Silly Bride novel (Winnie and Xavier) novel Chapter 147

“Okay. Since you devoted your life to me, I’ll admit to our relationship.” Winnie smiled and hooked her arms around Xavier’s neck.

Xavier remained silent and frowned, displaying his dissatisfaction inaudibly.

Even so, his eyes were only on the skittish woman in his arms. “Dumbo, we are a married couple regardless of your acknowledgment.”

“Fine, fine.” Winnie tried to push away his iron bar-like arm. “We’re a married couple. A married couple. Now, let go of me. My waist is going to break because of you.”

“Nope!” he refused.

The more Winnie struggled, the tighter Xavier held her. He wanted to be as close to her as possible.

Not only that, he even lowered his head and rained kisses on her shoulder.

Feeling ticklish from his ministrations, Winnie could not help but laugh. “Let go of me quickly. I want to take a bath.”

Xavier lowered his voice as he whispered in Winnie’s ear, “You don’t have to do it yourself. Your hubby can do it for you.”

He had been pining after her for so long and barely managed to curb his “mental illness.” Now that she was truly his, Xavier would not give up easily.

In addition, Winnie was quite satisfied with him too, so they quickly moved the location of their exchange from the bathroom to the bedroom.

After two rounds, Winnie could no longer keep her eyes open. She was in a haze when Xavier carried her to the bathroom to wash up.

Winnie was unaware of how long she had been asleep after she was placed on the bed. Either way, she was woken up by a soft conversation.

It seemed that Xavier was on a call on the balcony.

At this time, the lights in the house were not on, and it was moonless outside. Only the phone in Xavier’s hand provided a glimmer of light.

Seeing this, Winnie immediately sat up on the bed.

She found her phone, and after the screen lit up, she noted it was a quarter before four in the morning.

If she had not remembered wrongly, their second round of intercourse ended around three-twenty.

This also meant that she had only slept for dozens of minutes.

However, Xavier appeared distressed at this hour. Who is he talking to on the phone?

With a frown, she pushed away the sheets before climbing down the bed slowly.

Her movements were lighter than a cat’s, so when she reached the window, Xavier, who was outside, did not notice her.

He was still focused on his call. “I was indeed deeply conflicted before. I even thought I was crazy for wanting a mentally impaired woman. However, when I said I won’t bring her to the banquet and made Yulissa her replacement, then showed her Yulissa’s picture, I saw disappointment on Dumbo’s face. It was as if she had been abandoned. I was swayed instantly and confirmed my feelings. Before today, I thought it would be hard to admit to loving a mentally impaired person. However, I realized that everything was so simple once I said it out loud. Josiah, I was overthinking this matter before. Luckily, I could salvage things in time and didn’t hurt her. Yes. Just earlier, we finally became a real married couple. Although she’s mentally impaired, I will take responsibility for her. I will slowly teach her everything she doesn’t understand.”

It was said that men would be exhausted after an intense intimate session, but Winnie did not expect Xavier to still have some energy after two rounds and could even call Josiah at three o’clock in the morning.

She knew Josiah was Xavier’s personal doctor and also his best friend. Hence, Xavier would confide a lot in Josiah.

However, private matters like consummating their marriage did not have to be shared with Josiah.

Was Xavier always like this? Or was it due to the influence of drugs? Winnie decided the latter was more likely to be true.

This was because she had just received two texts from Josiah.

The first one did not contain any context except for three question marks.

Meanwhile, the second text started with an ellipsis and a question: Had Xavier contracted another illness?

To prevent the latest ill version of Xavier from leaking more of their private matters, Winnie immediately lifted her hand and knocked on the glass window.

Hearing the noise, Xavier turned his head around.

When they made eye contact, Winnie asked, “It’s late. Are you not coming to bed? Can’t you handle whatever it is during the day?”

In the middle of the darkness, Xavier sucked in a deep breath upon seeing the woman in front of him.

For a moment, his mind was filled with various scenes.

Some were from the sea, or midair in the sky. In there, he could not find a stable footing. He seemed to have lost Winnie and could not find her anywhere.

“Dumbo!” Xavier did not know why, but he lunged forward and embraced Winnie. “You’re mine! Only mine!”

When he said those words, he did not know why he suddenly felt as if he had just regained what he had lost, especially since he had never lost her. The duration they were separated had never exceeded three days.

Xavier hugged her so tightly that Winnie found it difficult to breathe.

Perhaps it was because he was standing outside for a long time, Winnie felt a coldness on his clothing.

On such a cool night, she suddenly wanted to share her warmth with him.

Hence, Winnie tightened her arms around him and let him feel the suffocation from being embraced too tightly.

Soon after, Winnie noticed a problem—Xavier was not sleepy at all.

The two of them lay down while facing each other. Winnie was very sleepy and could not keep her eyes open, but he kept staring at her in the dark.

When Winnie woke up the next morning past eight o’clock, Xavier was still staring at her.

He even had dark eye circles under his eyes now.

Winnie frowned and touched his forehead, but he did not have any fever.

“Did you not sleep at all the whole night?” Winnie asked in disbelief. “You’ve been awake until now?”

She hoped he would deny it.

However, Xavier nodded and began playing with her fingers. “I wasn’t sleepy, so I couldn’t sleep.”

“But I heard from Josiah that you’ve been busy handling company matters and Zyon’s issue recently, so you haven’t slept well. How are you not drowsy?” Winnie questioned.

“Don’t know. I feel very energetic instead. You can feel it for yourself if you want to!” After saying that, Xavier pulled Winnie’s hand under the sheets. “I promise you’ll be satisfied!”

“I’m not talking about this!” Winnie pushed Xavier away and continued, “I’m being serious here!”

Winnie then sat up to look for her phone.

Xavier was upset. “I waited for you the whole night, but you pushed me away once you woke up. Dumbo, do you know what a wife’s responsibility is?”

“Buzz off,” she retorted.

“Dumbo! Is it because I’ve been spoiling you too much?” His overbearing attitude showed itself, and with one hand, he subdued Winnie, pulling her under the covers.
