On the same day, Hayden’s name was clearly written on the disciplinary notice about the relevant people in charge. She was suspended from duty without pay for one month and had to cooperate to accept the internal investigation of fire cause.

The personnel department utilized the notice that came out of nowhere in the early morning to reject Hayden’s resignation application with the excuse that ‘one is not allowed to resign during suspension from duty’.

Hayden had no place to vent her anger and she could not even go to the company.

Alayna visited and brought along some breakfast.

Stella sat on the hospital bed while having porridge. Her voice was still a little hoarse.

“Mommy, is Noah coming today?”

Hayden lowered her head to blow the porridge to make it cooler. Hearing this, she slightly frowned, “Noah isn’t feeling well these two days and he’s hospitalized. He isn’t in this hospital but when he gets well, he will come to see you.”

“What about Daddy?”

Under Harrison’s tutelage, Stella had successfully changed her way of calling Joseph in which she directly called him daddy.

Hayden, however, raised her head abruptly and frowned in displeasure, “He isn’t your daddy, don’t call him like that in the future.”

The sudden rebuke had frightened Stella. Her eyes instantly turned red, “Mommy.”

“Oh, it’s okay, it’s okay.” Alayna came to ease the situation and embraced Stella, “It’s your matter to quarrel with Joseph, why do you vent your anger to a child. Don’t cry, Stella.”

Stella was originally not a person who liked to cry before. It was just that she was frightened by the fire before and she kept feeling uneasy since she woke up in the emergency room yesterday. This time, it was just that Hayden’s voice was a little loud but she was scared again.

Seeing her daughter shrinking in Alayna’s arms while sobbing, Hayden was also vexed.

Hayden’s thoughts had all been seen through by her. Hayden was slightly embarrassed.

“I know that Noah has grown up without you so you’re guilty. Go and do whatever you should do, I’ll accompany Stella.”

Alayna’s tone was a bit impulsive and it seemed that she was a little angry.

Since Hayden knew that Noah was her son who was taken away from her that year, her attention was indeed mostly shifted to Noah. It was not false to say that she had neglected her daughter. After all, if it was not because she wished to let the two children get along well, she would not have let the two children stay together in the hotel and the matter that Stella was trapped in the fire would not happen.

Facing Alayna’s fury, Hayden did not know how to explain. She was indeed guilt-ridden but she had to get to the bottom of the cause of the fire this time.

“I’ll finish the matter as soon as possible and resign from the hotel.”

Before Hayden left, she assured Alayna, “Nothing like this will happen in the future.”

“What about Noah?”

“He’s my son. I’ll find a way to bring him back.”

The hotel temporarily gave an official notice regarding the fire.

It stated that the staff of the back kitchen violated the management rules of the back kitchen in which the staff smoked in the storeroom and then caused the fire to happen. The compensations for the customers who were frightened and having property loss were also in progress.

Not many public opinions were discussed on the Internet. The public relations department had taken an action in time in which the negative news was quickly suppressed when they came out for a while. But, that was just an official statement. The real reason was still not clear until now.

“What is going on?” Is it really Arnold who smoked in the storeroom? He has admitted it himself?”

Hayden asked her assistant, Jeff, to come out to talk about the fire.

Jeff was also with a face of confusion, “I’m not sure. This statement is issued by Manager Duncan and several managers of the personnel department and the public relations department after a discussion. Now, Arnold has already retired early and gone back to his house in Guangdong Province so we have no way to ask him. If it was not that his apprentice, Baron rushed in to save him out regardless of his own safety, Arnold already died.

“Baron? Yeah, I’m also thinking to ask you, how come I haven’t seen the man who carried Arnold out that day.”

“Baron was brought by Arnold from his hometown half a month ago so you haven’t seen him. He somehow enters our hotel through the back door and is now the apprentice in the back kitchen. His wages are calculated according to the internship salary and he hasn’t become a regular worker. But after the incident this time, seeing that he rescues somebody and avoids causing casualties in which this has helped the company, the personnel department makes an exception to let him become a regular worker.”

Hayden nodded. She did not ask about Baron again but asked.

“Can you get the surveillance video of the interior part of the kitchen and doorway that day for me?”

Jeff was slightly in a dilemma, “The police have taken the evidence and brought away the original copy but they’ve left a copy. It should be in the computer of the security room to be used for the internal investigation. It’s a very sensitive period now, isn’t the one who goes and asks for it taking the initiative to be shot by a gun?”

“You won’t be the one who is shot anyway.” Hayden looked at him, “I’ll take the responsibility if something happens. If you still treat me as your boss, find a way to get the surveillance video for me.”

“Boss, how can you say like that. Have I ever disobeyed your order?”

Jeff immediately showed a serious face, “Don’t worry, I’m bound to complete the task and find a way to rectify your name.”

“What do you mean by to rectify my name?” Hayden glanced at him suspiciously, “I’m suspended from duty for default, what do you mean by that?”

“Boss, you still don’t know?”

Jeff’s mouth slightly enlarged. He hesitated for a moment and honestly confessed.

“After the accident, people in the hotel say that you deliberately didn’t save Little Noah in order to let your own child inherit the property of the Beckham family after getting married to Mr. Beckham. Besides, everyone says that the reason Mr. Beckham suspends you from duty is that he knows about this matter.”

“Nonsense.” Hayden wrinkled her brow and said in displeasure, “Who is the one who always gossips? When I go back to work, the first thing I’ll do is to rectify the problem of gossiping. I’ve repeated so many times but they still can’t change this bad habit?”

“Not real is it?” Jeff immediately grinned, “I’ve already said it. These people are too free. Mr. Beckham is so close to you so how will you do this kind of thing. These people also keep spreading the news that you and Mr. Beckham have broken up…It’s indeed ridiculous.”

“Well, this is true.”

A cold and ghostly voice sounded opposite Jeff.

Jeff shivered and instantly felt that his head was clouded by ominous dark clouds.

They had really broken up?

Jeff’s face immediately sank. He was apparently on the verge of a breakdown. He had just promised his boss to get the video for her? Wasn’t this…standing on the wrong side and sailing close to the wind?
