Second Marriage novel Chapter 255

“I don't want to pick it up.”

She felt that she had nothing to talk to Kennedy.

The phone kept ringing.

Yanis blinked her eyes and made the decision for her. “He must have something to talk to you, you should give him the chance. If you had him understood, but you ignored him, he would have no chance to explain?”

Thinking of this, Yanis answered the phone and got up in Charlotte’s stunned eyes.

“Mr. Kennedy, I am Yanis.”

Charlotte looked at her with her eyes wide opened. She could not hear what she said to Kennedy, but a little of it. When she came back, she gave back the phone.

Yanis but quickly ran to the outside of the room, Charlotte could not hear her with Mr. Kennedy said what, only to hear some pieces, when she came back, Yanis will return the phone to her.

“Wait for a while, Mr. Kennedy will come to pick you up.”

“You made him come over?” Charlotte wrinkled eyebrows. Suddenly she thought of something, turned around to take her bag, and then walked out of the door.

“What are you doing? Mr. Kennedy said he will pick you up and made me tell the address.”

“I don't want to meet him.”

“I told him you got hurt and he got nervous. Maybe you should give him a chance to explain!” Yanis pressed her shoulder and said seriously staring at her.

Charlotte stared at her in a daze but said nothing.

Finally, she waited for more than ten minutes at Yanis’ home, and someone rang the doorbell. When Yanis went to open the door, Charlotte, who was sitting in the living room, heard Nathan's voice, “Sorry to disturb you.”

Then it was the sound of wheels rolling. Charlotte could feel that Kennedy was coming without looking up.

She did not want to see Kennedy. She sat there with downcast eyes.

Probably because she had cried and her eyes were red, she was particularly afraid to see him.

“Where did you get hurt?” Kennedy came in and saw her sitting there without looking up. He frowned and asked.

Charlotte said nothing, nor did she look up at him.

Yanis and Nathan stood in the porch, leaving the space to them. She took a look at Nathan and shrugged her shoulders.

Nathan appreciated Yanis. She was smart and could be a friend of Charlotte!

“I'm asking you a question.”

Till a cold male voice with anger came from top of head, Charlotte was aware that Kennedy had stood beside her.

With a moment of shock, Charlotte looked up and met his deep eyes.

Charlotte found that, although Kennedy was sitting in a wheelchair, he was a tall man. Now he was looking down at her with dark eyes.

However, when seeing her red eyes, Kennedy's eyes instantly changed. He raised his hand to grab her chin, “Did you cry?”

He did not pay attention to his force and Charlotte was in pain by that. Unexpectedly she made a soft sound. Kennedy frowned tightly and loosen his hand to hoop her waist, and held her in arms.

“What do you want?” Charlotte exclaimed, falling into the bosom of Kennedy.

As the thought that Yanis was still there, she was ashamed and angry. She wanted to push him away, but Kennedy held her tightly. He pushed the wheel with one hand, “Go home with me.”

Standing at the door, Yanis and Nathan saw that quickly walked to one side to make way for the two.

Charlotte was struggling all the time, but her strength was no match for Kennedy. She had to be forced to walk out. Although he was sitting in a wheelchair, he seemed not to be aware of that and hugged her.

Yanis urged Nathan, “Hurry to follow up.”

“Thanks.” Nathan said thanks to her and quickly followed them.

Back home, Charlotte jumped out of the arms of Kennedy and said she could walk by herself. Then she went upstairs to the room. Kennedy felt she was weird today and her red eyes touched his heart.

Thinking of the pair of earrings he chose today, he reached into his pocket and took out the small box. He opened it and looked at the glittering earrings inside.

Nathan thought for a while, and finally went forward with great courage, “Mr. Kennedy, Mrs. Moore seems to be in a bad mood, why don’t you......”

“Shut up.” Kennedy said in a cold voice, “I know what I should do.”

“But Mr. Kennedy... If you have no move, I am afraid that Mrs. Moore will run away, and you will regret it.”

Kennedy, “...”

“Mrs. Moore will know the truth sooner or later. Diana is her good friend. Although Mrs. Moore usually looked silent, she could not tolerate that, and you know her character.”

With that, Kennedy took a sharp glance at him, which made Nathan frightened. He turned to elsewhere, as if he had not said anything.

Kennedy followed Charlotte to the room.

Once he entered the room, the room seemed to have become narrow with his breath everywhere. With her back to him, Charlotte tried to ignore him, but Kennedy was not going to let go of her. He said.

“Where did you get hurt? Let me see.”

His voice sounded extraordinarily gentle, as if he had done something wrong and was trying to coax her.

Charlotte thought of Diana, she was sad and did not answer him, tightly biting her lower lip.

Kennedy went to get the ointment and brought her a nightdress. “Take off your clothes, I will put the medicine on you, and then you can put on this.”

He handed the clothes to her, but Charlotte sat still in silence without reaching out her hand to take it.

If it were in the past, Kennedy would have been angry at being ignored, but in recent days Charlotte was different, especially the way she now sat there with red eyes like a bullied daughter-in-law, who made him feel sorry.

So Kennedy put the clothes on her side and said in a soft voice, “Apply the medicine, ok?”

She still ignored him.

Kennedy thought of Nathan’s words. After a moment of silence, he stretched out his hand from the pocket to take out the small box to her.

“This is for you. Don't be petulant, ok?”

Charlotte had been hanging her head, and suddenly a delicate small box appeared in front of her. The shape of the small box was very familiar to what she had seen before, but it was definitely not the same.

Charlotte finally made a movement and reached out her hand to take the box.
