Silly Bride novel (Winnie and Xavier) novel Chapter 103

When Yulissa stepped through the door and saw Winnie casually peeling an orange on the couch, she froze.

“What are you doing here?” she asked after a brief pause.

“Hi, Bad Woman!” Winnie greeted her with a smile.

This fool is still smiling after everything that has happened?

Feeling angry yet jealous, she walked up to Winnie and fumed, “How could you smile when Xavier is still missing? He went out to the sea late at night with an injured leg because of you! This is all your fault! He’s dead because of you!”

You b*tch… I would’ve slapped you into your next life if I didn’t have to keep this act up! You and Zyon were the ones who caused Xavier’s accident at sea! How are you able to claim the moral high ground after doing something so heinous? Does your shamelessness know no bounds?

Winnie clenched her fist behind her back as she suppressed her boiling anger.

Yulissa’s yelling soon drew the attention of those inside the ward, and Josiah was the first to come running out.

Winnie quickly hid herself behind him as she cried with reddened eyes, “Uwaaahhh! Bad Specky, this bad woman said I got Handsome killed! I didn’t do it! I really didn’t!”

A frown formed on Josiah’s face as he looked at the way Winnie grabbed onto his sleeves. He then turned to glare at Yulissa.

“Stop this nonsense, Yulissa!”

“Nonsense? You know what happened the night Xavier went out to sea! He left without even telling us, and it’s all because of her! How is this nonsense? Also, why are you siding with this dumb*ss too?” Yulissa exclaimed in confusion.

Taking a step toward Yulissa, he questioned, “Who pushed Dumbo down the hill, then? Come on, don’t act like you don’t know that!”

“It was Kylie who pushed her! She has already confessed to it, so what are you going on about? I thought Xavier was the only one this dumb*ss seduced, but it looks like she has you wrapped around her finger too, Josiah!” Yulissa snapped back at him.

There’s no way I’d admit to pushing that dumb*ss down the hill!

Just then, Benjamin stepped out of the ward as well. “Ms. White!”

After shooting Winnie a glance, he glared sternly at Yulissa and asked, “What was it you said? Why did Xavier head out to sea late at night?”

Feeling relieved that she had found someone to back her up, Yulissa pointed at Winnie, shouting, “It’s all because of her! He was so desperate to find her that he ignored his injuries and went out to sea late at night! That’s how he ended up having an accident!”

Benjamin turned toward Louis and asked with a frown, “Is this true?”

Louis stole a glance at Winnie, who was standing behind Josiah, and saw her nodding slightly at him.

Having received her instruction, Louis gave Benjamin a firm answer. “Yes, Mr. Fairchild. That was indeed what happened.”

“Heh… Way to go, Xavier… Way to f*cking go!”

I’ve warned Xavier about that dumb*ss, but he ignored my warning and risked his life for her anyway!

Benjamin got so mad that he swung at the lamp next to him, knocking it over on the spot.

He then walked up to Winnie and yelled, “Who do you think you are, huh? You’re nothing but a dumb*ss! It should’ve been you who died instead!”

Upon hearing that, Josiah furrowed his brows.

Shielding the woman with his arm, he defended her, “What happened to Xavier was an accident, Mr. Fairchild. Nobody wished for that to happen. All lives are equal, so you shouldn’t say that to Winnie.”

“Equal?” Benjamin could not help but find his statement laughable. “You think this dumb*ss’ life is worth the same as Xavier’s? Have you lost your sense of logic after being a doctor for so long?”

“Mr. Fairchild—”

“Enough!” Benjamin rubbed his aching forehead as he continued, “Look, I’m very upset about Xavier going missing. I’m not in the mood to argue about this right now, so please don’t say anything further. As for this dumb*ss… What is she doing here? Who brought her over?”

“I did. She’s here to visit Old Mr. Fairchild,” Josiah replied.

“That won’t be necessary! She is not welcomed here, so take her away!”

Not wanting to let them bully Winnie any further, Josiah nodded and did as told.

Right when the two of them were about to leave, though, Benjamin changed his mind and called out to them, “Wait! Hold it right there, you two!”

Pausing in his tracks, Josiah turned around to face him. “Yes? Is there anything else, Mr. Fairchild?”

Benjamin ignored him and slapped Winnie hard across the face.

It happened so quickly that neither Josiah nor Winnie were able to respond in time.

Winnie’s ears were already ringing by the time she realized what had happened.

What? Did he just slap me in front of everyone? How dare he humiliate me like this?

With her fists clenched, she was about to charge forward when Josiah stepped in her way.

“Mr. Fairchild! How could you hit her like that?” he exclaimed angrily.

Rubbing his palm that was stinging from the slap, Benjamin remarked in disgust, “Getting a slap is a small price to pay for causing the loss of my son! Listen, my son is gone while this dumb*ss is still alive! Get this through that thick skull of yours! Louis, do you have Hamish’s contact number? If you do, call him now!”

Louis instinctively tried to seek Winnie’s permission, but Josiah’s tall figure blocked his view of her completely.

With Benjamin urging him on the side, Louis had no choice but to give Hamish a call.

The moment the call got through, Benjamin snatched his phone over.

“It’s me, Benjamin. If I recall, we terminated the marriage of convenience a month ago. Come take your daughter home and stay the heck away from my family! If I see either of you Garlands ever again, I’ll drive you all out of Avenport!”

“What are you doing, Benjamin?” Rufus asked as he stepped out of the ward with the help of his butler.

Flashing him a pained look, Benjamin replied, “Dad, Xavier has lost his life for the sake of this dumb*ss! Do you seriously still see her as a great match for Xavier? Open your eyes, Dad.”
