Sinful Mates 1-3 novel Chapter 196

  Thaddeus POV

I sent Orion and Ryland down to keep Evelyn distracted. I knew if she found out Amara and I were sneaking off to find Bianca she would want to come. Once I felt she was distracted, I rang Amara’s phone letting it ring three times before hanging it up. Amara mists into the room within a few minutes of me calling. I wish I had figured out how to do that, she had been doing it since she could walk and it made hide and seek a real bitch when we were kids.

I press my finger to my lips, listening out for Evelyn. I could hear them in the kitchen. Amara holds out her hand. “She is distracted for now” she tells me and I nod to her, taking my sister's hand. The room disintegrating around me before I feel the suction of her magic zapping us into another destination which was her hippy style bedroom.

“Did you tell mum?’ I ask her sitting on the end of her bed. “No, if she comes it won't end well” Amara tells me and I nod.

“You sure you can get in there?’ I ask her and she thinks for a second.

“I know I can get us in the cell because I have seen it now, but where we end up exactly I am not sure. We could be walking into a trap, I can't see anything past coming into the cell”

“What do you mean?” I ask her.

“I mean ever since you brought me back my magic has been dwindling, like it isn't at full strength. I have been missing heaps. Sometimes I can’t even see the next day, let alone what the future holds anymore”

“You didn’t think to say anything?” I ask her a little worried.

“No, Bianca and I had been trying to figure out why, we do have a theory though” She admits.

“And what's that?” I ask her.

“Since bringing me back, my magic is stronger the closer I am to you, like my power source runs off your energy now, when your magic was gone sometimes it was impossible for me to draw magic unless I had fed or pulled energy from the elements, my own magic is no longer easy for me to draw on” I think over her words.

“I do have a question for you though, how has your mood been since having your magic back?”

“Good for the most part, the darkness tries to bleed into me but I have gotten better at forcing it away. Why?”

“When you brought me back, it used a massive boost of your power and I think some of mine may have bled into you”

“You think I stole your magic?” I ask her. Amara shakes her head.

“No, I think mine mellowed yours out like balance in a way, you didn’t take it from I can still feel it. I just sometimes struggle to draw on it, like my battery is running low”

“Maybe we can boost it again?” I tell her and she seems thoughtful for a second.

“Bianca seemed to think, maybe if I pulled on your magic and boosted yours like you did me, it would reverse it but then that would mean the darkness tainting you again” Kind of between a rock and hard place. Being Amara gets her magic back full strength, but I get the darkness back.

“Not now Thaddeus, we will figure it out. Worse case scenario my magic stays weak, I am fine with that as long as you don’t give into the darkness” She says and I nod but I feel like I have stolen from her, Amara always loved her magic and the thought of me ruining it for her upset me.

“Did you tell mum any of this?”

“No, I knew she would worry, Bianca doesn’t want mum to go to extremes trying to help me. I am fine, so it doesn't matter that much, but you know mum”

“We will figure it out,” I told her.

“So what next, this is your plan?” I tell her.

“Well I am hoping it will be straight forward, in and out”

  “And if it's not?”

“That’s where you come in, devil in disguise” She says her lips tugging up.

“So you're bringing me as a bodyguard basically”

“Yep, shit goes wrong you bring the place down” She says and I sigh.

“Fine let's get this over with then” I tell her standing up.

Amara grabs my hands before closing her eyes, I could see the concentration on her face as she pictured the cell Bianca was in. Nervousness creeped in when nothing happens at first, and I could actually feel what she meant about her magic weakening, it was flickering like a candle. I feel my energy deciding to test her theory, letting it bleed out of me. I watch the black tendrils bleeding through my veins as they spread down my arms and into my hands. Amara gasps when she feels it touch her, her eyes opening as she looks at her hands before giving mine a squeeze and closing her eyes again. With blinding speed I didn't even have a chance to inhale properly before I felt a rush of magic surge as she pulled on mine and zapping us into a darkened room. The jolt knocking the air out of my lungs and winding me.

“I guess Bianca’s theory about my magic is correct” I hear Amara whisper as we let our eyes adjust to the darkness. Looking around, we were in a cell, I touched the bars to find they are made of silver, my skin sizzling. In front of the cell was a steel door and corridor, a very narrow one. The sort that would have me rubbing shoulders on both walls.

“Don’t touch the bars Amara, they are made of silver” I tell her but I only get silence making me spin around to see why she was so quiet.

“Bianca?” I gasp as Amara kneels beside her. She was literally skin and bone, cheeks so hollow I could see her teeth through her skin. She looked like she aged a hundred years, just a skeleton with skin and eyes.I bit my wrist pressing it to her lips, her lips not even moving and Amara had to pry her lips open for my blood to go into the mouth.

“Come on Aunty B” Amara says, trying to jostle any reaction out of her. Slowly her lips started to smooth out, but my blood wasn’t anything like human blood and wouldn't rejuvenate her as quickly as what she craved.

“Amara?” She whispers her eyes sleepily blinking.

“Right here we need to get you out of here” She says as we hear a door open down the corridor. Amara and I both looked down the corridor when I saw her. Laura walked toward the cell, completely oblivious to us standing in its shadows. I waited for her to get closer and edge toward the door which was only made of steel. She pulls a small medicine cup from her pocket pouring some blood in it before putting the cup on the ground and grabbing a stick pushing it toward the bars, still completely unaware of us inside the cell with Bianca.

“Thaddeus No” Amara whispers too low for her to hear. But I was seeing red, she hurt my Evie, hurt my Aunty and before I could think of anything I lunged at the door. My hands going to rip it off when I feel burning hot pain shoot through my hands as I grab the bars before I am blasted backwards.

“Demetri” I hear Laura scream as I hit the bricks in the back of the cell. I hear running and people shouting. I groaned getting up off the ground, the door was electrified. I feel for my magic, but it was weak from the jolt.

“Not yet, we need to get out of here, don't waste your magic”

“What?” I turn to look at Amara.

  “I can end this”

“Not in your state, your magic is weakened, we don’t even know where we are or what's above us and I need you to get us out of here” Amara says and I see Laura pressing against the brick wall far from my reach.

“I am going to enjoy ripping you into pieces next time” I tell her walking toward the bars just as a face I never thought I would ever see again walks over to the cell. Though he was no longer human anymore but a vampire, that much was startling clear by the crimson red eyes that stared back at me, he had a smirk on his face.

“Thaddeus, I was wondering when you would stop by” He says, making sure to keep his distance. I feel for my magic letting it build.

“Ah ah ah, any electricity you try to play with in there, can't escape past these bars I made sure of it, No, I just want to have a friendly chat” He says before looking past me to Amara.

“How’s Bianca she was looking a little parched” He says his eyes going to the back of the cell.

“I will make you a deal, you come work for me and I will let your family live” He says and I chuckle at his words.

“I was being genuine Thaddeus, a way out before your family becomes involved”

“You already involved them, you think I will let you live after what you have done?’ I ask him.

“Well something to think about, right now you can't afford to use your magic not after a jolt of 25000 volts of electricity especially if you want to get your Aunt out, though next time I will remember that, I thought it would sit you on your ass, clearly not”

I feel my magic surge, electricity zapping between my fingers when I feel a hand grab my wrist before seeing black. Only to materialise back into my living room. Evelyn was playing with a puzzle with Mara. She jumps when we suddenly appear beside her, she looks to the stairs and back at me confused before noticing Bianca on the ground, Amara’s hand still wrapped around my wrist, as she knelt her hand holding Bianca’s.

“What the fuck is going on?” She says standing up and picking up Amara. Orion and Ryland run into the room before stopping.

“I will get some blood bags,” Orion says, rushing out of the house.

“You better start talking Thaddeus” Evelyn says, looking between the three of us.
