Second Marriage novel Chapter 333

Charlotte lowered her eyes and stared at her toes in a daze.

"Charlotte, our family have been kind to you, even if you are not my daughter, I have offered you a lot since you were a little child. Now the Nelson family finds you, and you become Mrs. Wilson’s daughter. You don’t want to disown us now, do you? Of course, it doesn’t matter if you want to disown us. You know, you gotta cover the big expense for raising you up."

Charlotte looked up at her in amazement.

When she was still hesitating, she didn't expect Mrs. Wilson to tell her the truth so quickly.

Her eyes trembled, "So...Am I really not your biological daughter?"

Mrs. Wilson wondered about her reactions, why was she upset? Mr. Wilson stood aside, staring at Charlotte with a mixture of emotions, and sighed, "Charlotte, you are definitely... not our daughter, ... you were a child we adopted from the orphanage."

Mr. Wilson said gently as usual. Charlotte gave him a look and found that her father seemed to be much older than before. She could see he cared for her in his dull eyes, but his words hurt her.

She lowered her eyes again and said with a wry smile, "I didn't expect all of this to be true. I have considered I myself was your biological daughter until now. I didn’t believe what Megan said before, but I didn't expect... all of this... is true."

"Are you okay?" Mrs. Wilson couldn't help but look at her in surprise when she hearing Charlotte’s words, "To be a member of Nelson family is better for you, isn’t it? I got to know that although it is not as prominent as the Moore family, it is still a leading family in B City. What’s wrong with being a daughter of this family? Charlotte, get real. From now on, you are one of the family member of the Nelson family, Mrs. Nelson’s daughter. We are honored and privileged to be your adoptive parents. Don’t forget Christina - she’s your sister."

Speaking of this, Mrs. Wilson came over and put her hands on Charlotte’s shoulders, "Did you hear me? Your sister loves you most, and she has always known that you care about her very much. If there is anything you can do for her...you know, you should be there if she needs you. Or, do you think the Nelson family want another daughter? How about bringing her to the Nelson family"

"..." Charlotte was speechless.

"I'll ask you one last time, ain't I your daughter? You lied to me for wealth and honour, right? We have lived together for so many years, I don't believe..."

"What nonsense are you talking about? What do you mean I lied to you for wealth and honour? How can lineage be faked? Besides...you are from the Nelson family indeed. Even if you are not their daughter, you are not our daughter. Your father is right, you are the child we adopted in the orphanage."

"Why?" Charlotte gave a wry smile "Why... did you want to adopt me?"

Mrs. Wilson turned her face away, "Don't ask me, anyway...that’s it."

Mr. Wilson sighed and told her the truth.

"At the beginning, we married for many years but she didn’t get pregnant. Then a fortune teller advised us to adopt one child in a orphanage. Unexpectedly, we met you when we got there. You were adorable, so we liked you very much, then took you home."

Having said that, Charlotte could probably guess what happened next.

"But you didn't expect that not long after you adopted me, you would have your own daughter, right?"

He nodded, "Yes, that was something we didn't expect."

"So, after you had your own biological daughter, you began to neglect me, right?"

Thinking of this, Charlotte couldn't help but laugh, "Actually, I have been considered that you treat Christina much better than me because she was my younger sister. Besides, I have always persuaded myself that I was her elder sister, so it was reasonable to be good to her. It’s just that I have never thought that I was not your biological daughter."

She still couldn’t accept it.

"Charlotte, what are you doing here today? You are a member of the Nelson family now. Why did you talk about your past? Do you come here for revenge?" Mrs. Wilson said angrily. Mr. Wilson hurriedly stopped her, "Don’t talk nonsense. As you can see, she’s depressed now, does she look like coming for revenge?? She probably cannot bear it..."

"What can’t she bear it? My dear Christina ran away after knowing this. Why can’t she bear it? She is going to be a princess. My poor Christina has to live in poverty with us all the same. Ooh...our family is suffering terribly."

Speaking of this, Mother Shen began to howl and cry.

Mr. Wilson was upset about her crying, "Don't make trouble! Do you know what do you look like? Although Charlotte is not our biological daughter, she is our adopted child. Don't you know her? She is not a snob at all!"

Hearing this, Mrs. Wilson stopped crying quickly as if she thought of something. Then she rushed towards Charlotte, and put her hands on Charlotte’s shoulders again. She looked fierce with her wide eyes.

"That's right. Charlotte, you are not a snob... Then...Why don't you give your position to Christina? Let’s tell the Nelson family that they got it wrong. Christina is the girl they’ve been looking for, not you! I swear to you that as long as Christina joins the Nelson family and becomes Mrs. Nelson’s daughter, I will treat you very well in the future."

She was mad, talking nonsense.

Originally, Charlotte just came to verify her identity, but she didn't expect to hear the words that tore her heart apart. She stared at Mrs. Wilson blankly, and her pink-white lips quivered.

"In you opinion,...do you think I should give her whatever she wants?"

Mrs. Wilson was shocked, and then shook her head, "It's not like that, but...you are her elder sister, Shouldn't you leave the good things for her? Charlotte, I beg you to give your identity to Christina, and she will repay you for your generosity. Then you will still have a good future."

Charlotte couldn't help but laugh, her laughter was so bitter that she couldn't stop.

Mrs. Wilson looked at her weirdly.

When Charlotte’s laughter stopped, she became distant and indifferent, and even her voice became cold, "What if I refuse it?"

"what?"

"If I refuse to give her my identity, and accept the fact that I am from Nelson family, how will you treat me?"

"...Don't you like glory and wealth? So what's the problem with giving it to your sister? Charlotte, I should take the credit for raising you for more than 20 years!"

"So, you always get your way to arrange my life and take everything away from me? If that's the case, then..."
