Sinful Mates 1-3 novel Chapter 94

  Imogen’s POV

The next day Astral came over and we explained everything that happened yesterday. Astral patiently listened before her eyes sparkled brightly as she watched me, and I knew she was looking at the aura surrounding me. I knew what she would find.

“The darkness is everywhere, yet you’re managing to keep it from touching you?” She says quizzically.

“How do you do it?” I ask looking at hers, which was like looking into a white cloud.

“I channel it, into objects usually or I mask it. Unfortunately, with magic like ours, it can be unpredictable but still manageable. Yours is different though because of what you are. Mine doesn’t get as dark as yours, doesn’t harness as much energy” She tells me as Tobias brings Thaddeus in.

Astral brought some crystals with her and laid them on the table. In front of me.

“What are they for” I asked. They look like onyx, yet with a red tinge to them.

“These are seer crystals, they pick up energy and magic, here” She says passing me one as soon as it touched my hand the stone changed burning gold with blinding light.

“See? Shows that you are the same as me, only stronger. Mine doesn’t burn as bright. So, what I want to do is. Tobias put your son on the table for me” she said patting the table in front of her. Thaddeus sits on the table and instantly starts pulling at the socks on his feet.

Astral then picks up the stones which glow in her hand the same they did with me. She whispers under her breath and I watch amazed as she opens her hands, and the five stones rise before moving around my son. Thaddeus watches the stones and suddenly his eyes burn bright green. The stones start glowing and changing as they harness the magic from within him. They burn gold then silver then red like lava before becoming a mixture of the three colours swirling within the stones like they trap lightening inside.

Astral gasps loudly and the stones fall from the air and hit the table.

“What happened?” I ask, Astral rummages through her oversized bag pulling stones and amulets out. I can tell from her aura she is nervous.

“Astral, what is it?” I tell her.

“You didn’t feel it?” She asks and I see Theo and Tobias look to me.

  “Feel what?”

“Everything” She murmurs, her eyes turning white.

“He is everything. The prophecies spoke about this very thing. Someone that could end the world, he has the power to destroy everyone and everything from this realm to the next.”

“You’re not making sense?” I tell her as she continues to ramble.

“You must save him from it,” she mutters before her eyes lock onto my bracelet, and she grips my wrist removing my bracelet.

“Save him from what?” I ask, alarmed that something wants to hurt my innocent baby.

“Himself dear, you need to save him from himself. No one should have this much power, no one should be able to harness magic as dark and twisted like that. You need to keep it from him. Take it from him. Magic like that shouldn’t exist. It is ancient and old; the sort of magic people write history about after it has ruined the world” She whispers. I look to my son and can’t imagine him becoming a monster. He is an innocent baby for crying out loud, not evil, not a monster.

She places the bracelet back in my hand, and I see my broken charm that held my magic and a new one that Astral placed on it. It looked like a pentagram covered in thorned vines. The sort of charm that looked like black magic or necromancy would hold.

“It’s for his own good dear, he gets a hold of that much power he will destroy us all” She mutters eyeing my son’s angelic face. I knew Astral meant no harm as she looked at him, but I could sense her fear of him, smell it oozing from her pores.

  “So, what do we do?”

“We trap it in there and we hid it for all eternity, no one must ever find it” She whispers pointing to the charm.

Remember when you healed the darkness from Theo, we need to do the same instead of absorbing it. We need to trap it and we are going to need help” She says pulling out her phone and walking outside. I grab my son from the table.

“Are you sure about this?” Tobias asks, rubbing Thaddeus’s arms. I don’t know, but whatever she sensed in him, scares her. She is the oracle, and if it scares her, it sure as hell scares me” I tell him and they both agree.

“How will it affect Thaddeus though taking it?”

I look at Thaddeus in my arms, so pure and innocent as he plays with my hair.

“We never tell him, let him believe he is just a hybrid. If what she says is true, I won’t lose my son, I will do what I have to even if he ends up hating me in the end. We need to do this for him, I won’t take a chance, not with him” I tell them.

Astral comes inside. “We need to prepare, the others are on their way, which is the biggest room in this house” We point to the lounge room. Astral shakes her head.

“No, we need more room. We might be best off doing it outside, safest that way. And we need salt and lots of it.”

“I can go, but are we really not going to question this? Like how someone even has this sort of magic? And he seems fine now.” Theo questions her, looking at Thaddeus with concern.

“I am sorry, but I can’t take that chance, we can figure the rest out later. Better to do it now. He won’t remember this moment, won’t remember the magic. My best bet is that there is something in your ancestry to explain this, then the three of you creating the first Tribrid baby to exist has only enhanced his magic. But I would bet my life on it that your bloodline dates back before there was light and dark magic, when magic was unlimited before we brought forth and found the balance”.

  “Balance?”

“Yes, between good and evil, why do you think there are five points to a pentagram, each one represents a different element. Earth, fire, water, air, and spirit. The section in the middle holds them together what if we removed it and let them crash it would create havoc? That’s why witches have their own element, the exception being spirit users? They have control over all elements, but predominantly the energy each element brings. What your son has is the darkest parts of all those elements. What he has is something I have never seen before, something new yet old. His magic is not of this world. It is from the creators of it. I think there was a reason your mother got rid of her magic and a reason she hid yours. I have a feeling she may have seen this. If my guides are correct, she did this to protect not you but her grandson. You, awakening your make magic, opened the floodgates to something different, something that your ancestors kept buried.”
