Sweet Twins novel Chapter 60

If it weren't for Bobby's invitation, she would not be going to the party.

Since she had already agreed to be there, it was only right she pick up a present.

After careful consideration, Nancy spent six grand to buy a belt for Charles.

With her price range and Charles' taste, it seemed like the best she could do.

She tucked the belt neatly into a gift box.

Simultaneously, Bobbly was flitting around the house, getting everything ready for Nancy's arrival.

He directed the servants to trim the garden and decorate the house as though he was an adult, running the house.

Angelina's eyes widened. She felt the little guy seemed to have grown up a lot overnight.

In the past, she was always the one doing all these things in preparation for Charles' birthday.

"Bobby, my good boy, you are taking such good care of your Grandma, taking things off her plate so she can rest." Angelina hugged him tightly as she said this.

Nodding, Bobby said, "Yes. I've grown up. Grandma won't have to work so hard anymore."

A lump came into her throat and she almost cried, "Honey, you're so sweet. I love you so much!"

"I love Grandma, too," Bobby said shyly and kissed on Angelina's forehead.

Moved by his words, Angelina clutched him tighter and kissed him on the cheek. "Sweetheart, just know all this hard work will be so worth it. Your dad will be thrilled to see you acting so capable."

In reality, Bobby knew his Daddy would not care about any of this. He was already learning that women were so easy to impress with these kinds of things.

Besides, he did all this for his mommy. So hopefully she was also so easily swayed.

Thinking of this, Bobby, however, said, "Grandma, we should invite more people to the party than just us, don't you think? For Daddy's sake we should celebrate properly."

He was trying to trap her into allowing Nancy to come without her realizing.

Angelina agreed without hesitation, "If that's what you want. I'm letting you make all the decision for your daddy's dinner party since you're doing such a good job already."

"That's kind of you, Grandma. So I can invite whoever I'd like?" Bobby said with a sly smile.

"Of course. You can even invite all the kids at your school. I'm totally okay with it," said Angelina happily.

"Great! I'll prepare invitations for everybody I want then, okay Grandma?"

"Okay, good," Angelina answered, suspecting nothing.

Bobby asked the servant to bring paper, pen, and the red invitation cards. Then he slowly wrote down the names of each of his friends on an invitation.

Angelina stood there, idly watching him, still basking in joy at his self-sufficiency and thoughtfulness.

Then she saw Bobby write Nancy's name on one card and froze.

Angelina's smile gradually fell from her face. "You want to invite her?"

Continuing to write the date, Bobby said, "Grandma, Mommy healed your forehead and it's Daddy's birthday. Of course I want Mommy to come. Besides, Grandma said that I could invite anyone I want, right?"

"I..." Angelina trailed off. He had her there. She had said that. She could only reluctantly agree at this point. Also, she wanted him to remain so helpful.

"I'm also going to invite Uncle Jay!" As he said, he drew a square on the invitation and wrote, "Uncle, I sincerely invite you to attend Daddy's birthday party tomorrow night."

"Grandma, can I write an invitation like this?" He showed it to Angelina.

"Of course you can! You can write whatever you want!"

All of a sudden, the invitation letter in Bobby's hand was taken away by a big hand.

Bobby turned his head around and saw Charles standing behind him and greeted him happily, "Daddy, you're back."

"Well, you write better and better. Good boy!" And then he added, "Write an invitation card for your Aunt Doris, and I will have someone send it to your Uncle Jay, too."

Charles thought that Doris was still living in Jay's villa and it was inappropriate to leave her out.

"Doris?" Biting the fingers, Bobby thought for a while and shouted, "Oh, now I remember! It's that bad woman who likes to eat stinky tofu. I don't want to invite her. I don't like her."

His words amused both Angelina and Charles.

"She's your mommy's best friend. Are you sure you don't want to invite her?" said Charles, leaning over and pinching Bobby' nose.

After pondering over it for a while, Bobby reluctantly picked up his pen and said, "Since Mommy likes her, I'll invite her."

"That's a good boy." Charles turned from the pair and loosened his tie, then headed upstairs.

After leaving Jay's villa, Doris believed that she would never see Jay again.

It seemed that her life was back to normal, regular and calm without his presence.

However, she got angry when she saw that Jay was at the beach in red sports car with a flock of women.

"I knew he was a playboy, self conceited, arrogant, and bad tempered. See! I was right, humph!"

As she spoke, she tried to turn away from the sight.

But she couldn't help watching it.

Again and again.

Jay also hadn't forgotten Doris. He threw her out in a fit of anger, but when he came back home alone after the beach, he was overwhelmed by loneliness in the big, empty house.

It made him feel very uncomfortable.

He had actually never brought a woman besides Doris home before.

At one point, out of habit, he even called out, "Doris, apply the ointment on me."

Then he laughed crazily at himself as he remembered.

"Well, the most inconspicuous woman in the world could make you have lost your soul. Even I can't understand you now, Jay," said Jay in a low voice to his reflection.

'Maybe I'll get used to it and the loneliness will pass,' he thought.

Jay tried to focus on his work to distract himself.

The second day, when he was reprimanding his secretary, he suddenly heard a knock on his office door.

"Come in!" shouted Jay impatiently.

Hiram entered with and smile. "Mr. Fang, fancy seeing you so mad," he joked.

"Get out." Jay waved his hand at his secretary. "Don't come back until you bring two cups of coffee with sugar," he ordered.

"Yes." The secretary left in a hurry.

Jay pointed at the sofa, motioning for him to sit. Then he looked at the invitations in Hiram's hand and asked, "Is Charles going to marry that Nancy?"

Hiram leaned forward and put the invitations on Jay' desk and said, "No, tomorrow is Mr. Fu's birthday. He asked me to send these to you."

"Interesting. That's not like him. Why would he suddenly want to have a party?" As he spoke, he unfolded the invitation. His eyes twinkled with surprise when he saw the name on the invitation. "Doris...?"
