Second Marriage novel Chapter 460

“Mr. Kennedy is a client, so the meeting place is decided by him.” Nathan made a lukewarm reply.

Alice paused for a moment and did not reply.

Yeah, he was the client. His thoughts were the most important. He could book wherever he wanted.

Alice didn't know where Kennedy booked, so she did not know how long it would take to be there. She took out then her phone and texted Yanis, saying that if she could not come back before it was time to get off work, Yanis took Jack home and did not have to wait for her.

After sending the messages, Alice put the phone back in her bag, and then leaned on the seat and closed eyes to have some sleep.

She wanted to have a rest, but she actually fell asleep. When she woke up, the car had stopped, and it was quiet. Nathan was no longer in the car.

Alice looked around, only to find that it was a restaurant not far from the seaside.

In the dining room, a familiar figure could be seen in the distance.

That was Kennedy.

Alice rubbed her eyes, arranged her clothes and then opened the door and walked to Kennedy.

She had been already there, so she didn't have anything to be sentimental about.

She went directly to Kennedy and sat down opposite him.

“You woke up.”

When she got off the car, Kennedy knew it, but he did not expect that she would calmly sit in front of him. The more indifferent she was, the less confidence Kennedy was.

Because, this was the first time Alice asked him out.

The waiter walked over, “Miss, what would you like to drink?”

Alice slightly smiled, “A cup of coffee, thank you.”

She had just woken up and was sleepy.

“Ok, please wait a moment.”

The waiter left. Alice looked at the shop’s decoration, mainly blue, complemented with the color of blue sea

They were both silent. When the coffee was served, Alice said thank, and then stirred the cup of coffee with a spoon.

“Mr. Kennedy.”

She called him politely.

Kennedy frowned with dissatisfaction, “If you're here to talk business, you can call me Mr. Kennedy, but for the rest of the day, you mustn't say anything personal. If you're here to ask personal questions, then say my name.”

He could no longer bear this woman calling him so strangely.

Hearing that, Alice stopped stirring the coffee. After a moment, she looked up at him and spoke, “Ok, we won't talk about work today but private affairs.”

Kennedy fixed his eyes on her, “Say my name then.”

Alice, “...”

“Do you have to put me through this?”

“You think I'm giving you a hard time?” Kennedy frowned, “What did I do?”

Alice gawked at him and then said with a smile, “What do you think? Don’t you know that?”

“Tell me.” Kennedy tapped the table with fingertip, looking casual.

His attitude angered Alice, she took a deep breath, and then began to accuse Kennedy’s crimes.

“Inexplicably, you placed an order to my company, constantly appeared in front of me, put forward a variety of impertinent requirements to me, don’t you think you are not making it a hard time for me?” At this Alice raised her head and looked at Kennedy.

It seemed that she was asking didn’t he realize that?

Kennedy raised his eyebrows.

Alice continued, “On the press conference, I can walk by myself, why did you have to pick me up? If I expose in front of the media, it may affect my private life, don’t you know you are making it a hard time for me?”

Hearing that, Kennedy pursed lips and then asked, “You were hiding in my bosom? You did not get shot by the media.”

Alice, “...”

“I wanted to cancel the contract, but you didn't agree. You've been making it difficult for me ever since you showed up. I asked you out today just to get things straight with you, so please let me go. I've forgotten what happened five years ago. I don't care if you're single or married now. It's none of my business. If you are willing to cooperate with me, I will try my best to design works for you. But if you have other thoughts in mind, I advise you to put them away.”

No matter he still loved her and tried to humiliate her, she did not want them.

Although Yanis was right about her heart, but for Alice, she was more inclined to protect herself.

She did not know if she would be mercilessly pushed away again as five years ago if she was back to him.

Once in her life was enough.

Kennedy stared at her coldly, “You can't wait to push me away and get rid of me? Why?”

Hearing that, Alice almost laughed out in front of Kennedy.

“Kennedy!” Staring at him, she said word by word, “Who threw the contract in my face and told me to walk away from him? And who said I was not allowed to enter his company and his villa? Do you really think everyone else is stupid? After being abandoned and pushed away by you mercilessly, will I get back to you? I'm sorry, but I'm going to disappoint you.”

These words were like accusations.

Although the words sounded irritable, her expression and eyes, including her mood, were more calm than he imagined.

She wasn't as stifling as he thought.

This woman really changed.

Perhaps because of the way he acted? At this thought, Kennedy pursed thin lips, after a moment, he said in a low voice, “I can explain, will you listen to?”

“No.” Alice shook her head, and then smiled lightly, “After the crime of the murderer, I don't want to hear what he experienced, why he killed. It is the same as your explanation. You were wrong. I don't care why you said that to me. All I know is that you pushed me away. That matters.”

Hearing that, Kennedy laughed with self-deprecation, “So you won't believe me no matter what I say.”

Hearing that, Alice nodded, “Yes, what I want to say today has been said, now it depends on your decision. It's windy here, I'm cold, I can't stay, so I'm going back.”

She stood up and was to leave carrying the bag.

Kennedy looked at her back deeply.

“Unfortunately, no matter what you say, you are still my wife.”

Hearing that, Alice paused. She turned to Kennedy, “What do you mean?”

“Don't you know? Legally, we are still married.”
