Chapter Twenty Eight

"There is nothing to talk about, how dare you cheat on me? You know about me that's why you're doing this right? Don't do this Mushk please." One second before Zohan was yelling and at the end he was pleading her holding his hair in tight grip, pacing back and forth.

Mushk who was still sitting on the floor was shocked seeing her husband's psychotic demeanor and was also confused as to what he was talking about.

"I don't...I Don't know what..." Mushk tries to steer the situation, but is once again interrupted by Zohan's loud voice.

"Don't! Don't you dare say anything! I know what you're about to say so better shut your mouth or else I won't spare you." Saying this, he stormed out of the room leaving her in a pool of misery, hurt, betrayal and pain, lots of pain but shocked is what overshadowed all these emotions in her.

Mushk didn't know what went wrong for him to act like this but she knew one thing, that he shouldn't have raised his hand on her. Whatever happened, she wasn't the one to back out.

She knew what she had to do. That was to wait, wait till her brother wakes up so she could tell him about his monstrous deed.

Mushk gets up from the floor and goes to the washroom to clear any signs of tears. But she didn't need to hide tears, she had to hide the mark on her cheek and chin gifted by her husband.

Washing her face, she looks in the mirror to see his hand print on her cheek and two fingerprints on her chin, they were turning in a nasty purple shade.

She palms her mouth to suppress the sobs urging to break out. No one in her whole life ever hit her and here she was, trying to hide those marks due to her husband's courtesy.

She always thought she'd only have to hide her tears but here she was, standing in front of a mirror with a concealer and a makeup brush, trying to hide the marks.

‘What about the mark which he imprinted on your heart." She could hear her inner voice asking her.

She leaves the washroom, her eyes bloodshot while the marks are gone but the swelling was still there.

It was evening, the weather was gloomy ,as if it was about to rain.

It was a sign, A sign which represented that the storm had begun, but she had to be patient as no storm is permanent, after every storm there is sunshine and rainbow.

Mujtaba and Murtuza were playing while Mushk was in deep thoughts ,when she heard the main door open and the jingling of keys.

Zohan enters the living room and looks up to see Mushk in deep thought, seeing the swell a pang of guilt hits his chest but was once again overpowered by the voices, still he wanted to make it up to her.
