Second Marriage novel Chapter 260

As night fell, the city was ablaze with lights.

Autumn had been a long time, the night wind was much stronger. There was always a kind of illusion of winter.

Charlotte forgot to take a coat when she came out, and now she was shivering standing at the intersection.

She didn't go to the company all day, but went to the hospital for a maternity check-up.

After all, she had been pregnant for a long time, and her physical condition was not very good. So she went to have a check-up because she was worried.

The result pleased her very much.

The doctor said that the baby was healthy, but her body was weak and more supplements were needed, otherwise the child would suffer malnutrition.

As long as she gave birth to this baby, she would have one more family in the world.

She was thinking, after leaving Kennedy, she would find a new job, and then bring up the child, teach it to read and write, and it would run after her.

At the thought of these pictures, Charlotte's heart softened into a pool of water.

It felt so good.

It was her family.

Charlotte had not felt this way for a long time.

Although she was the daughter of the Wilson family, she had never felt the warmth of it.

As another gust of cold wind blowing, Charlotte was shivering, subconsciously folded her arms.

The remote lights of a car hit, Charlotte became so dazzled that she could not open her eyes. When the lights dimmed down, she found that the car had stopped in front of her.

With the window down, a familiar handsome face appeared in front of her.

“Ms. Wilson, I saw you far away.”

Surprised, Charlotte saw Megan open the car door and get out. Zain, with a pale face, was sitting behind.

She didn't expect to meet them here.

“I saw you many times in the hospital. Are you sick, Ms. Wilson?” Megan asked with concern. Charlotte smiled and shook her head, “No, I just came here for a routine inspection. Why are you here?”

“Passing by, we saw you from a distance, so we came here. I didn't expect to see you. Are you waiting for the bus?”

Charlotte was embarrassed. Her pale cheeks were flushed by the wind. She nodded, “Yes.”

“Get it the car, we can give you a ride.”

Hearing this, Charlotte shook her head awkwardly, “Maybe it's troublesome. It's OK. I'll wait for a while.”

“Get in.” Zain heard her refusal, frowning.

His tone was cold and clear without any emotion but deterrence. Charlotte was stunned for a moment, and then obediently opened the door and got in the car.

After getting in the car, Zain found she wore a little and her pink lips were blown dry. He asked, “How long have you waited?”

“Not long, I just came out.”

“Lying is not a good habit.” Zain withdrew her eyes, sounding displeased. “Although you think it's a white lie,” he said.

Megan sitting in front was surprised to hear that. Through the rearview mirror she took a look at Charlotte. As expected Charlotte was embarrassed and then she looked at Zain, but she said nothing.

Megan raised her lips and said, “Ms. Wilson, sorry, but Mr. Nelson is good.”

Hearing that, Zain frowned, “Mind your own business.”

Megan smiled, turned her head and said nothing.

The atmosphere inside the car seemed to become warm. Charlotte blinked, in fact, she did not mind. She just did not expect Zain would expose her lie.

The car fell into silence, and the temperature in the car was very high. Charlotte, who had been freezing outside, felt much warmer after she sat down, although her hands were still cold.

Zain had noticed it. He raised his hand to unbutton his suit, and then took it off to her.

“Put it on.”

Hearing this, Charlotte stared at him in surprise and said, “No, don't...”

“Why?” Zain raised his eyebrow and his voice was still indifferent, “Do you still want to go the hospital? You'll have to be there of you get a cold. Put it on.”

His tone was too strong to refuse, but Charlotte didn't want to take his suit because she always felt Zain was too kind to her.

Why was that?

She did not take the suit, Megan said, “Ms. Wilson, you might as well put it on. It's a long way to go. You've been blowing in the cold wind for half an hour. You can take it off when you get off the car.”

In any case, Charlotte would not take over the suit.

Zain frowned, then suddenly reached out his hand and put the suit on Charlotte's body. He moved so fast that Charlotte had no time to refuse. The suit with his temperature was on her body and completely covered her thin shoulders.

“......” Charlotte raised her head, wanted to say something and saw Zain’s resolute eyes.

Charlotte froze in place.

His eyes were determined. “Put it on. Don't take it off.”

Then he withdrew his hands and sat back to his seat.

Charlotte was silent, looked down at the suit, and then looked at Zain's steady side face.

She suddenly had a strong feeling.

How should she describe that feeling?

As if... he was a family...

Although this feeling was ridiculous to Charlotte, Zain gave her the feeling like an intimate brother.

Thinking of this, Charlotte looked down at her skirt.

Perhaps she had been too much flustered by recent events, she thought, and that was why she felt that way.

In addition, Zain was sedate person who gave her a sense of security, so she temporarily produced this feeling.

Thinking of this, Charlotte felt better, curled up her lips and said thank you to Zain.

Hearing that, Zain was stunned and then took a look at her through the corner of her eyes.

It happened that Charlotte was sitting there in his suit, with her head drooping, covering her cheek. Her long lashes cast a scalloped shadow around her eyes.

Zain’s heart was moved.

The way she was...

Too much alike.

How could there be two people so alike?

If she had nothing to do with the Nelson family, how could her temperament be so similar to that person?

She was demure and cold in her eyes, which was exactly the same with her.

“You...” Zain's thin lips moved and he could not help looking at her, “How many relatives do you have?”

Megan was surprised to hear that. Did Mr. Nelson want to do something?

In fact, she did not understand what Zain wanted to do to Charlotte, if he wanted Charlotte to be his girlfriend, he had no feeling in his eyes to Charlotte, but a man would not be good to a woman for no reason. If he did not want her to be his girlfriend, why was he so good to her?

Megan could not understand it.
