Second Marriage novel Chapter 297

“Really?” Yanis was glad, “Thank you, Mr. Manfred.”

“But…” Manfred stared at Yanis, “If it is this simple, why Charlotte refused my help?”

Yanis was embarrassed, but she could not reveal it. She said, “She thought you have helped her a lot and she had told me about that three hundred thousand. Mr. Manfred, she will remember your help and remind herself she owns you, so she doesn’t want you to help you. I can understand her.

It made sense. Since he gave there hundred thousand to her mother, she seemed not to like to see him. Probably that was the reason.

“I have never thought that she would return that money to me.”

“That is the reason she feels sad.” Yanis stared at Manfred and took a sigh, “I don’t know Charlotte for long, but I know she was simple, stubborn and strong. You should know that. You helped her and she felt guilty about that.”

Manfred looked at Yanis gently, he did not expect that she knew well about Charlotte.

“She is not guilty. She is afraid that she would owe me too much so that she could not pay me back.”

“Yes, I know that. I don’t want to bother you, but I have no one to help me.”

Hearing that, Manfred smiled, “It is my pleasure.”

“That is it. I have to explain to Charlotte.”

“Ok.” Manfred nodded, “I will give you the news soon.”

“Thank you, Mr. Manfred.”

After Yanis left, Manfred tapped the desk with his slender fingers. He was thinking, looking at the two bowls of noodles.

It did not seem right.

He had to check on it and maybe he could get something.

Charlotte took a taxi to H Villa. Soon after she arrived, Rebecca told her that Yanis came to her, “Mrs. Moore, didn’t you go out with Yanis? Why…”

To stop Rebecca from overthinking, Charlotte said, “Perhaps she forgot something, bring her here.”

Rebecca took Yanis to her and then left. It was quiet in the hose. Charlotte had clamed down in her way home. Yanis held her arm, “Charlotte, are you still angry with me? It has been fixed, don’t be angry, ok?”

“It has been fixed?” Charlotte gave a bitter smile, “So, you told him?”

Yanis turned pale on face and explained, “Don’t misunderstand. I made up a story. He doesn’t know it.”

“Are you stupid? No matter how you make up the story, it would not change the result.”

“But…”

“Do you think he is a fool? He will not believe you, he is clever and he could guess what happened.”

Hearing that, Yanis widened her eyes, “I don’t think so. He would not think of that. He is Kennedy’s brother, he would not have that thought.”

“He can check it out.” Charlotte took a look at Yanis and sighed, “What kind of person do you think Manfred is? He is not as simple as you think.”

He had disguised himself too well. Outsiders did not know what kind of person he was, and Charlotte knew that they were infighting from Reynold’s words. From what Manfred said to her before, she knew that Manfred was not as gentle as he was on the face. He was not simple. He must have sensed something from Yanis’ words and he would definitely check on it.

“Am I wrong about him?” Yanis lowered her head and murmured, “Perhaps I don’t know what kind of person he is. But I am right about his eyes. I know he will not hurt you.”

Charlotte gave a faint smile, “Never mind, I have nothing to say.”

“Are you angry? Charlotte, I did it for you.”

Looking at Yanis, Charlotte was helpless. Yanis did do it for her own good. Although she tried hard to stop her, but it came out with the same result.

“It happened and there is nothing to be angry at.” Charlotte said in a soft voice.

She was not angry, but it frightened Yanis. Yanis took her hand, “Charlotte…”

“It is getting late, go back.”

Yanis, “…”

“I will come to you tomorrow.” Yanis was pleased to hear that, smiling, “Will you come to me? Are you not angry at me?”

Charlotte said, “I was emotional. I knew you did it for me. I will ask Sebastian to send you back.”

Charlotte asked Rebecca to take Yanis to Sebastian. Before leaving, Yanis hugged Charlotte and asked her to come to her as promised.

After Yanis left, Charlotte looked at the night scene. It would not be calm any longer.

Even if Yanis did not come to Manfred, he would come to her.

But she did not expect it was so fast.

Manfred gave news to Yanis the next day. He asked them to meet at night.

When Yanis made a call to Charlotte, Charlotte agreed.

“Let’s meet at night then, you don’t need to come to me in daytime.”

“Ok.” Charlotte nodded.

In the evening, when Charlotte dressed up and was to leave, Kennedy came home earlier.

Seeing that, Kennedy asked, “Are you going out?”

Charlotte was stunned and then nodded, “I am going to a party.”

Nathan came up with a box.

“What is this?” Charlotte looked at the box with doubts.
