Revenge On My First Love novel Chapter 380

Chapter 380 You Don't Have to Shut Me out

Sophia gripped her phone tightly. After a long pause, she asked, "Is Drake alright?"

Of course, she didn't forget his reaction at the hospital when they broke up.

The last time they broke up, though she hadn't seen how how he suffered, she could imagine how hard it was for him based on the information she got.

But this time... she had no idea how he would act.

"I don't know how to say. I can't tell if he's fine."

"What?"

"I will put it in this way. When he came back, he asked us to have dinner with him and told us that you had broken up. We were all shocked, after all, you guys love each other so much. I thought even all the couples in the world broke up, you wouldn't."

"Later, we found out what had happened. Bailey told him not to be too sad. There's still a chance you guys may get together one day. But he said he was okay with it and that he had let it go. Well, for me, he's even more indifferent than before."

"Anyway, I think he's really creepy. Now, he might be able to hide his true feelings, but I'm afraid he's going to break down one day."

Sophia kept silent. She could imagine what was going on with Drake.

"Are you alright? Sophia?"

Sophia let out a faint smile, "You know, meh."

Suddenly, she couldn't figure out what was the meaning of life after losing Drake.

"Sophia..." Chloe cried in grief.

"I'm okay. Don't worry about me. There's still a lot of work to do. I won't do anything silly."

"If you are sad, you can call me, whatever time will do."

"I know. And Chloe, would you please keep an eye on Drake? I suppose the reason why he could act strong was because he wants to look into this whole thing. Since I'm in a different country currently, though there are some traces to follow, I wouldn't be as quick as him. Once you know anything, fill me in."

"I know. Take care, Sophia."

"I will."

Hanging up the phone, Sophia went back to work.

The situation in the company was tricky. Luckily, she went back to the company in time, otherwise who knew how long it would take before someone took care of these affairs. If they were put off any longer, the more problematic they would become.

Her phone rang again when it was almost in the afternoon.

Sophia was so busy that she picked up the phone without checking who it was.

"Sophia, why are you not taking care of my son? Where are you? You said you are going to make up for him. But where are you? Is this the good faith you and your family show?"

Sophia put aside her work, "Mrs. Greenspan, I want to stay there taking care of your son. But the minute I walk in, you shut me out like I was a monster. What do I stay there for?"

"For what? I call you and you come here, don't you understand? Are you playing on words with me?"

"Mrs. Greenspan, I can stay there and look after your son, but please trust me. If you can't, I'll take care of my own business. Now, please excuse me."

Then she hung up the phone.

Mrs. Greenspan had never seen any woman so arrogant. How could she adopt such a condescending manner when it was all her fault?

When Sophia went back, it was almost eight o'clock in the evening. She brought something to eat for Noah and Bard.

But before she could enter Noah's room, she was stopped by Mrs. Greenspan.

"Who said you may come in? And the stuff in your hand, what do you mean? Do you think you can earn our forgiveness by simply buying some snacks? Do you think Noah is able to eat them?"

Sophia was so enraged that she let out an ironic smile.

"What are you laughing at? Are you laughing at me?"

"No."

"You are. I've never seen a woman like you. You only come here when you want to. What do you take the Greenspan family for?"

Sophia answered calmly, "Mrs. Greenspan, don't you think it's not me who's being unreasonable?"

"What do you mean? It's my fault?"

"Isn't it?"

Mrs. Greenspan was about to say something when Sophia interrupted her, "I said I would make up for him, take responsibility and look after him. But you won't even let me get close to him. Since I can't help here, I thought I should go back and do my work. And you're even blaming me for that? Am I supposed to spend all my time here?"

"Nonsense. You are supposed to be here whenever I call you. It's what you should do."

Sophia smiled again, "You mean, now that Noah is in the hospital, I'm supposed to revolve around him?"

"What are you talking about? Shouldn't you? What else do you want?"

Sophia eventually drew the conclusion that, though she was trying to talk with Mrs. Greenspan, the latter was being ridiculous. Mrs. Greenspan would only feel satisfied when she was even more pathetic than Noah.

Sophia stuffed all the things into Mrs. Greenspan's hands, "These are all edible things for Noah. I brought them to you. If you don't like them, just throw them away."

Then she turned around and left.

Mrs. Greenspan was even more vexed with Sophia's attitude.

Gloria approached Mrs. Greenspan and comforted, "Mrs. Greenspan, don't be angry with her. It's not worth it. You know, she's always been like this. She never respects anyone."

"I was a fool to believe she's a good girl and the right person for Noah. See her attitude towards me? She's so disgusting!"

"Right, don't be bothered by such a bitch..."

"Gloria."

Noah couldn't bear it any longer. How dared she curse Sophia in front of him?

Gloria trembled instantly.

"If I ever hear you say anything bad about Sophia, get lost." He didn't want Gloria to stay here anyway, but his mother insist that Gloria should stay so that the two of them would be more intimate.

However, Noah didn't even want to look at her.

Mrs. Greenspan handed those snacks to Gloria, "Throw them away. She probably wants to poison Noah with this stuff she bought, so that she'd be able to shed responsibility."

"Got it."

Gloria was about to do it when Noah shouted, "Give me."

Since Gloria didn't want him to eat anything from Sophia, she pretended she heard nothing.
