The attitude of Director Tom was still euphemistic. Facing the oppression, he had no way.

After finishing his words, Director Tom hung up.

Her heart was dazed as she listened to the beep on the phone.

Money. she needed money now.

The crew did not employ her. It should have been because of Karl.

Once he was such a good man for her, now he was against her for Carina.

She could not go to act anymore. Jacky's medical expenses were out of hand.

But she will not concede this way. Karl did this because Carina was lying to him!

If she found any evidence, she could convince Karl to believe her.

Karl would not hate her that much.

Thinking Carina deceived him, Beth felt a fire burning in her heart.

Beth made a bowl of noodles in the kitchen to eat and set out to find Carina.

She knew that Carina did not work today. It was said that she had a cold and was resting.

Carina lived in Hilton Apartment downtown, belonging to the Thomas Group.

She made her way to Carina's apartment.

As soon as the door opened, Beth gave her a slap.

Carina staggered and fell back.

“Are you crazy?” Carina covered her face and stared angrily at her.

Beth trembled all over, uttering with gnashing her teeth, “Carina, you are the person who gave Karl that money? It is not you. Why are you lying to him? You want to marry a nobleman and have sex with Rawson. But you tell Karl, it’s for him that you have sex with Rawson.”

Carina admitted. Even if she was beaten, she still laughed.

“So what? How can you, a deaf woman, get so well married? Even that impostor Kathy can get a good marriage. I am no better than you? Karl is stupid and listens to me! Can it be my fault? He is willing to be a servant of me, and I am happy to see so.”

Beth was shocked that Carina admitted. Her guess was right.

Carina did all the tricks.

“Beth, I will take away everything you have! With the help of the Brown and Thomas family, I will stomp you under my feet! As for those things you did for your brother, no one will ever know!”

“Tell me, do you feel painful when selling blood and your kidney? You may not die in peace for the person you save is actually not grateful.”

Beth suddenly calmed down. She smiled and took out her phone.

“I don't expect you to admit it so easily. I'm going to send this recording to Karl. I want him to see how disgusting you are!”

Recording?

She had a recording? So it was meant to provoke her?

Carina was nervous and then looked ferocious.

“Beth!” She gritted her teeth with a demonic horror on her face.

“You, bitch, isn’t punished by no one but me!” Beth said ruthlessly.
