Second Marriage novel Chapter 238

Charlotte looked at herself thoughtfully in the mirror.

It should be that she saw the pair of earrings yesterday, and then she thought a lot, so there was the dream.

She quickly dried the water off her face and went out of the bathroom.

Kennedy’s bed had been empty. He had left. Charlotte looked at the time, only to find that she had passed the work time. Was she late?

Thinking of this, Charlotte quickly went to change clothes and went directly toward the company.

When she arrived at the company, she met Kennedy and Nathan going to the conference room. Charlotte walked out of the elevator, and they were to go into the elevator.

Seeing Charlotte, Kennedy frowned and stare at her way in displeasure, “Why don’t you rest at home? Why are you here?”

“What?” Charlotte answered in confuse.

“You're hurt.” Kennedy stared at her clothes and fell his eyes on her neck, where there were many wounds. He asked, “Did you apply medicine today?”

Hearing that, Charlotte realized that and stretched out her hand to touch her neck, “Not yet.”

“Go back to apply it and have a rest.”

The elevator’s door was closing. Charlotte had to walk out, and Nathan pushed Kennedy in.

Kennedy pulled Charlotte in, “Nathan, send her back.”

Nathan was stunned, “But the meeting...”

“I'll be fine.” Charlotte interrupted his words, “My injuries are only skin trauma, and Aunt gave me very good medicine. The injuries almost recovered. I can work.”

Kennedy sneered and mockingly looking at her, “The medicine is not a panacea. You hurt yesterday, and you told me you almost recovered. Are you stupid or am I stupid?”

Charlotte, “...But......It really doesn't hurt that much anymore.”

She timidly looked at him, with injustice and appeal. She looked wronged and pitiful.

It was unbearable.

Kennedy frowned tightly. What was wrong with this woman? How could she be pitiful in front of him?

“Damn it, Nathan, hurry to send her away.”

Nathan, “......”

“Mrs. Moore, I will send you back.”

When Charlotte saw that he was no longer looking at her, she couldn't help saying, “Well, I'm not at work today. I'll go back by myself later. But now I'd like to see how Yanis is doing.”

Hearing that, Kennedy finally raised his head to see her, “Yanis?”

“Well, she helped me yesterday, and I want to see her, all right?” Charlotte asked carefully.

Kennedy frowned tightly, staring at her. A moment later, she said in a deep voice.

“Ok, come back to me in half an hour.”

“But aren’t you going to have a meeting?”

Kennedy’s eyes were unfathomable, “Half an hour is enough.”

“I go to see Yanis first, and then I will come to you.”

The elevator door closed. When they arrived at the meeting room, Charlotte watched Kennedy go out from the elevator. Before leaving, he glanced at her coldly, seeming to be reminding her to come back to him in half an hour.

Yanis sat in front of the computer, feeling bored. When she heard the sound, she lifted her head and saw Charlotte.

“Charlotte?”

She immediately got up and walked to her. When she lifted her hand to touch her, her face changed with pain.

Charlotte was worried and walked forward, “Are you ok?”

Yanis pressed her lips in an embarrassing way, “I am ok.”

“Sorry, where are you hurt?”

Yanis said, “I accidentally twisted my arm. The doctor said nothing serious, just a few days of pain, I'm fine.”

“Is it really all right?” Charlotte looked at her worriedly, “I'm sorry, it was I who brought you trouble. And yesterday afternoon...”

“Didn’t you leave with Mr. Kennedy yesterday afternoon? I know. You don't have to apologize to me. Nathan told me that you were badly hurt.”

Right, Charlotte almost forget, Nathan was in the emergency room at the door.

Yanis could see him and must ask him when she was back.

“I'm all right.” Yanis shrugged shoulders and said bitterly, “But I feel sorry for Mr. Manfred. He came and found you were not there. He seemed to have lost his soul.”

Charlotte, “...Don't mention it.”

“You are unreasonable. Because you don't like him, so even if he is sad, you are indifferent. I felt distressed for him, but you have no feeling at all.”

Charlotte lowered her head and looked at the ground thoughtfully.

“Being unmoved is the best way to respond. I am his sister in law, not his girlfriend, if there is any response to his feelings, I will hurt him.”

“That's right. By the way, let's find a quiet place to talk. Come with me.”

Yanis pulled Charlotte to her office and closed the door gently. Then she said, “I heard yesterday that that woman was fine, so was her child. Is it true?”

Charlotte nodded, “Yes.”

“Is it none of our business?” Yanis was more concerned about this. Yesterday she lost her temper and wished that woman to die. After all, she hurt them badly.

Now she calmed down and realized the seriousness of the matter.

That woman and her child were fine. She thought...With all that blood, the baby is sure to die.

Who knew...

“Well, it's nothing to do with us. But they won’t let us go.” Looking at Aldrich yesterday, she thought he might do something.

“What? They still want to mess around, but they are fine!”

Charlotte smiled faintly, “I am not sure, but you rest assured that I will not let it get you involved.”

“What are you talking about? I'm not only worried about myself, but also you. After all, I'm involved in this matter, and if you're the only one to bear it, I won't agree!”

“Well, don't worry about it. I just come to see how you are. I'll have to go back later.”

Yanis gossiped, “Back to Mr. Kennedy? Were you quite happy when he took you away yesterday?”

Mentioning yesterday's matter, Charlotte blushed, “Stop it, I am leaving.”

“Don't leave so soon. Let me tell you something. Didn't we go shopping the other day? I went to ask later about the pair of earring you liked. I wanted to buy them for you on the sly, but do you know what the clerk said? She said it was bought by a man. Guess who?”
