The two waitresses looked at each other in shock.

Hayden recovered from her surprise and tried to withdraw her hand. But Joseph held her hand even tighter.

Only Joseph’s deep voice was heard in the room, “Get a good look! She’s my girl now. Tell everyone about what you have seen before getting fired!”

The two waitresses were as white as a sheet. One of them was in a cold sweat, with her legs turned to jelly and might probably fall down if it wasn’t for the waitress holding her at the side.

They slunk away immediately, not even daring to plead for mercy when facing Joseph’s stern look.

The door was shut with a snap, and the room returned to silence.

Hayden was rubbing her wrist, lowering her head, “Why did you say this?”

“Say what?”

“Said that... I’m your fiancée.”

Joseph moved toward Hayden, lifted her head to look at him, “You should have understood what I had said last night.”

Behind Hayden was the bed, and she had nowhere to run. She bit the bullet and told him, “You said that you would give me some time...”

“And I said that I won’t wait too long also.”

Joseph held Hayden at arm’s length and leaned down, looking at her. She could tell that Joseph had an uncompromising attitude from his eyes.

Hayden had no way out as being forced by Joseph’s aggressiveness, “What if I’m married?”

She had a daughter, and all of the hotel staff also thought that she was married. She disbelieved Joseph for not considering such a problem.

“Do you think that I’m a fool?” Joseph ridiculed in a cold voice.

At that moment, Hayden was staggered, giving a stiff smile.

She felt like shooting herself in the foot. She had this kind of feeling frequently during her time with Joseph, which made her feel numb.

Hayden struggled to a sitting position, gasping. She was pissed off and staring at him, “Shameless.”

Joseph put his hands behind his head, playfully looking at her, “It was just yesterday when you hinted at me like this too.”

Hayden just then realized what he was talking about. It made her blood boil as she picked up the pillow and smashed it on him, “Shut up...”

Joseph raised his hand to block the pillow, and he flung his arms around Hayden’s neck. She then stumbled and fell on him while the pillow rolled down to the carpet. Time stood still for this moment.

...

The next morning, the foreign guests were received at the hotel by the men sent to the airport and the government diplomat. When checking in, Hayden as the hotel representative, followed at the side.

The primary purpose of this visit was for trade promotion. There were fifteen foreign guests, represented by a blue-eyed foreign man with white hair, in his mid-fifties, named Hans, as well as his chubby wife, Jennifer.

The diplomat was acquainted with Joseph and introduced him to Hans, “This is the ST Group CEO, Joseph Beckham.”

Hans nodded, and they shook hands in a friendly manner.

Joseph had a glance at Hayden, “This is Ms. Downey, the person-in-charge of this reception as well as introducing Nanking’s local customs later on. Wish that you have a good time here.”

“Oh, such a gorgeous lady.” Hans tilted his head. Such a man in his fifties acted childish as he asked mischievously, “Is she your wife?”

Joseph said calmly, “It will be soon.”

The hotel employees who heard this looked at each other as if they had corroborated something. Even the diplomat was looking at Hayden in surprise.

Hans and his wife were elated to congratulate them when they heard that they were about to get married. Jennifer even gave Hayden a hug, showing great enthusiasm. “Tell me when you get married. I have a friend who makes gorgeous wedding dresses.”

Hayden was blushing red as they hugged, hearing Jennifer’s words. And Hans teased her again.

Fortunately, the diplomat stepped out to relieve the situation, and they got back to their main topic. Hayden was then stopped being their topic, and she assigned the waiters to lead the people to their respective rooms.

The first day was to let the foreigners get over their jet lag, so there was no schedule for that day. Lunch was delivered to each person’s room. Hayden kept an eye on the whole process from delivering until the feedback was given back to avoid any accidents. She was assured after confirming there was no problem.

Hayden then had the time to get back to her room after everything was settled down. She took off her high-heeled shoes with her bare feet on the carpet. She lounged on the sofa, stretching as she yawned.

She woke up early in the morning and had waited until noon before the people arrived. She was so sleepy.

When she just lay down, someone came out behind the screen and moved toward the sofa, “Sleep on the bed if you want to sleep. The air conditioning temperature is low. You will catch a cold sleeping here.”

“I’m out of strength. I’ll just sleep here then.” Hayden was exhausted and sleepy. She raised her hand, “Just give me a blanket will be fine.”

Her slim arm wavered in the air for a while and finally fell on the back of the sofa. Joseph shook his head helplessly and walked over.

“Hey?” Hayden exclaimed as her body nestled in Joseph’s arms. Her eyes opened for a second and closed again hazily, grunting, “Sleeping on the sofa will be fine. So troublesome, you idle.”

She was such an ungrateful person.

Joseph thought of this and really wanted to drop her on the floor.

But when looking at her sleeping soundly in his arms, he was softened. He placed her gently on the bed, covering her with the quilt. Then he closed the curtains and turned the night light on.

He adjusted the temperature of the air conditioner before he left. Right at the moment when he closed the door, he glanced at the warm environment inside the room. Suddenly, he realized that he was doing something that he had never done before.
