Revenge On My First Love novel Chapter 356

Chapter 356 Drake Is Too Clingy

Bard chimed in, "A guestroom for him? At midnight, Drake will knock on Sophia's door. Why don't you let them share the same bedroom?"

Sophia and Drake stayed in the same bedroom in Emma's villa. However, it wouldn't work in Lawson Manor.

Emma reminded Drake sternly, "You cannot go to Sophia's bedroom at night, Drake."

Her son must have a good demeanor.

Drake chuckled, "Well, in this case, it doesn't make sense for me to stay here. I've been tortured at home. After staying here, if I cannot stay in Sophia's bedroom, I'll be tortured more. Forget about it. I'll go home this evening."

Then he looked at Sophia. "Come back to Sealand after New Year's Day. You should know how much I miss you."

'Again? Spare me the PDA!' Others rolled their eyes.

In others' presence, Sophia's cheeks turned crimson.

Laura hadn't prepared anything at home, so they dined out for lunch in a restaurant.

When Sophia went to the ladies' room, she encountered several former classmates.

"Sophia Lawson? I didn't expect to meet you here. Are you having lunch here?"

Another woman chimed in, "Having lunch here? She should be working here."

"I agreed. Sophia, your family was poor when you were at school, but you were a straight-A student. Anyway, since we were classmates before, you can tell me if you want to change a job. I'll help you find a new one."

Sophia didn't know what made them believe she was working in the restaurant, but she wasn't going to explain.

"Thank you. I like working here."

"Alas... Sophia, I know you have high self-esteem. It is a fancy restaurant. You are a charming woman, so you must be harassed by many male patrons. It's not proper for a woman to do such a job."

Another classmate chimed in, "Probably she enjoys it very much. You should not be so nosy."

Sophia narrowed her gaze at them, feeling speechless.

"By the way, Sophia, we have a classmate reunion tomorrow evening. You must be there."

"Why don't you ask her if she has time to attend it? Waitresses in this kind of restaurant have limited holidays. She's tried so hard to find a job. Probably she cannot take a night off."

Sophia ignored them completely. She would definitely get sick if she was easily annoyed by such people.

"Well, I don't have..."

Before she finished her refusal, the woman asking her to attend the reunion interrupted her, "No, Sophia, you must come. It's the first gathering after our graduation. You were the cutest girl on campus back then. Without your presence, our gathering would be less fun, so you must come!"

In the eyes of Sophia's female classmates, Sophia was good-looking and was a straight-A student in campus, but now she could only be a waitress in a restaurant, which made them disdain her more. And they called her "the cutest girl" and invited her to the reunion just to humiliate her.

Sophia had no interest at all, but her female classmate insisted, "Sophia, if you don't go, I'll call you."

"Or, I can call a cab to pick you up."

With those words, she turned away.

Sophia was at a loss for what to say for a moment.

After all, she still remembered what had happened after meeting Julia last time.

When she returned to the private box, Drake held her hand and asked, "What took you so long? I was so worried."

"Relax. What could have happened to me? Stop worrying."

"How can I stop it? This is not my turf, after all."

Sophia chuckled, "But this is my turf. No matter who dares to bully you, I'll teach him a lesson."

"It's so nice of you, Honey."

Drake wanted to press his head on her shoulder.

"Hiss!"

Bard visibly shuddered as he was sitting next to them.

"Come on, you guys! We're still here. Can you care about our feelings?"

Drake retorted leisurely, "If you want to show PDA too, please go ahead."

Bard couldn't find a word to retort.

After all, he hadn't had a girlfriend.

They returned to Lawson Manor after lunch.

Drake was clingy to Sophia for the whole afternoon, following her everywhere.

Everyone could tell how reluctant Drake was when it was time to part.

"Drake, you won't be busy after going home. Why don't you stay?" Laura suggested while smiling.

Her suggestion was appealing.

However, he felt frustrated, thinking he couldn't stay in Sophia's room.

"Mrs. Lawson, thank you, but I'll go home. Next time, when I visit the Lawson family, I'll stay here as your son-in-law and share Sophia's bedroom."

The Lawson brothers gaped at him wordlessly, realizing the reason Drake chose to leave was he couldn't share Sophia's bedroom.

They couldn't help wondering what was in his mind.

Emma glanced at him and dragged him away. "Enough! Stop embarrassing us. Go! Go! Go!"

Drake looked at her innocently, thinking his actions made him manly. He believed her parents had experienced the same.

Before sitting in the car, he hugged Sophia tightly.

Fortunately, New Year's Day was coming soon, and Sophia would return to Sealand shortly after. He decided to tolerate it.

After the Rileys were gone, Laura shook her head helplessly. "Drake is so clingy. How can you bear it, Sophia?"

The man who controlled the economic lifeline of Sealand was like another man in Sophia's presence. It was indeed surprising.

Sophia chuckled, "Isn't Dad clingy to you, Mom?"

Laura had given birth to five children, and Sophia was the only girl, so she was the most precious one in this family. However, Sophia had never forgotten what her brothers had been through since childhood.

Most of the time, when they were clingy to their mother, Abbott stopped them, "We gave birth to so many children so that you could play with your siblings. Be good, boys. Don't pester us."

Although the Lawson brothers were unwilling, they didn't dare to challenge Abbott, so they had to leave them alone.

Laura didn't expect Sophia to mention the bygones, so she coughed and said, "Well... I'm still busy..."

Then she turned away like she was escaping.

Abbott snickered. "Your mother is shy."

Suddenly, Laura looked back and growled, "Come here. Why are you standing there?"

Abbott followed her obediently.

The children shrugged and exchanged glances with each other.

After gathering with her family and friends during the holiday, Sophia had forgotten about the classmate reunion completely.
