Second Marriage novel Chapter 296

Charlotte felt difficult to calm down because of those words. She looked at Yanis for a long time and then lowered her eyes.

“You are right, but I have to leave. If you want to stay, stay and wait for him.”

With that, she turned to leave.

Seeing her back, Yanis shouted angrily, “Charlotte, aren’t we good friends? Why are you angry?”

Charlotte froze and then closed her eyes tiredly.

Good friends? She wanted to be her good friend, be she did not want to have anything to do with Manfred.

At this thought, Charlotte did not answer her, but stepped forward. Yanis thought she would look back, but she did not. Yanis was angry and she chased after her.

Then a familiar figure showed up and stopped in the front of Charlotte.

Charlotte did not expect to meet Manfred. She was stunned and then she passed by as if she had not seen him.

Manfred was surprised to see that her eyes were red. But she pretended not to see him, Manfred felt hurt of that.

Then he turned and ran after her.

“Charlotte!”

Manfred moved fast and caught her arm. Charlotte’s face changed and she took back her hand.

“Let me go!”

She shook him off violently. Manfred frowned, “You don’t want to see me, even if I am here to help? Charlotte, how much do you hate me? You don’t even want to see me and don’t want to accept my help?”

Charlotte bit her low lip and looked at him, “Manfred, you had helped me for many times, so I own you and I don’t want to own you anymore.”

Hearing that, Manfred gave a bitter smile, “So you know you own me. Since you have own me that much, what does it matter I help you this time?”

Charlotte, “…”

Yanis looked at them standing far away. Although she could not hear what they said, she calmed down. Hearing that Charlotte refused to see Manfred, Yanis was anxious, because it was to give up.

“I owe you and I will pay it back to you.” Charlotte remembered that three hundred thousand. Her mother made her angry and disappointed, but she was her mother, and she had to bear that debt.

“Since you owe me and have to pay me back, what does it matter I help you more?”

With that, Manfred walked inside, “Let’s go.”

Charlotte did not move. Seeing that, Manfred came to catch her should and pulled her in.

“Manfred, let go, let me go.”

Hearing his name, Manfred was pleased.

She disappeared from the Moore family and he could not see her in the family and not even in the company. He could not directly come to her. Finally he could see her today, so he drove fast here and saw her standing right in the front of him.

But thinking that she had been with Kennedy, he felt painful in heart. Manfred pressed his lips and pulled her back to the original position. Yanis stood there in daze. Charlotte was gloomy on face.

She wanted to leave, but, at that thought that she owned him a lot, she could not leave.

So she sat down and said indifferently.

“I have nothing that needs your help.” Though she could not leave, she did not need Manfred to help her.

Yanis’ face changed. She looked at Manfred, “Mr. Manfred, I am glad you are here. We need your help.”

“What is it?”

They said, ignoreing Charlotte.

Charlotte was angry, gritting teeth.

Yanis was to speak, but Charlotte interrupted her, “I said it has nothing to so with you. I don’t need your help.”

Manfred looked at her expressionlessly and said bitterly, “What if others offer you help? Would you accept that?”

Thought it made Manfred hurt, Charlotte nodded.

“Yes, I said I owe you a lot, can I can’t pay you back if you help me more. So please leave it alone.”

Yanis said gritting teeth, “No, if Mr. Manfred leaves it alone, we can’t do it.”

Charlotte, “… Yanis, do you have to go against me?”

Yanis stared at her frimly, “Sorry, even if you are angry, I insist.”

Charlotte looked at her and could not say a word. She sneered, “Fine, since you want to do that, stay and tell him. I gotta go.”

With that, Charlotte turned to leave.

Manfred did not stop her again. Yanis was anxious and was to run after her, but was stopped by Manfred.

“Don’t, since she wanted to leave, it will be no of use to run after her.”

Hearing that, Yanis was anxious, “But…”

“You know what happened, right? I can fix it without her.”

Yanis froze and bit her lips, “Can you help?”

Manfred looked at her calmly, “Sure, tell me what happened.”

Yanis knew that she could not tell him all, so she made up an excuse.

“You mean Miss Nelson fell in love with you friend and she was pregnant, but the man abandoned her, so she wanted to commit suicide?”

Yanis nodded. She was awkward. She was not good at making up story and did not know if it would work, but it was the best she could come up with.

“Are you telling the truth?”

Manfred asked.

Yanis bit her lower lips, “Yes, why should I lie? I just want to know if she is really pregnant, but we can do nothing to the hospital… I want to ask you for help, my friend is worried about her.”

A moment later, Manfred nodded and said coldly, “Ok, I will help.”
