Second Marriage novel Chapter 156

Manfred looked at Charlotte, with a gentle and encouraging smile. He could not help but in his heart praised for her silently.

The girl seemed less helpless than he had imagined.

He said in due time, "Arthur, you said she was incompetent, but you even did not give her a chance to explain. What if I were as reckless as you and questioned your ability?"

Arthur’s body began to shiver. What should he do, since Mr. Manfred had said so?

He looked at Kennedy.

Kennedy coldly looked at Charlotte. She was still there printing materials calmly, step by step.

Kennedy unconsciously looked at Manfred. When he found Manfred looked at that woman with a smile, he got angry and sneered, “Play trick on the first day of demotion. You have a change to explain but quibbled. Do printing materials need no time? Five minutes have been lost through your fault."

"Kennedy, this is an accident, you..."

Kennedy interrupted him before he could finish his words.

"Cut the bonuses for the first quarter."

Kennedy's eyes were cold and merciless and fell on Charlotte and Arthur.

"The Moore Group doesn’t need people play tricks in front of me. If it happens again, kick her out of the Moore Group."

In the face of Kennedy’s cold and stern eyes, Arthur's waist could not straight up, plus his powerful words, it made him have cold sweat.

He had always held this attitude since she married him. She was almost used to it now, so compared with Arthur's pale face, she seemed much calmer.

As they spoke, she had printed out the materials, then put it in a folder and handed it out one by one.

"What I am giving to you is the project materials I have sorted out, please have a look."

Although Charlotte could not understand why the most ordinary employee position could have access to such important materials, but she had no right to ask!

Perhaps, this was a trap set by Kennedy deliberately to embarrass her!

The meeting went smoothly except for a few minutes at the beginning when it was interrupted. Charlotte seemed to be used to doing what she had done before. She made coffee for everyone after she finished the materials.

When the meeting was over and everyone dispersed, Charlotte was in no hurry to leave.

Arthur lowered his voice and said, "Come out with me!"

Charlotte said nothing but looked at the man in the wheelchair.

Although she was demoted, she still wanted to explain to him that what she said that day was really unintentional!

"New comer, did you hear me?" Arthur's threatening voice sounded behind her ears. Charlotte realized that he was very close to her and moved a few steps to the side in disgust. "Supervisor, you leave first, I still have something to do."

Arthur said, “What do you want? Stay and tell on me?"

"I won't do such a bad thing," said Charlotte. "I'll just stay here for my personal reasons."

Personal reasons? Arthur gnashed his teeth, “No private affair is not allowed in work time. You are the person of my department now, you have to obey me."

With that, he tugged at Charlotte's hand. As soon as he grasped her arm, he found that her arm's skin was as delicate as a baby's. He froze for a moment, and then he involuntarily glanced at her.

“Let me go!” Charlotte forcefully shook off his hand. Arthur was surprised by her fair skin and then he coughed, “Ok, I will wait for you outside. Be quick."

Then Arthur left.

Charlotte walked toward Kennedy after everyone left.

"Well......What happened yesterday..." Charlotte whispered.

Kennedy's mobile phone rang at this time. With an indifferent face, he picked it up, "What is it?"

Charlotte had to stop talking.

Then he nodded and said to Nathan after he hung up the phone, “Let’s go."

Nathan looked at Charlotte awkwardly, made a wink toward her, and then pushed Kennedy to leave.

All the while, he never looked at her.

Charlotte, who talked to him, was like a clown.

She was totally ignored.

She stood in situ, silently clenched her hand, and then loosened, and then clenched, and then loosen....and then clenched.

“Charlotte.”

A gentle voice sounded behind him. Charlotte looked back and saw Manfred.

He hadn't gone yet?

She had been paying attention to Kennedy, so she did not find the existence of Manfred.

Manfred saw surprise in her eyes. Probably he had known what she thought, could not help but showed a wry smile, “In your eyes, I have no sense of existence?”

"Sorry, Manfred, I have something to do, I gotta go!" With that, Charlotte packed up things and then left the office.

As she left, she could feel the eyes of Manfred following her all the time. She was so complicated in heart that she could only put aside her messy thoughts and not think about it.

After returning to the department, she saw Mandy and Ivy's plaintive eyes as soon as she entered the door.

There was no apparent gloating as she had left, and they seemed disappointed that their purpose had not been met.

Charlotte calmly walked back to her seat. When he was ready to sit down only to find that her seat was splashed with water, and she almost did not find it out.

"That's the woman who climbed into the president's bed. She is scheming. She went the bath room and pretended to give us an opportunity, but she backed everything up on a U disk."

"Yeah! If people don’t know about the true, they would think she is pure!"

"You did on purpose! right?"

Charlotte took out the tissue, calmly suck away the water, sat down and then said slowly, “I have inserted the U disk in the computer. You were blind and did not find it. You failed it, so you now blame me?"

"You!" Hearing that, Ivy changed her face greatly and wanted to beat her.

Mandy quickly stretched out her hand to stop her, “Ivy, don't be impulse. Jessica beat her last time and had a bad end. We better not get involved!

Ivy withheld her tempers and said coldly, “We will see, as long as you stay in this department, I won't let you lead a good day!"

Charlotte hooked up her lip, “Ok, wait and see."

"Humph."

They shook their heads and left.

At lunch, Yanis came directly to the department to see her. Charlotte was surprised, "Didn't you ask me to stay away from you? Why..."

Yanis blinked her eyes, "I casually said it and you really believe it? Aren't we friends? How could I really let you stay away from me? Come on, go to dinner."

Yanis directly came forward to hold her arm, pulling her to the canteen, without caring others’ eyes.

Charlotte was stunned. At this moment, her heart was warm.
