Sweet Twins novel Chapter 74

After all, he was clueless about what had happened to Flora.

"No, I can't stay in here. I'll go with you!" As Nancy spoke, she got out of the car.

"Fine!" By instinct, he took her hand.

They walked forward slowly and carefully towards the red Bentley.

As expected, they couldn't find Flora and Nadia in the car.

"Where could they have gone?" Nancy asked in despair.

"Last night's typhoon was so severe. I think Flora and Nadia must have taken shelter somewhere," Charles said.

"I hope Flora won't lose her mind and do something stupid!" Nancy added.

"Of course not!" Charles said firmly.

He knew that he was the only moral support Nancy had.

Nancy clung on to Charles' hand subconsciously.

"Nadia..." Charles shouted at the top of his voice.

"I'm here!" A loud voice seemingly of a girl came through from a nearby building.

"It's Nadia. It's her!" Nancy shouted excitedly.

"Nadia?" Charles asked once again.

But they didn't hear any reply.

"What's wrong? Why isn't she replying? What happened to Nadia?" Nancy felt as if her heart was about to jump out of her throat.

"Be careful. Just follow me behind," Charles whispered to her and took her behind him.

They went up all the way to the fifth floor from where they heard the shout. Suddenly, they saw an instant noodle box on the floor. "They should be here," Charles whispered.

As he walked a few steps forward, he was taken aback by a screaming woman.

"Charles, how come you are here with that woman?" Suddenly, Flora showed up with a ferocious look. She was strangling Nadia's neck with her arm.

Nadia's face was reddened. Tears streaked down her eyes as she looked at Nancy and Charles for help.

She didn't want to spend a moment longer with Flora, but she was too young to escape.

"Flora, calm down. Let Nadia go and I'll be your hostage, okay?" Nancy just wanted Nadia to be safe and sound.

"Haha, Nadia is my daughter and I love her very much. If you leave now, I won't hurt her. Get out!" Flora said, fiddling with her hair.

Her eyes were red. It seemed that she had a sleepless night.

She looked quite hyper and anxious. According to Nancy's professional judgment, this woman was in a state of mental disorder.

"Flora, I know Marcus hurt you. He is a jerk. Is it worth ruining yourself for someone like him?" Charles tried to comfort Flora.

"Who do you think yourself to be, Charles? You are nothing but a jerk like Marcus. You appear to be a fine looking man, but you have dirty tricks behind your back! And don't think you can fool me. I have seen through everything, but I just didn't say it. Ha ha, I just didn't say it!" Flora gnashed her teeth and laughed hysterically. Her behavior seemed increasingly erratic and unstable.

She tightened her grip on Nadia's neck, who began to roll her eyes.

"Yes, Flora, you are right. I agree with you. There are no good men in the world. But, Flora, I'm a woman too. Listen to me. Nadia is also a girl. We're innocent. Please let go of Nadia," Nancy persuaded her softly.

"You are Nancy, right?" asked Flora.

"Yes, I am Nancy."

"So, tell me Nancy, why are you so interested in Nadia? I knew it right from the moment when I saw you in the kindergarten. Is she your daughter?" Flora asked lightly.

Nancy looked at Charles' face helplessly.

She was clueless why Flora asked her that and she didn't know whether she should answer her.

Charles shook his head.

"You don't have to answer my question, Nancy. I'm not stupid and I can guess the answer. Nadia is not my daughter, so she ought to be your daughter," Flora said, as she took out her gun and lifted Nadia's chin with it. "I also know that Charles is her father. Look at her big eyes and the gleam in them. They are so similar to Charles'. And her pointed chin, just the same as yours, Nancy. She is a perfect combination of you both."

After saying that, she suddenly shouted at Charles, "Isn't it true, you bastard! It was you who gave a baby to Nancy, right?"

"Flora, you are talking nonsense. This child has nothing to do with Charles. It doesn't matter..."

Before Nancy could finish her words, Charles interrupted, "Flora, will you let Nadia go if I say yes?"

"Hahaha... You are such a jerk, Charles! No matter how Marcus mucked about with those men and women, he never had a child with any of them. But, you are so great! You even have such a big kid!" Suddenly, she seemed as she had totally lost herself and burst into tears. "Oh, poor Nadia! If I die, she'll be an illegitimate daughter. You bastard, Charles!"

"She's not his daughter!" Nancy tried to explain.

"Shut up!" Flora shouted at Nancy fiercely, and continued, "You're a fool, Nancy. He betrayed you, but you are still speaking for him. You'll end up worse than me one day, you know?"

"Flora, please let Nadia off this time, please," Nancy begged.

"No, I won't. I'll take Nadia away. Nadia, Mommy won't leave you alone in this cold world. Never. I'll take you away, I'll take you away..." Flora's voice trailed off. Suddenly, she applied more strength in her hands.

"Ah!" Nancy screamed and ran to them hastily.

"Nancy, stay away from me or I'll shoot. You silly woman, I'll..." At the moment when she increased her strength, Charles had already rushed over. He grabbed her wrist and tried to push her away at the same time.

But, Flora was not reconciled and she grabbed Nadia.

"I am going to die anyway!" In an instant, she climbed to the window with Nadia in her arms. When she bent down, Charles grasped Nadia's arm and said, "Don't be silly, Flora. It's not worth for you to die for Marcus. It's simply not worth it!"

"You are such a jerk, Charles! You are even more a jerk than Marcus!" Suddenly, in a turn of events, Flora let go of Nadia and grabbed one of Charles' arms. Immediately, Charles pulled Nadia out of the window. However, he stretched out his body too much and hung over in the air.

"It's an honor to have you die with me, Charles!" Flora laughed insanely and suddenly tightened her pull. There was a sound of wood breaking, "This is the fifth floor. We'll both die if we fall down. You'll die with me, won't you?"

"Don't let go! Charles, come up!" Nancy grasped Charles' ankle. But she couldn't bear the combined weight of Charles and Flora who had been hanging in the air.

"Flora, don't be silly!" Charles could come up if he were to let go of Flora's hand now.

But how could he give up a life just like that?

"Charles, I'm really done. Damn it. My life isn't meaningless. It has been too painful, haha..." Flora laughed wildly and suddenly exerted all her strength to pull Charles down. With a sound of snap of the wood, the two of them fell down immediately.
