Second Marriage novel Chapter 281

“Mr. Nelson.”

Megan called him. Zain came to his senses and fixed his eyes on Charlotte.

Seeing that she had changed the clean clothes, he felt relieved and redrew his eyes.

A moment later he thought of something and frowned at Megan.

Megan had to explain, “Ms. Wilson was worried about Diana, so she followed me.”

Hearing Megan's explanation to Zain, Charlotte thought she knew something. She stepped forward to speak for Megan, “I came here on my own. How can I rest now since Diana is in such a state? So I am here with you.”

After that, Zain did not say anything.

After waiting in the emergency room for a long time, Charlotte was helped to sit down by Megan. When she sat down, Charlotte realized that her legs were shaking badly, but she had not noticed it when she stood up.

Megan pressed her hand on her leg.

“Are you All right?”

Hearing that, Charlotte raised her head and met Megan’s concerned eyes, “I'm okay.”

After a while, the door of the emergency room finally opened. Charlotte, who had been sitting, quickly stood up and rushed forward with a stagger.

A man held her in time. Charlotte raised her head and saw Zain’s calm eyes.

“Be careful.” He said quietly.

Charlotte nodded.

“Are you the family of the girl who just cut her wrist?” The doctor came out, Zain went forward and said yes, followed by Charlotte.

“Yes.” Zain answered.

The doctor glanced at him, then at Charlotte, and then he said, “The patient is out of danger. Fortunately, the wound is not deep. If the wound had been deeper, she could not survive.”

Although a moment of fear, Charlotte knew that Diana was OK.

Finally she felt relieved and fell down to ground.

“Ms. Wilson!” Megan was standing right behind her. Seeing her fell backwards, she unconsciously reached out her hand to catch her.

Zain turned around and found that Charlotte had fainted.

The doctor was shocked and went to examine Charlotte. “She should be too frightened,” he said. “Please help her go to the next ward and have a rest. She looked bad.”

Megan nodded and wanted to help Charlotte to the side, but Zain, after talking to the doctor, picked Charlotte up and said to Megan, “You go through the hospitalization procedures.”

Megan stared at the scene in a daze. After a moment, she said, “OK, Mr. Nelson.”

When Zain left with Charlotte, Megan stood in situ to look at this scene.

It was strange that Zain's way of treating Charlotte had already crossed the boundary of ordinary friends, but the way he held Charlotte was not ambiguous at all, but like a brother caring for his sister.

Was it because Charlotte and Diana were good friends, so Zain treated her as a sister too?

Forget it. Why would she think that now? Zain understood well what he should do and should not do. As his secretary, she had nothing to worry about.

Thinking of this, Megan hurried to deal with the hospitalization procedures.

Sebastian left alone standing in place. He did not know what he could do. Then he felt he came out with Charlotte, so it would be better to follow her.

So Sebastian caught up with Zain. When Zain held Charlotte into a ward, and bent down to put her carefully on the bed, Sebastian felt strange but felt that there was no ambiguity between the two people.

He felt it would be better not to tell Mr. Kennedy, lest it affected their relationship.

Thinking of this, Sebastian made up his mind and stood at the door, waiting.

Zain looked up at Sebastian, Sebastian stood to the door and kept silent.

Megan finished the formalities and rushed over, “Mr. Nelson, do you want a few servants from home to take care of Miss Diana?”

“Yes.” Zain nodded, “Find two more.”

Megan paused for a moment and then nodded.

Charlotte woke up in about ten minutes, but her face was still pale. When she woke up, she saw Zain was sitting in the chair not far away. The ward was quiet.

It was quiet for a few seconds. Charlotte suddenly remembered what had happened before, she suddenly lifted the quilt and sat up.

Zain looked toward her, “You are up.”

“Sorry...” Charlotte was embarrassed.

Zain frowned when he heard the words, and he said. “Why do you apology?”

Charlotte could only bite her lower lip to explain to him, “I'm really sorry for causing you trouble at this time.”

With that, Charlotte got out of bed and bowed to apologize.

Her attitude made Zain depressed. He did not want to see her subservient to others, especially to himself.

“No need to apologize.” Zain's voice was clear, “She cut her wrist by herself and it has nothing to do with others.”

Hearing that, Charlotte raised her head to stare at him, “How is Diana?”

“Still under observation in the intensive care unit. 24 hours later she can be transferred to the common ward.”

Hearing that, Charlotte turned pale on face, so she was till in danger?

“The doctor said she is out of danger. Staying in the intensive care unit under observation is in case of accidents. You don't have to worry.”

Charlotte, “......”

She was still very worried, clenching her fist.

She always felt Diana had a reason to call her over.

Perhaps it was the last time she had been angry with her and had said something excessive, it had made her want to commit suicide?

Or maybe it was something else...

In a word, the reason could not be separated from her and Kennedy.

Otherwise, Diana who had always been optimistic and cheerful would not commit suicide.

Apart from that, Charlotte really couldn't find any other reason.

“It was my fault, I should apologize!” Charlotte bit her lower lip and said, “She cut her wrist because of me. But Mr. Nelson, please rest assured. I will talk to her about it when she wakes up.”

Zain had no interest in the contradiction between girls but small contradiction would not make Diana cut wrist. So what was it?

Zain's eyes fell on Charlotte, and he seemed to be inquiring her.

Charlotte of course understood the meaning of his eyes, but... it was complicated.

“Sorry, I can't tell you for the time being.”
