Secretly The Billionaire Boss by Debbie chocolate novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75: Inferior Grey had to wait in front of the door for the girls to finish up. It took a while as they were laughing and chatting. Grey groaned severally but he knew that Avery wouldn’t want to be late as well. She was currently the CEO of LN material company and she wouldn’t want to disappoint her grandfather. Truly, the door opened a few minutes later and Avery stepped out, still laughing with Chloe. “Good morning,” he greeted but the ladies were too busy talking that they didn’t even hear him or maybe they heard and didn’t want to reply, Grey couldn’t say.

Grey entered the room and tried to get ready very fast. As he was making his tie, his phone beeped. It was a message from Aphrodite.

Grey’s eyes went wide with shock as he read through. The Blue Diamond was really rare, that was what Aphrodite confirmed. In fact, only one of the diamonds was in the city at the time of the auction to that moment. It was because of this that Aphrodite desperately wanted to buy it. That was why she kept increasing the price until she couldn’t go any further.

Where did Chris get the Diamond then? When Grey got out, Smith was at the table which was very odd. He took his seat beside Him anyways since Chloe had taken his seat.

“What are you doing here, smith?” Emma bombarded him, she doesn’t seem to like him.

Smith smiled. “I’m at my uncle’s house. I think that question is a bit out of it.” Lucy nodded. “He’s right, Emma. He had equal rights as you and Avery,” he affirmed. Emma groaned, clearly unsatisfied by her father’s remark. Silence permeated for a while. “Lest I forget, Smith will be handling the contract with Protos Pubblicita,” Lucy said suddenly “What! Grandpa! I should be doing that!” Avery said quickly.

“Yes, she’s in charge,” Emma chimed in.

Lucy cleared his throat meaningfully and took a glass of water. He drank to his heart’s content. “Smith is handling the contract and that’s it!” He said in a voice

that left no room for more words. Avery’s face fell and everyone went silent. But there was a satisfied smile on Smith’s face.

Grey groaned inwardly. He wondered what Lucy was trying to do when he, as Hercules, stated that Avery must be the head of the team that would be involved with Protos Pubblicita.

Lucy and Smith left way earlier.

“I don’t believe my father can do this!” Emma fumed.

Benjamin, who has been quiet for a while, decided to talk.” I believe he had his reasons for this. I mean he’s not removing Avery as the CEO.”

“Until when?” Emma yelled angrily. “I’m sure Smith is talking into his ears. And this is all Grey’s fault!” She pointed an accusing finger at him. She was red as charcoal.

Grey stood up quickly. “I will leave now, bye,” he said quickly and rushed out of the room with his

briefcase.

He pulled a call to Jane the moment he pulled out of the Robison house. “Hi, Mr. Fox. Good morning,” Jane’s voice came from the other side, loud and clear.

“Protos Pubblicita is going to meet with LN material today right?”

“Yes, master. We are supposed to get into work today,” she explained. Grey shook his head once. “Alright, now if they send Smith over, we are terminating the contract.”

Jane went quiet for a moment. “Alright, master.”

“Yes, this contract will only carry on if it’s Avery Robinson that is representing LN material. Tell them this,” he ordered.

“Alright Boss,” Jane replied softly and Grey hung up.

Seth had set an appointinent with Chris at the office a day before. “So, what do you want me to do now?” Chris asked as he crossed his long legs, with curious eyes watching Seth.

Seth let out a sigh.”I only want you to help me with the shares. I will definitely

pay you back soon!” He assured him. “That aside, you will get it with interest if you can help me.”

Chris nodded briefly. Seth worked for him. So, it was only fair that he helped him. But he wanted to use the money to get a very expensive wristwatch for Lucy’s birthday because Avery told him that he loved watches. But at the mention of interest, Chris couldn’t help but find the offer good to him. “Alright, then but I can’t guarantee I will be able to pay it all. I will write you the cheque for 60%shares. You can sort the remaining 10% on your own.”

Seth smiled. “Thank you so much,” he was so happy.

He could easily sort himself out with the remaining 10%. He could even take a bank loan.

Chris wrote him the cheque.

Just as he walked out of the office, Chris’s phone rang. It was Avery.

Chris was happy because Avery had never called him during work hours. He knew that she would love the Blue Diamond. “Hello Avery, how are you doing?”

“Fine. I want to ask you a question, Chris.” Avery couldn’t stop thinking about the blue Diamond and wanted to confirm the price with Chris. She doesn’t really expect Chris to get her a 50 million dollars worth of Diamond. What if he was proposing? How much would the ring cost? Probably 100 of million dollars.

“Yes, go on.”

“How much did you get the blue Diamond?” She didn’t let Chris talk as she continued. “I’m not really asking to sound rude to you but I met a long-time friend and she told me it’s Pure Rina’s heart. In fact, she told me how rare it

was.”

It was at that point that Chris felt at ease. “How much did she say it cost?”

“Fifty million dollars. So, I just wanted to ask and be sure she wasn’t exaggerating.”

Chris’ heart skipped a sudden beat. How did it happen? He got the ring for five million dollars. How did it happen? “Are you there?” Avery jerked him out of his thoughts. “Yes,” he stuttered. “May I call you back? I have an appointment to handle,” and he hung up. He placed a call to the guy he got the ring from. The guy was international and dealt with a lot of diamonds.

“Hello.”

“Max, I’m only going to ask you this question once. How much was the blue Diamond you sold to me the other day?”

“Five million dollars.”

Chris felt a stab of annoyance. “I’m talking about the actual price!” He yelled in a thick voice.

Max went silent for a moment. “It’s 50 million dollars. It’s not on sale and that was an imitation.”

“What!” Chris roared. “You mean you sold a fake ring to me?” Chris couldn’t believe his ears.

Max sighed. “You wanted something very unique and rare but you were not ready to pay the price. As a matter of fact, the ring could cost more like the last auction. Aman got it for 200 million dollars.” “What!” Chris’ eyes almost went out of their socket in shock. Who was rich enough to get a ring for 200 million dollars at a go? Even Chris could not do so.
