Chapter 387 Drake Picked Her up

Sophia apologized inwardly, 'I'm sorry, Bonnie. Your father and I cannot get back together. Let's not cause your father any difficulty. You stay here. I'll be right back.'

When Sophia's flight landed in Sealand, she felt everything was familiar yet strange.

She thought she would see Chloe when she walked out of the exit. Much to her surprise, Drake was waiting.

Sophia was taken aback for a long time before returning to her senses.

She had expected to see him again, but it was too soon.

Drake took the initiative to take over her suitcase. "They all are busy, so they cannot pick you up here. Bailey asked me to do it. I happened to have time."

"I see."

Sophia followed him.

This was the first time Drake had picked her up at the airport exit. The last time he did it, he pretended to be a taxi driver and waited for her in the car.

Everything seemed to happen a century ago.

Drake put her suitcase in the trunk and was about to open the door next to the passenger's seat. However, Sophia had sat in the backseat.

In silence, Drake sat in the driver's seat.

Sophia had known Drake was dating another woman, so she didn't think it was appropriate for her to sit in the passenger's seat.

On the way, they kept silent awkwardly.

While driving, Drake checked on her and tried to raise a topic. However, Sophia didn't look at him at all.

He didn't know Sophia only avoided his gaze. While he didn't look at her, she sneaked peeks at him from time to time.

Sophia almost burst into tears many times but tried to repress her emotions, so Drake couldn't notice it.

When they arrived at the destination, Drake said, "I'll help you carry the suitcase upstairs. Then let's go to see Chloe."

"It's alright. I can carry it myself. Thanks, though."

Sophia got down the car. They were not dating anymore. She didn't want his girlfriend to misunderstand.

Drake didn't insist on helping her as he could read her mind.

He watched her carry down the suitcase and enter the apartment, clenching his fists gradually.

The apartment used to be a place where their most beautiful memories were. Somehow, as time went by, they parted eventually.

He wished he could turn back the time and restart everything.

Drake didn't wait long as Sophia came out of the apartment quickly.

Nodding at him, she still sat in the backseat.

Drake started the engine and chitchatted with her intentionally or unintentionally. However, they only talked about Chloe and Bailey.

Sophia responded to him casually.

They arrived 20 minutes later.

As soon as Sophia got off, Chloe hugged her tightly. "Sophia, finally! I miss you so much!"

Sophia smiled and hugged her back. Although they had been in touch in the past two years, and Chloe often returned to Pinkerton, it was different than before when they could see each other daily.

"I miss you, too. You look gorgeous, Chloe. I'm sure you'll be the most charming bride."

"OK. OK. Thanks for your compliment... How about you?" Chloe broke off and saw Drake. She hit Bailey in anger. "What's wrong with you? I told you I was too busy to pick up Sophia. Why did you send Drake?"

Bailey felt wronged.

He planned to ask Flynn to do him a favor, but Drake took the initiative to offer the ride to Sophia. Bailey couldn't do anything.

Under Drake's gaze, Bailey knew he must admit it was his fault.

"Honey, why couldn't Drake pick her up? They know each other..."

He broke off under Chloe's murderous gaze and buttoned his lip obediently.

Sophia chuckled, "It's alright. By the way, I forgot to thank Mr. Riley for the ride." She turned to Drake and said, "Thank you so much, Mr. Riley."

Her way of calling Drake made others feel awkward.

Drake and Sophia used to do PDA in public. Others had never expected them to break up one day.

"You are welcome, Ms. Lawson," Drake calmly replied, much to others' surprise.

Chloe hurriedly dragged Sophia away. The latter added, "Oh, Noah asked me to pass the cash as a wedding gift to you. He's just checked out of the hospital, so he can't make it."

"That's not important. I do appreciate his kindness."

Although Chloe sounded polite, she took over the cash immediately.

Drake overheard their conversation, looking expressionless.

Flynn felt weird and asked, "Sophia has married Noah, right? Why did she and Noah give Chloe two separate gifts?"

"Ahem. Ahem..." Bailey coughed to attract their attention. "Hurry. Do me a favor."

Drake glanced at him, and the latter had a guilty look.

Chloe and Sophia wanted a girls' talk as they finally met again.

"Are you going to keep it this way all your life, Sophia?"

Sophia managed a smile and replied, "Ehn. Do you think any man is willing to marry such a woman like me?"

"What about your senior, Rashad Witt?"

Rashad was Sophia's senior in high school. They kept in touch after an occasional encounter later.

Sophia said helplessly, "Do you think it's possible? I have a daughter. The Greenspan family is unwilling to take me in. You think Rashad's mother will agree?"

"Forget about it. I've stopped thinking of getting married. I'm so lucky to have Bonnie."

Chloe broke off as she was at a loss for what to say. When Sophia took care of Noah abroad, she found out she was pregnant.

Chloe wanted to tell Drake about it, but Sophia determinedly stopped her.

Later, Sophia gave birth to her daughter. Although she couldn't marry Drake, she wanted to keep Bonnie as the connection between them selfishly.

Mrs. Greenspan had detested Sophia already. After Sophia had a baby, she became enraged and sent her back to Pinkerton.

However, Sophia still secretly helped to avoid Noah's authority being usurped by his father's mistresses.
