Second Marriage novel Chapter 307

One of the ushers went to find Nathan. Charlotte could not go in yet and had to wait outside.

But because she was wearing the dress, the wind was blowing and it was particularly cold outside.

She subconsciously reached out and hugged her arm. Several ushers noticed. One of the girls sidled away and said, "It's windy and cold. Would you like to stand next to me?”

Hearing that, Charlotte showed an expression of gratitude. Just as she was about to step and stand there, a shorter man beside the girl said out loud, "What did you ask her to stand next to you? Who knows if she's a good person or a bad person?"

Charlotte froze in place because of this sentence, and could not move another step.

"Don't talk nonsense, she doesn't look that way, and besides, the party is almost over. She would have come earlier if she had had any other purpose, and she's hurt."

"So what?” The short one snapped back, “Many women want Mr. Kennedy. Maybe all those injuries on her body are fake, now the makeup technology is so good."

"Probably not?"

Charlotte was embarrassed. She bit her lower lip and said in a low voice, “You have someone to ask. You will know if what I said is true or not soon. I did not do anything harmful, and I'm not trying to force my way in. There's no need to say that."

"Yes, Betty, you have gone too far. Let's wait!"

The short girl got angry and shouted, "Do you think my words are bad? You didn't bring the invitation, and my colleague helped you with that. What's your attitude now? Are you here to get approach to Mr. Kennedy?"

"Stop it."

"No."

Charlotte dropped her eyes. Never mind, as long as she could get in.

Seeing that she did not speak, the short girl was somewhat pleased, “You dare not speak? If you're lying, I'll give you a piece of advice. It's not too late to leave now. When Nathan comes, you can’t leave.”

Charlotte did not answer her, but maintained the original movement.

She was only wondering if the party would soon be over. When Nathan came, could she find Kennedy?

"Stop speaking."

Seeing that she did not speak, the girl felt bored to soliloquize, so she made no further talk.

The person who had come in to find Nathan finally was back.

His pace was in a hurry, but Charlotte did not see others from his back. She felt cold in heart. Didn’t Nathan come? So she could not find Kennedy tonight?

Before he came to the front, Charlotte quickly walked over to the person. But the short girl directly put her hand in her way, “Where are you going? Wait here."

Charlotte had to bite her lower lip and wait in place.

That man was soon in front of her.

"Well? Is she an impostor?"

Charlotte also looked at the man nervously.

The man looked embarrassed, and then he scratched his scalp. "Sorry...I'd been looking all around but failed to find Nathan! I'm really sorry, or...Would you mind waiting here a little longer and I will look for him again?"

Charlotte, “...How long will the party be over?"

"About ten minutes."

"It should be too late. Can you bend the rules once? I want to go in now."

"Well......"

"Of course not. Who do you think you are? Take advantage of this? I'm telling you, as long as I'm here, it's not possible! You're not going to get in tonight. I think you're a humbug, trying to get in at this hour? Make her leave. If she doesn't leave, we'll call the police at once. They'll take her to the police station and show her what happens to a liar."

Charlotte bit her lower lip and then said, “Call the police and make it a scene then. I don't care. I am telling you the truth.”

For a while, her temperament unexpectedly stunned those people. A girl whispered, “I think she is telling the truth, and it seems that she had a good relationship with Mr. Kennedy. We had better let her in."

"Millie, you are too good. She literally frightens you, and you believe her."

"I..."

"Mr. Manfred is here!" Someone whispered, and then several people looked behind Charlotte, with shock on their faces, "It is Mr. Manfred. He looks badly hurt. What's the matter?"

Hearing that, Charlotte’s face changed and she turned around.

Manfred who got a pale face came over pressing his thin lips. He was thin and the cold sweat was still on his forehead. He looked very weak.

"Why does Mr. Manfred come at this hour? And... He looks terrible. What's going on?"

A few people were still discussing, but Charlotte turned toward Manfred and then asked, “What are you doing there? I told you to go back to the hospital. Why..."

Charlotte was angry and anxious. It was agreed that he would go back to hospital after sending her here, but he still came here!

Seeing that she came to him, Manfred gave a smile and said in a soft voice, “I remember you have no invitation, so I told the driver to go back. I agreed to send you to him, so let me see you go in."

"You..."

A few ushers understood now.

What Charlotte just told them was true!

She was not a liar! The wounds on the body were all real!

Betty the short girl was frightened. She seemed to have offended the wrong people, but she really felt that this woman was impostor.

How could she be a real acquaintance?

Manfred took a look at her, and then walked over to the group,

"We had an accident on the way here, and now the invitation is missing. For my sake, can she go in?"
