Take Me Away novel Chapter 140

"Spencer, how are you?" Celine asked nervously as she hurried over to his bedside.

"What are you doing here?" Spencer still hadn't recovered from the shock as his body continued to quiver. A few fragments of memories flashed through his mind.

"What am I doing here?" Celine said sweetly before looking away shyly. She then added, "Hurry, get up from the floor!"

"How could this be?" Spencer lowered his head as he pulled his hair in vexation. He growled, "What the hell happened last night? What happened?"

"You don't remember?" Celine asked. "Last night, you got drunk. And then we slept together..."

Spencer looked dumbfounded. He felt as if his entire world was spinning. "Shut up! Shut up! Get out! Get out of here!"

Startled, Celine shrank back, looking as if she was about to cry. "Okay, okay. I'm leaving. Anyway, we both wanted it. I'm not asking for anything. I just want to spend one night with you and I'm satisfied with that!" She then slowly made her way to the bed.

"What? We both wanted it? What do you mean by that?" Spencer suddenly raised his head. His eyes were red with anger. "That's impossible!"

"Why not?" Turning to look at him, Celine continued, "Perhaps in your heart, you still love me. You probably don't love Fiona as much as you think. Don't you remember? Last night, you clearly knew who I was yet you still slept with me. I don't blame you, Spencer. I love you and I wanted to do it."

"Fuck off! Get out of here!" Spencer suddenly grabbed the pillow on the bed and threw it on the wall.

"I'm leaving but don't blame yourself, Spencer. I'm not asking for anything." Then she opened the door and left. As soon as she went out, Celine suddenly bent down and clutched her stomach. Her face twisted from the pain. Her stomachache felt odd, as if something was falling inside. She thought inwardly, 'No, baby, you can't...'

"Argh!" There was a sudden roar in the room. Spencer hit his bed with his fist in regret and anger.

He felt like an asshole. How could he do such a terrible thing? How could he have slept with Celine? How could he betray Fiona?

"You're not Fiona! Who the hell are you? Tell me!"

A memory flashed in his mind. All of a sudden, Spencer froze with his hand clutching his head. It turned out that what Celine had said was true. He knew who she was and yet he still...

Three days later, in the ward of the infirmary

Tick tock...

It was nearly noon when Fiona slowly opened her eyes. It took a while before she realized what was happening as a vague voice rang in her ears.

"Fiona, are you awake? Wake up!" A voice called anxiously in her ear. Fiona moved her stiff neck and noticed a man standing near her bed. "George?"

"It's me. How are you feeling, Fiona?"

"I'm fine. How long was I asleep?"

"You were out for three days. I was so scared. I didn't know about it until this morning. So I came to see you right away. They all tried to hide it from me." George smoothed Fiona's hair and asked, "Shall I call a doctor for you?"

"No, thanks." Fiona shook her head. When she saw George sitting on a wheelchair, she asked, "How're your legs, George?"

"Still the same." George smiled. "Don't mind me and my legs. What about you? How are you? Why did you leave the ward only to be sent back? I heard that Spencer sent you here like a madman that day. Once he finds out you're awake, he'll definitely come."

With a slight smile, Fiona replied, "Maybe."

When George noticed that Fiona didn't want to talk about Spencer, he carefully asked, "How are things between you and Spencer?"

"Nothing." Fiona shook her head. Hadn't she always been like that whenever it came to Spencer? They had been intimate with each other but they had never confessed their feelings to each other. Neither of them believed in each other but they lived together and saw each other every day.

Knock, knock, knock!

The door of the ward was pushed open. When the doctor saw that Fiona was awake, he smiled and said, "I estimated that you'd be up around this time. I knew it. So, how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine." Nodding her head slightly, the disappointment and sadness flashed across Fiona's eyes. Why didn't Spencer come?

"Mrs. Cheng, you should take it easy. You should control your temper. Your health is poor so you should be more careful. You're not just thinking about yourself anymore. You have to consider the life inside of you."

"What? What are you talking about?" Fiona asked in confusion

"Oops, I forgot to tell you. Congratulations, Mrs. Cheng." The doctor smiled. "You're pregnant! The baby's around seven to ten days old."

"Pregnant?" George repeated in utter shock. "What? Pregnant?"

"Yes." The doctor nodded.

"Oh, my God! That's great news!" Upon hearing this, George turned to look at Fiona and held her hand. He said excitedly, "Fiona, did you hear that? You're pregnant! You've really grown up! You're going to be a mother!"

Fiona opened her mouth slightly as she absentmindedly caressed her stomach. Her eyes became red all of a sudden. "George, I... I'm pregnant!"

"Yes, you're pregnant!" George took Fiona in his arms and rubbed her back. "Congratulations!" "Fiona!"

The door opened again!

This time it was Spencer who had come in.

"Mr. Cheng!"

"Spencer!" Then George let go of Fiona and said with a smile, "Congratulations!"

After a short pause, Spencer nodded and replied, "Thanks."

Fiona and Spencer met each other's gaze but neither of them said a word.

"You two must have something to talk about." George began wheeling his wheelchair out. "We should give you some privacy. We're leaving now."

"I'll head out too." The doctor considerately wheeled George out of the ward. As soon as they were gone, the room fell into a thick silence.

After a moment's silence, Fiona said, "I'm pregnant."

"I know." Spencer gritted his teeth as he spoke.

"Don't you have anything to say?" Fiona asked in a hopeful tone, quivering. She was going to give birth to a baby that was theirs. It was a magical feeling.

However, Spencer didn't answer her question. Instead, he asked, "Do you want to go back to M City?"

"M City? Yes, I do. I want to go back," Fiona said, looking up at him.

"I'll send someone to bring you back to M City in two days then," Spencer said.

"But..."

"Spencer!" The door was opened. It was Celine. Fiona was visibly surprised to see her but Celine didn't even glance at her. Celine had her eyes glued on Spencer. Smiling, she said, "Spencer, I found you!"

Spencer's heart skipped a beat. "What's up?" he asked in surprise.

"I have something to tell you." Turning to him, Celine grabbed his arm and said, "Follow me out, please."

"Why do we have to go outside?"

"Oh?" Raising her eyebrows, Celine responded, "Or do you want to talk here?"

Raising his eyebrows, Spencer replied, "Let's go."

"Spencer," Fiona suddenly blurted out. This was all she could manage to say. Why did it seem as if their relationship had changed in the past three days? Was he still suspicious of her because of the video? Was that why he was willingly going outside to talk to Celine in private? But what about the baby she was carrying?

With this in mind, Fiona bravely stood up and rushed out. 'How dare Celine do that to my face! Spencer is my husband! And the father of my child!' she angrily thought to herself.

This was the first time that she was going to do something that she was so sure of. This was also the first time that she was going to go after Spencer. This time, she finally made up her mind to get him back once and for all.

As if hit by an epiphany, Fiona bolted outside. There was no way that she was going to let Celine take Spencer away from her. 'Please don't leave me, Spencer,' she pleaded inwardly.

In the corridor, Spencer yanked Celine's hand away and asked, "What do you want to say?" Three days had already passed and this was the first time they were seeing each other again. The first time they had met after that night was in Fiona's ward. No matter what, he was going to do something about Celine. He couldn't let Fiona know the nasty thing he had done. There was no way in hell that was ever going to happen.

"I didn't want to bother you, Spencer. But..." Celine began choking as she sobbed. "It looks like I can't do this myself."

"What's wrong?" Spencer asked, frowning. He still didn't know how to face Celine. He couldn't be responsible for her but he also couldn't get rid of her.

"I think... I'm pregnant..."

Spencer felt as if he had been hit by a thunder.

Trembling, he asked, "What did you just say?"

"I think I'm pregnant," Celine said. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of a figure running towards them.

'She's pregnant?'

Fiona's face was white as a sheet. 'Celine's pregnant? What is she talking about?'

"That's impossible!" Spencer bellowed. "How could you be pregnant? It's only been three days! We only slept together three days ago! How could you know you're pregnant?"

"My period's already late!" Celine shouted. Suddenly, she blinked as if in shock. "Fiona? What are you doing here?"

Spencer's heart skipped a beat.

He stiffly turned only to find Fiona standing not too far away from him. She was covering her mouth and crying.

"Fiona..." Spencer called out her name lightly. He tried to approach Fiona.

"Stay back! "Get away from me!" Fiona yelled, tears streaming down her face.

'They slept together? They slept together when I was in a coma?' Fiona thought to herself. Her vision became blurry, slowly losing control. She felt as if she was about to faint.

No, she couldn't faint here!

Fighting the dizziness, Fiona stepped backward and shrieked, "You two make me sick!"
