Second Marriage novel Chapter 248

Charlotte nodded. "What's the problem?"

When asked this question, Charlotte kept staring at Kennedy, trying to find out different mood from him.

And the first time, Kennedy did not look straight at her eyes, but looked at other places. He said in a cold voice, “No."

"Oh, I need to continue to ask for leave today. I gotta go."

With that, Charlotte directly picked up her bag to go outside the door.

"Stop." Kennedy suddenly called her.

Charlotte froze. Kennedy did not notice Charlotte had no smile with her back to him, which was different from her just now.

"Are you sure you're just looking for her? No one else?"

Hearing that, Charlotte turned round and smiled at Kennedy.

"Do you think I'd go out with other guys behind your back?"

Frowning, Kennedy stared at her like eagle.

"Don't worry, I have no interest in that. Besides, if I am to looking for a man, I wouldn't brag about it to your face."

With these words, Charlotte left the room directly.

Looking at her back, Kennedy felt as if there was something to lose.

This kind of feeling made him unprepared.

Downstairs, Charlotte met Manfred who was about to go out.

When they met, Manfred’s eyes became bright. But soon he had doubts why she suddenly dressed up like this.

Before he knew it, his steps were towards her.

"Charlotte, are you going out?"

He asked.

Charlotte nodded, “Yes, Good morning, Manfred."

Manfred’s eyes darkened. A moment later he smiled, “Good morning. You are beautiful today. Are you going to see someone important?"

"No, just going shopping with my friends."

"Do you want me to give you a ride?” Manfred waved his key, "I am going out too."

Charlotte was going to refuse, but when she looked up, she saw a familiar figure out of the corner of her eyes. Charlotte paused and then nodded, “OK."

Manfred noticed her reaction and curled his lips, “Let’s go."

"Ok." Charlotte went forward. Manfred raised his head, and fell his eyes on the man upstairs and met his eyes as sharp as eagle.

He showed a proud smile at this time as if he was to win. Then he turned to follow Charlotte's steps and walked besides her, "Have you had breakfast yet? Do you want to stop by for breakfast later?"

Charlotte blinked her eyes and then nodded, “Ok."

Manfred did not know what happened between her and Kennedy and why she suddenly changed, but it did not mean much to him. As long as she was willing to give him a chance, he would show her his heart.

This was enough.

After getting in the car, Charlotte took out her mobile phone to text Diana and asked her to meet her at the milk tea shop near the school.

Seeing that, Diana replied a question mark.

She sent another message, “Why meet at the milk tea shop?"

Charlotte replied with a calm face, “I want to drink milk tea there. Are you willing to accompany me?"

She was silent for a long time, and then agreed. Charlotte told her the hour, and then put the phone aside.

"Do you have an appointment with a friend?” Seeing her put down the mobile phone, Manfred inadvertently asked.

Charlotte leaned on her seat and nodded as she looked out of the window at the trees and buildings moving backwards.

Although the sun was in the sky, the city was crowded, and her clothes were thick, Charlotte still felt cold, and lonely.

Manfred took a look at her and found that her mood was not good.

He frowned and asked anxiously, "What's going on?"

Hearing that, Charlotte paused, and then shook her head, “Nothing."

"You're not yourself today."

“Really?” Charlotte smiled faintly and curled her lips, “It's because I dressed up."

She spoke so lightly that she seemed not to take the matter seriously.

He did not get the answer and she did not plan to tell him, so he had to give up, "What would you like for breakfast?"

"You are the boss. It doesn’t matter." Charlotte answered weakly and then closed her eyes again.

Manfred found she seemed to be tired, so he did not talk to her anymore, but sped up.

The car stopped. Charlotte fell asleep and Manfred woke her up by calling her names. When she opened her bleared eyes and looked at Manfred, Manfred was staring at her, “We arrive, get ready to get off."

Charlotte stared at him for a moment before she recovered.

"Ok."

She unfastened her seat belt, and wanted to rub her eyes, but her hand was caught by Manfred. She raised her head and looked at him in confuse.

"Manfred?”

Manfred gave a low smile, stretch out a finger to flip her forehead, “What is in your mind? You put on makeup and if you rub it with your hands, your makeup will wear off."

His voice was too soft like cotton, which involved in Charlotte's heart.

When Charlotte heard him say so, she realized that she was wearing makeup and that rubbing it by hand would wear it off..

Thinking of this, she nodded. "I see."

Then she took her hand back, blinked her eyes, and then followed Manfred get off the car.

When having breakfast, Charlotte was still absent-minded. There were many kinds of food in front of her with all kinds of fragrance, but her face was expressionless.

Manfred took a dumpling and put it in her bowl. "You don't seem to be interested in food."

He talked to her and Charlotte's sanity was pulled back.

"Oh, I do." She smiled awkwardly and ate the dumpling.

As if she was eating something colorless and tasteless. Seeing that, Manfred could not help but frown and put down the chopsticks.

"Charlotte, tell me, what happened?"

Charlotte stared at him blankly.

"What was wrong with you and Kennedy last night? Don't try to hide it from me. You are quite a different person today."

After thinking for a while, Charlotte smiled and said calmly, "Manfred, you are overthinking. I was just thinking about where I was going to go shopping with my friend later. That's why my mind wandered. Nothing happened between Kennedy and me

She paused and then stared at Manfred. "Have you forgotten what you said to me last night? You're not going to force me do anything, so you're not going to make me say anything, are you?"

Manfred was speechless and a moment later, he said, “Are you reprimanding me for meddling your business?"
