President’s Twins: Buy One, Get One Free novel Chapter 122

Hayden was stumbling in the water. All her senses were aroused. There was a new wave of arousal. Her eyes were wide open as they lost focus. Her entire body started to shudder uncontrollably. Then, her entire body fell into Joseph’s embrace.

She eventually fainted.

In her daze, she seemed to realize that someone was drying her body. She was placed on the clean and comfortable large bed and covered with a blanket. She was exhausted and fell asleep. As she slept, she entered into a strange dream.

She dreamt that she was in the most luxurious part of Nanking city. The evening sky was red and she was walking along the street alone and suddenly she felt blank.

“Hayden…” A familiar voice could then be heard. When she raised her head, she didn’t know that she was grabbing onto Joseph’s arm.

She was stunned and wanted to withdraw her hands but she was held by Joseph who tenderly said, “Let’s go back for dinner. Quickly go and pick up the kids.”

“Go home?” She didn’t understand and looked at Joseph as she asked, “Go back to whose place? We…”

“Why are you so muddle-headed?” In the dream, Joseph was very pampering and looked at her, “We are already married for a year and you still ask me whose house we are going back to?”

“Married?” Hayden followed behind him.

“Daddy, Mommy!” The two kids ran from afar and lunged into their arms. Their voices rang like bells ringing next to her ears. Joseph carried Stella to sit on his shoulders. The perfect scene made her dispel a strange worry that she had.

The scene then suddenly changed to a Beckham family gathering.

Harrison Beckham was all praises for her, “You’re so good to Noah. You really treat him like your own son. Joseph is very lucky to marry you. I’m certain of it.”

Several unfamiliar faces nodded and agreed with what Harrison said, “Yes, yes, Joseph is so blessed.” The two kids were holding her hands on either side of her. Their innocent eyes were full of trust and love for her.

Then, a large person pushed them aside and stretched out his hand to reveal an emerald necklace. He asked with a chilling voice, “What’s this?”

The emerald necklace was his and was in her possession for all these years. After the marriage, she had been holding onto it and she didn’t expect him to find it.

“What’s Noah and Stella’s background?” The sudden question made her tense up and she was unable to answer immediately.

“You knew everything from the beginning. Was this the reason that you got close to me? You are disgusting, Hayden.” There wasn’t any warmth in Joseph’s face while his voice was totally cold and frosty as he continued, “You will not be able to see the two kids from today onwards.”

Her fears raged like tidal waves as she hugged the two kids tightly, “No, the children are mine…”

“Servants, take the kids away…”

“No!” Hayden screamed. Her voice shattered the dream as she was awakened from her sleep. She was like a drowning person gasping for air.

The room was dark as the blue-grey curtains covered the blue skies outside. It was already evening and looked so much like the skies in the dream. Hayden broke out in cold sweat and thought about her dream and had a lingering fear.

Knock, knock, knock…

The maid knocked, “Ms. Downey, are you awake?”

Hayden came to her senses and was about to respond. She then realized that she was sleeping in Joseph’s room so all the servants in the villa must have known about what happened.

“Erm”, her face blushed in red as she answered.

It was as if the maid knew that she was embarrassed and didn’t open the door so she said from outside, “I’ll put the clothes outside the door and you can rest a while more.”

Once the footsteps got further away, Hayden heaved a sigh of relief and lifted the blanket to look at herself. She was wearing a set of loose pajamas. They should be Joseph’s and they still had his scent.

Once she changed into her clothes, she went downstairs and three to five servants were busy at work in the kitchen. The delicious fragrance of the dishes drifted from the dining room. The servant who sent her the clothes were picking up the toys on the sofa.

Once she saw Hayden walking down, the servant greeted respectfully, “Ms. Downey.”

Hayden blushed and she tried to hide her awkwardness by asking, “Where’s your master?”

“Master instructed us to wait for him for dinner. If you’re hungry, I’ll get some snacks for you first.”

“No need.” Hayden replied awkwardly, “No need, I’ll leave now.”

“But Master had gone to pick up Little Noah and Stella. They should be back soon.”

Hayden could only sit down when she heard that.

“Please have a seat as I get some snacks for you.” The servant said.

Hayden said that there was no need but the servant still ran to get some snacks for her. Though the Beckham family servants were new, all of them knew Hayden. Because Hayden had come numerous times, they naturally thought that Hayden would be the future lady of the house. So they treated her with immense respect.

After a short while, the sound of car engine could be heard from the courtyard. The servant opened the door and Joseph led the children into the house. The kids rushed over to Hayden as soon as they saw her.

“Mommy, Mr. Beckham said that we’re having hotpot tonight.”

The food was laid out on the dining table. The steam rose from the boiling pork rib soup. The servants were busily preparing and there was a feeling of reunion dinner.

Hayden raised her head to look at Joseph and her face blushed like a ripe tomato. She braced herself and said, “I’ll take Stella back first. We may not be able to get a cab home if it’s too late.”

“I’ll send you back after dinner.” Joseph looked at her and slowly removed his jacket to give it to the maid. He changed his shoes and walked into the house. It was as if nothing happened in the afternoon.

Hayden always believed in losing with dignity. When she saw that Joseph was unfazed, she also braced herself and nodded in agreement.

It was just a dinner. If she insisted on leaving, then it would appear that she felt guilty of something. The kids were the happiest when Hayden decided to stay. The servants also exchanged looks as if they all knew the hidden message. Thereafter, at the dining table, Stella gave the seat beside Stella to Noah and she climbed onto Joseph’s thigh. Hayden softly scolded her, “Stella, go back to your seat.”

“The chair is too low, I can’t reach the table to eat properly.” Stella pouted as she said.

Hayden was about to say something when Joseph interrupted her, “It’s okay, we’ll eat like this.”

After saying this, he embraced Stella and softly asked her what she wanted to eat. They were like a father and daughter eating together.

Hayden suddenly remembered the dream and her emotions stirred. How would Joseph react if he found out that the little girl in his arms was his daughter?
