Take Me Away novel Chapter 120

Fiona was really scared. All of a sudden, she began crying, partly because she wanted to distract Charles, and partly because she was upset that she couldn't just escape with Spencer right now.

"Charles!" Tears streamed down her eyes as she grasped Charles' shirt and blocked his way to the fitting room. "I don't want to try on clothes! Take me away!" she said between choked sobs.

"What's wrong with you?" Charles immediately froze, concerned by her sudden outburst. He didn't like seeing her cry.

Without saying a word, Fiona turned around and showed him her back. As she stood there with her back exposed, she subtly raised her head and saw that the ceiling tiles had been replaced. It seemed that Spencer had left.

"What happened to your back?" Charles suddenly shouted after seeing the part of her back which was exposed by the unzipped dress. There were two long and terrifying scars running down her back.

Regaining her composure, Fiona pressed her lips into a line and turned around. She had known that these scars would draw Charles' attention.

With trembling lips, she said, "Because of the scars on my back, I don't like these clothes. I was afraid that you'd get angry if I didn't wear them, but I don't want to show anyone these scars."

As she spoke, her heart pounded in fear. She hadn't expected that she could come up with a lie all of a sudden, but she hoped that it was convincing enough to trick Charles.

"So that's why you didn't come out?" With a frown, Charles took off his coat and wrapped it around her before pulling her into a hug. "Are you really that stupid? Come with me!" "My clothes!"

Fiona protested, turning back and reaching for her clothes. But she had barely grazed them with her fingers when Charles tightened his grip on her and pulled her away.

He pursed his lips tightly and said, "I'll have them brought to Cherry Grove Residence. Don't do such a stupid thing again."

"Okay." Fiona secretly clenched the phone in her hand, feeling relieved that she had managed to grab it before Charles had pulled her away.

The two of them got into the car and left, accompanied by the convoy.

Meanwhile, Spencer was on the roof. He had overheard Charles and Fiona's conversation in the fitting room and didn't jump out from his hiding spot until he saw them leave.

"Charles, how dare you!" he muttered angrily through gritted teeth. Staring in the direction they had left, he clenched his fist so hard that his knuckles began to crack. He had never imagined that such an evil person could be around Fiona. Now that he had learned that Charles was the one who had kidnapped her, the only thing that was still a mystery was the link between Charles and X. Perhaps the kidnapping of Fiona and Celine had nothing to do with X. Or maybe Charles was a member of X.

That moment, the saleswoman in the boutique came to clean up and suddenly saw Spencer walking out of the fitting room. Her eyes went wide with shock as she hadn't seen him enter the shop, let alone the fitting room. She mumbled something in a language that he didn't understand.

He snorted and glanced at the saleswoman from the corner of his eye before walked out of the store, leaving the employees stunned.

In the car, Charles turned to Fiona. "Do you want to go somewhere else?"

Fiona, who was curled up in a corner, shook her head. She felt miserable. What had happened in the fitting room kept replaying in her mind.

"How did you get the scars on your back?" Charles questioned her.

"I was in a car accident when I was very young," Fiona answered frankly, without showing any emotion.

Charles frowned. He thought of something but didn't say anything further.

The car drove towards Cherry Grove Residence at a steady pace. Although Fiona knew she would be back in her "cage" in a short while, her mindset was a little different than before. This time, she tried to memorize the route that they were taking, hoping it could be of some use to her later on.

As soon as they entered the mansion, Charles received a phone call. It seemed like it was about something important that had to be dealt with that very instant. Fiona tried to overhear more of the phone call but in vain. Still wearing Charles' coat, she walked up the staircase to her room. He gazed at her back and commanded his butler. "Get me an appointment with the best cosmetic surgeon in T Country tomorrow."

"Yes, sir."

Back in the room, Fiona lay on the bed feeling excited and nervous. She took out her phone without making a sound and discreetly sent a text message to Spencer.

"Have you gone back safely? I'm back in Cherry Grove Residence. Charles has left on some urgent matter."

After sending it successfully, Fiona waited for a while before she got a reply.

"I'm on my way home. I'm fine. By the way, save your cellphone's battery. I'm so worried about you. You must take good care of yourself. Don't let Charles take advantage of you. I felt like I was going crazy when I saw you leave hand in hand with him. Wait for me. I will come to your rescue soon enough."

As soon as she read the text message from Spencer, Fiona suddenly felt loved and protected. For the first time since she had been kidnapped, she finally felt at ease.

"I will be waiting for you. You should take care of yourself."

"Don't worry about me. As long as you're all right, I will be too. One more thing. Celine was also kidnapped with you that day. I wonder if you've seen her. I have to save both of you."

Upon reading the message, Fiona was shocked. She had been here for quite a while but she had had no idea that Celine had also been kidnapped. She had never seen her around. Besides, Celine was a designer of ZR Company. How could Charles kidnap her too? He was a monster.

"I'll try to find out if Celine is here. I'll text you after that."

"Don't do anything too risky. Right now, your safety is the biggest priority. I'll be coming to rescue you soon. I'm almost near the border of T Country now, but I can't give you any more information. Take good care of yourself."

"All right, go back safe."

As soon as she finished replying, there was a knock on the door.

Fiona swiftly put the phone back into her pocket and called out. "Come in."

"Miss Ji," Emily greeted, standing at the door. "Lunch has been prepared. Would you like to eat here or downstairs?"

"When will Charles be back?"

"He didn't say anything about his return. It seems that he won't be back for a while."

"Let's go downstairs then."

"Okay, I'll get the table ready," Emily replied courteously.

"All right." Fiona nodded. After Emily turned and went downstairs, Fiona sat on the bed thinking of Charles. She felt overwhelmed by the unwanted attention from him. Did Charles...like her? But that was ludicrous! In any case, she would never be with a man like him.

Anyway, seeing Spencer today had made her feel confident, so when she went downstairs, she ate a lot more food than usual. After lunch, Fiona wanted to take a walk outside to see if there was any sign of Celine in Cherry Grove Residence.

All the servants knew how Charles treated Fiona, so no one dared to oppose her. Besides, he had made it quite clear that he didn't want to hinder her freedom.
