Second Marriage novel Chapter 300

Yanis was excited, but Charlotte was worried.

She did not want to go the party with Manfred. Originally Kennedy had misunderstood her relationship with Manfred. If she went there with Manfred, Kennedy would misunderstand her again.

Thinking of this, Charlotte was even more depressed.

Manfred said, “I know what you are worried about. We will get the information and to there. I will send you there, on the car, you read the information sorted out by my secretary. And I will find a safe place to drop you before you arrive. There will be no misunderstanding.”

Charlotte, “......”

Shocked, she looked up at Manfred and felt guilty.

She was afraid that Kennedy would misunderstand her, so she wanted to refuse to go with Manfred.

But Manfred had arranged everything for her and had said out her thought.

For an instant, Charlotte blushed and felt ashamed.

There were many moments when she felt particularly guilty in the face of Manfred.

“So, are you reassured?” Asked Manfred.

Charlotte was speechless. She bit her lower lip and lowered her eyes. She did not answer.

Yanis probably had felt her mood and spoke for Charlotte, “Thank for, Mr. Manfred. You are nice and considerable for your family.”

Manfred glanced at her and then took back his eyes indifferently.

The word “family” made him unhappy.

He didn't want to be Charlotte's family. If she were a family member, he wished her to be his wife.

He pressed his thin lips together and glanced at his wristwatch again. “It should be very soon. There's still time. Don’t worry.”

“Uh-huh.”

About half an hour later, Manfred’s secretary finally arrived. She went to Manfred and smiled at Charlotte. Charlotte saw her before. She had come to advise her to get back to her position.

Now Charlotte felt embarrassed to meet her.

“Sorry that I have kept you waiting. There is a lot of information, so it took me a long time to sort it out.”

“Thank you.” Charlotte stood up and greeted her with a smile.

The secretary looked at her and then mischievously winked eyes, “Since I have sent you the information, I will not bother you. Mr. Manfred, I gotta go. My mother is still waiting for me to have dinner.”

“Ok, be careful on the way.”

After the secretary left, Charlotte said, “Thank you and your secretary.”

“No thanks. Is that your dress in that box on the table? You'll have to dress up for the party, so get the documents and let’s go.”

Manfred took the car keys and stood up. Charlotte had to stand up with that document and that box.

Manfred asked them to wait at the door after he had the bill checked and he would take the car. Charlotte and Yan waited at the door.

“It's only about seven o’clock now, and you still have a lot of time before you arrive at the destination. After you get in the car, remember to read the document first and check the result. But after you know the result, do not act rashly. Do after you think carefully, ok?”

“You don’t go with me?” Charlotte looked at Yanis and asked.

Yanis shrugged and smiled, “I can’ go with you. It is a party and no one invited me. If I go, I will be a joke.”

Hearing that, Charlotte wrinkled her eyebrows. She seemed to get used to Yanis’ company these last two days.

“Don't worry, just remember my words. Don’t be impulsive and think before you act, OK?”

Charlotte could only nod, and then she came forward to hug Yanis, “Thank you.”

“Actually... I felt sorry to misunderstand you. After getting along with you, I found you are stupid. You are more stupid than I. and you are innocent, but we are friends. No need to say thank you to friends.”

“Yes.”

Charlotte felt tight in throat.

Friends...

She suddenly thought of Diana.

Perhaps their friendship was real before they fell in love with the same man.

When they fell in love with the same man, they had competition, so they could not be friends anymore.

“Will we be enemies?”

Hearing that, Yanis was stunned, “No, I will never become a person like Diana. I am not capable, but I am a person of principle, I absolutely will not fall in love with the same man as you. As long as I know that man is related to you, I will tell myself away from him and I absolutely won't be tempted.”

What about Diana? Did she ever tell herself that? Did she lose control at the beginning?

“Well, don't think much. I will leave after you get into the car. Send a message if there is something wrong.”

With that, Yanis gently pulled her to the side and waited for the car.

Soon, Manfred stopped the car in front of the two people. He got off and opened the door for them. After Charlotte got in the car, Manfred motioned Yanis to go in.

Yanis waved her hand, “No, I won’t get in. Are you not going to the party? Go ahead.”

“I can give you a ride.” Manfred said with a smile.

Yanis awkwardly smiled, “No need, Mr. Manfred! My house is nearby, I'll be there by taxi! You can go.”

Then she reached out her hand and pushed him to the front of the car. Then she turned and ran away.

Looking at her trotting back, Manfred felt helpless. He then got into the car and looked at Charlotte sitting on the back seat, “She does not want to get in the car.”

Charlotte nodded, “It doesn't matter, let her go.”

Then she dropped her eyes and looked calmly at her toes.

In fact, Charlotte could feel that Yanis had been deliberately avoiding Manfred. Kennedy probably was afraid of that day.
