Sold to Mr. Arrogant novel Chapter 78

Lily’s POV:

Siergo was sipping his tea, he is half-Italian and I could tell that he is so calm and cold by nature. Unlike most Italians, he does not get angry that quickly, on the opposite, his black curls sliding on his eyebrows gave him a gentle look.

“You are here, Lily,” he started.

“Yeah, we needed to talk,” I was speaking in a bit of an angry tone.

“You sure hold grudges, Lily,”

“You shouldn’t have talked this way yesterday, Shawn has nothing to do with his father's schemes, I don’t want to drag him into this,” I clarified.

“Is that what you think?”

“Yes, I am telling you this is between me, you, and Gerald alone,” I repeated.

“Are you telling me you didn’t even mention what Gerald did to you to Shawn?”

“No,”

“Why?” he asked.

“As I said I do not wish to trouble him, he lost his mother; I know how it feels when you fight with your own father. Not a pleasant feeling, I do not want Shawn to feel this way…”

“I do not need you to worry about me, Lily,” A voice arose from behind my back.

Damn, why does this always happen to me? I will carry a mirror with me from now on so that I would watch over my back.

“When would you stop showing up like that?” I questioned as I understood what was happening, Siergo spotted Shawn standing there but still asked those questions.

Is he perhaps trying to tell him about what happened? Why does he want to drag him into this?

“I will respond to what you have said earlier, Lily. I need Shawn, he is the trump card of my plan and his help is not only needed but it is quite crucial,” Siergo explained as he pulled the seat next to me motioning for Shawn to take a seat.

“Okay, I do not seem to understand what is happening? Did you invite him here?”

“No, you didn’t want me to come?” Shawn replied.

“I didn’t say that, I am just surprised that you showed up like that,”

Shawn ignored my comment; he is really getting on my nerves. He turned his head facing Siergo and started speaking.

“Why would you trust me?” Shawn began.

“Because I do not have any other choice. No one can take down your father but you,”

“Let me hear your plan,” Shawn ordered.

“I have already gathered some bank transactions that your father made to several accounts abroad in shell corporations overseas. In addition to misreporting and underreporting income, that is how he avoids paying taxes by tax evasion…”

“That is all you got? Some paperwork?”

Siergo smiled as he let out a recording from his pocket.

“Do not feel perplexed, I keep it with me all the time, do you know what is that?”

“How would I?”

“This record goes back to 15 years ago, the exact date is…”

“April 10th…”

Siergo was surprised upon hearing Shawn’s confident statement.

“You already know?”

“Yes, the driver isn’t the only one who recorded this conversation, I did too,” Shawn clarified.
