Revenge On My First Love novel Chapter 353

Chapter 353 Big Surprise

In Helena's opinion, Gloria could like and pursue Noah. However, she should not vent her anger on Sophia after she failed to gain his heart.

Gazing at Sophia, Gloria seethed with rage.

Suddenly, Noah strode to her. "Gloria, haven't I told you not to bother Sophia?"

Gloria hated it the most when Noah defended Sophia.

"Noah, this woman has become Drake's girlfriend. What the heck is in your mind? Why are you still defending her?"

"Sophia didn't do anything wrong. She has rejected me several times. I insisted on guarding her myself."

When Gloria approached Sophia, Noah watched them.

In fact, he knew Sophia could easily teach Gloria a lesson if she wanted. However, for Helena's sake, Sophia didn't do anything.

On the contrary, Gloria had no idea about it and repeatedly provoked Sophia.

Therefore, Gloria thought Noah broke his principles to defend Sophia again. "Noah! What's the matter with you? What did she do to bewitch you? How can you always defend her?"

"Enough! Let's go there." Noah forcibly dragged her away.

Gloria was too reluctant. Sophia rarely returned to Pinkerton in recent years, so Gloria lacked a chance to scold her. Finally, she could see Sophia during Christmas and wanted to do something.

Suddenly, she realized Noah had dragged her away and it meant that they could spend time together alone.

This realization pleased Gloria.

During lunch, they all sat at the dining table, which was a long table, especially for holiday gatherings.

Countless dishes were served. Sara wished to sit next to Travis, but he sat in the chair in front as the oldest son of the host family.

In fact, they had been generous enough to Sara and her parents to let them stay for lunch.

In the afternoon, they played the poker game.

Bard had lost money on Christmas Eve, so he refused to join them. Others formed several groups.

At Sophia's table, Gloria, Chloe, and Sara were playing. Gloria didn't want to win but only wanted to give Sophia a hard time.

Sophia wasn't angry. After all, to gain her favor, Sara was willing to secretly help her.

Therefore, Sophia won many rounds.

In the end, Gloria threw the cards and said, "I don't want to continue. I want to go home."

Her mother asked, "What's the matter, Gloria?"

Usually, the guests would leave Lawson Manor after dinner. She could tell Gloria didn't have a good mood today.

"I don't feel well, Mom. I want to go home."

"You can't go. Ask Mrs. Lawson to arrange a guestroom for you. It's a holiday gathering. You cannot leave earlier than planned."

Gloria bit her lip tightly. Whenever she came to Lawson Manor, a second seemed to be a year for her. However, she had to be obedient to her mother. After all, her mother always reminded her kindly. If her father's attention was attracted, she would be in trouble.

"You can rest. I'll play." Helena sat in her chair.

As planned, the guests didn't leave until evening, nor did Sara and her parents. It was Christmas Day. Although no one liked Sara, they didn't kick her out.

Lawson Manor finally quieted down. When Sophia returned to her bedroom and unlocked her phone, she wished to receive Drake's message. However, she was wrong. There was nothing from him.

Feeling annoyed, Sophia tossed her phone away and went to bed.

The following morning, when Sophia woke up, she looked in a bad mood.

Laura looked at her worriedly. "Didn't you sleep well last night, Sophia?"

Sophia managed a smile. "Nah. I'm fine, Mom. Don't worry."

However, the more she pretended, the more her mother was worried.

"Tell me honestly. Drake stopped contacting you after you returned to town, right?"

Laura always kept an eye on her daughter, who she treasured the most.

"Stop wild guessing, Mom. He was super busy during the daytime, so he called me at night. You and Dad didn't hear it."

Laura was confused, pondering if her intuition was wrong.

"Did you have a fight?"

"How could it be possible?"

Laura sighed helplessly. Her daughter had grown up and refused to have a girls' talk with her now. Laura felt disappointed.

Right then, they heard some sounds in the yard.

Usually, people would have a family gathering and prepare for the New Year after Christmas. Laura and Sophia wondered who had visited.

Looking to the gate, they saw Emma and Baron walking towards the house with gift bags.

Drake was too tall. Although following them, Laura and Sophia caught sight of him immediately. He also carried many gift bags while striding towards the house.

Feeling surprised, Laura greeted Emma, "Morning, Emma. Why are you all here?"

Emma entered the living room first, followed by Baron, Drake, and Aria.

"Of course, we should come over. In the past, I always expected Sophia to be my daughter-in-law. Since I got in touch with Drake, I've been expecting it."

"Finally, my wish came true. Sophia will be my daughter-in-law soon."

While speaking, Emma looked at Sophia with a satisfied smile.

She had wished Sophia could marry Drake for many years, and finally, her wish came true.

"Why didn't you call us ahead?" Laura was indeed surprised and unprepared.

"I didn't do so because I wanted to give Sophia a surprise."

'A surprise?'

Sophia stiffened, realizing Drake had stopped contacting her in the past two days because he and Emma wanted to surprise her.

Drake gazed at her without blinking while smiling. Seemingly he wanted Sophia to praise his acting skills.

Suddenly, Sophia almost burst into tears.

The other Lawsons also realized that the Rileys arranged all of this purposely.

Emma added, "In the past, I always spent Christmas with you all. Of course, I know your family's schedule during the holiday well. Today, it's your gathering day..."

She broke off, as everyone understood what she implied.

"That's why we came over. Sophia, did you think Drake had been cold to you in the past few days?"

This was the first time that Sophia had been so excited. Earlier, she repeatedly wondered what she had done wrong.

It turned out that Drake cold-shouldered her on purpose to make his visit surprise her.

"Ms. Glass, you..."
