Revenge On My First Love novel Chapter 390

Chapter 390 Accident

Sophia didn't know what to say.

Emma looked at Drake again and heaved a sigh. "All right, Sophia. Take care. I'll visit you in Pinkerton."

"That would be great."

Sophia left the house, waving goodbye to Emma and Aria.

When Drake wanted to give her a ride, she refused.

"I've called a cab. Thank you, Mr. Riley."

Her tone distanced herself from him.

Drake failed to find a reason to convince her, nodding. "OK. Take care, Ms. Lawson."

"Thanks."

The taxi arrived, so Sophia sat in.

After she left, Emma sighed, "Just give up, Drake. Sophia has given up already."

Her words poked Drake's raw nerves. Drake couldn't believe Sophia had completely given up.

Aria looked at him in frustration. She knew how Drake spent each day after breaking up with Sophia.

Although he didn't look as painful as the last time, Aria could tell he was suffering more.

Aria could also tell Sophia had changed as the latter had stopped gazing at Drake.

Aria agreed with her mother -- Drake and Sophia couldn't reconcile anymore.

When Sophia met Chloe, the latter asked, "How did it go? Did you see your teacher?"

"Of course. It was just a visit."

"You and Drake... Have you..." Chloe looked at her curiously.

"Nothing between us. Let it be."

Chloe sighed.

After everyone knew the ending of Sophia and Drake, he or she heaved a sigh.

Sophia helped Chloe in the afternoon. At dinnertime, Drake arrived.

Sophia had been prepared to meet him often after returning to Sealand. Whenever they met, she appeared very calm. However, only God knew how fiercely her heart was thumping.

This time, Sophia didn't sit next to Drake.

Their friends gradually accepted that they had broken up.

While eating, Sophia received a call from Noah.

Chloe joked, "Sophia, is Noah calling to remind you?"

Her words were unintentional, but others subconsciously looked over at Drake.

"I need to answer the call. Please excuse me."

Sophia nodded at others while holding the phone before leaving the private box.

When she was outside, she answered the call.

"Hello, Noah? What's the matter?"

"Nothing, Sophia. I want to talk to Chloe. I feel sorry for not attending her wedding."

"We're having dinner. I can send you some video clips later. OK?"

"No, thanks. Sorry for interrupting. Well, I just want to say hi to her. She'll return to Pinkerton after the wedding, anyway. I can still see her."

His words made sense.

However, Sophia didn't know it was just Noah's excuse to make a video call to her.

"Is Drake having dinner with you as well?"

"Well, yup," Sophia answered simply.

"Sophia..."

Before Noah spoke again, Sophia interrupted him, "Noah, I'll call you back after dinner."

"OK."

Sophia ended the call. She didn't want others to wait for her too long as it was too impolite.

When she turned around and was about to return to the private box, a man suddenly ran over and bumped into her.

Her phone slid down the handrail and dropped.

"Ouch!"

A man's head was smashed.

Sophia's back hit the handrail. She would have fallen down if Drake hadn't pulled her back in time.

The man who hit her seemed to be in a hurry. While running away, he yelled, "Sorry. Sorry. I have something urgent. Please excuse me."

Chloe seemed to hear the noises outside and walked out the private box with Bailey.

"What happened, Sophia?"

Only then did Sophia realize she was still in Drake's arms. She disengaged herself from his answered immediately and answered, "Nothing. I was bumped by someone."

Suddenly, a loud voice sounded downstairs. "Who's upstairs? Your phone smashed on a man."

"Don't you want to come down to check the victim? He has fainted. What if he died?"

Sophia could tell it was severe, so she trotted downstairs.

Chloe and Bailey followed her.

They saw a man lying on the floor, looking pale and almost dying. Sophia reached a finger to test his breath. He was still alive.

Then she saw her phone had been smashed into pieces, which couldn't be fixed. She looked at Chloe for help.

The latter nodded. "I'll call the ambulance."

The man who yelled just now looked at them in anger. "What are you doing? We were having dinner, but why did you toss your phone down? It's a murder."

Sophia replied apologetically, "Sorry. I was answering a call upstairs. Suddenly, a man bumped into me, so my phone dropped. I'm terribly sorry."

"Apology doesn't work. My friend has parents, in-laws, and children to provide for. If he died, do you know what responsibility you should take?"

"I'm truly sorry. Don't worry. I'll be responsible. No matter what, I won't run away."

The man sneered, "Didn't you say someone had bumped into you? Why didn't you find him out and let him be responsible as well?"

Before Sophia answered, a voice sounded, "Mister!"

Drake appeared next to Sophia. Although he broke off, the powerful aura given off by him scared the man.

"Who... Who are you?"

The people having dinner downstairs were all wealthy, but all of them was out of Drake's league.

"Shut the fuck up. Don't annoy me."

Drake was irritated by the man's words earlier.

The latter was frightened and buttoned his lip obediently.

The ambulance arrived soon. The doctors and nurses checked up on the victim, lifted him, and sent him into the ambulance.

Sophia followed them. Earlier, she also asked the victim's friend to inform his family about the accident.

Chloe wanted to follow her, but Bailey stopped her.

"Are you nuts, Bailey? Sophia is in trouble. I must help her."

"Save it. Someone has followed her already."
