The Alpha's Surprised Mate (Book #1 of Silver Moon Series) novel Chapter 136

One-Hundred Thirty-Five: Start with Plan B

Dustin

We let the girls know that we were not happy they took off again. Really we should be used to their shit by now. I think at this point it is more irritation than outright anger, but still. I mean they could have at least told us they were going to try and find Einyn’s dad. I did throw Mykenzie and Kylani a glare when Mykayla announced that we were going to Italy for our honeymoon. She told me not to argue and to deal with it. Wow, my woman put her foot down. I was still quite irritated with that, but it more turned me on when she stood her ground and was not going to take no for an answer.

“Get your ass to work! You have been slacking since I have not been here. This whole office is a fucking cluster.” Mykayla says to me.

She had just walked into my office. This was her first day back in the office since having the twins. I got a death glare when she walked into the office and saw the piles of shit lying around. She hates to be disorganized. She has spent all morning organizing.

“No, go back to your office Kaleb. He needs to concentrate.” She told Kaleb.

I have no idea how he got past her, but the look of terror on his face was priceless. He shut the door behind him and leaned against it.

“What in the hell crawled up her ass.” He asked.

“She saw the state of the office and lost her shit. You know how she likes to be organized. She told me it looks like a fucking hurricane went through this office. She was pissed.” I tell him.

My office phone started ringing at that moment. We both looked at each other. I hit the button for the speakerphone.

“If you don’t want sex cut off for a month I would suggest you get your sexy ass back to your office and leave Dustin alone.” Kylani states.

Then she hung up. We both stood there with our mouths right open. ThenI started laughing. She had recruited Kylani to get Kaleb out of my office.

“That is so not fair. I can’t believe she called Kylani. We are still going with plan b right.” He cries.

I am still laughing. Though I do tell him yes, we are starting with plan b. Then he walked out.

“I hate you.” I heard him say to Mykayla.

Mykayla walked in right then with a very smug look on her face. She was very proud of herself. I kept laughing. Well, until she threw me a glare, and I sat my ass down and got to work. By the end of the day, the office was back in order, and all my meetings and schedule were back in order as well. This is why I need her in this office. It was true this office was a disaster while she was gone.

“If this office or your schedule ever gets that fucked up again I am going to set you on fire.” She growls at me.

I nod my head that both scared me and turned me on at the same time. Especially when she flashed her eyes at me to make her point. I had to adjust myself before I walked out of the office. Now to get home and start with plan b. I want to avoid plan a, even if it is a good one.

Tyrell

“Ok, how do we go about this?” I ask.

We have decided to go with the plan to link Einyn’s mother. Now to figure out how to do that. I look at Chris because if someone knows how to do this, it should be him.

“I have no idea.” He admits.

Well great. Now what?

“I wonder if that’s why the girls did that the other night?” Josh asks.

I just stare at him. Seriously, of all people, he figures this shit out. We have been around them for millennia, and hell Chris is their brother and the human figures it out. We apparently have become too desensitized to the shit those two do.

“What does finding Einyn’s dad have to do with finding her mother?” Ashton asks.

“It means the connection will be stronger,” I tell him.

Blake and Xion come in carrying plates of sandwiches. Good, I am starving, as most of the guys are. We have been eating well lately. Araya has made herself home in the kitchen. Damn, that girl can cook. All of us have been more than encouraging too. We are doing everything to avoid Draydon and Nigel’s plan. That whole plan is just a nightmare. It has "this is a bad" idea written all over it. I

“So I guess we wait and see if Trent shows up?” I ask.

“No we can try with just Einyn, but having him would be better,” Chris admits.

“She is gonna have to shift again,” Donte says.

“I really don’t want her shifting unless it is necessary. I am seriously concerned the wrong person is gonna see her and then they will come for her.” Dustin tells us.

Yeah, that is a worry we all have. If that happened, then that is going to start a chain reaction. I wonder if whatever they did reached Trent. I think I might actually know where he is. If he searched for the warlock, they obviously had a meeting place. I wonder if the place where the body was found was the meeting place. I wonder if Trent is the one that took the warlock’s body and did something with it.

“Where was the warlock’s body found.?” I ask.

“We found it in a cave on the coast of Ireland. When we went back to get it, it was gone,” Tye says.

Yup, I have a very good idea where Trent is. I doubt he would have left since that was his last link to Einyn. He wouldn’t know where to go past that. Even if Tye went there, he doesn’t have a scent, thanks to Mykenzie and Kylani. To Ireland, we go.

Tarlek

How Tyrell always talks me into this shit is beyond me. He might be my best friend but seriously, why here. He told me this morning to dress warmly and bring an umbrella. Of course, I gave him a look like he had lost his damn mind. I am pretty sure he has.

“Why in the hell are we here?” I ask.

It’s rainy and fucking cold. It might be a beautiful, nice, green country, but there is no way I could live here. I need the sun and less rain.

“I am positive Trent is here. I think this is where he and the warlock were supposed to meet. I think he was the one that found and got rid of the body.” He explains to me.

Ok, at least now this whole trip makes sense. I still don’t want to be here, but I like the reason behind it. We start looking in the general area where Tye said the body was. We have been looking for like an hour.

“We are getting nowhere,” I complain.

“I know. We need a tracker.” He says.

I know that Onyx is the best tracker, but we are trying to avoid the animals. Then it hits me, Liam. He is the best tracker in the pack. I tell Tyrell I will be back and get my ass back to the pack fast. I take myself straight to Liam’s house.

“Fuck Tarlek.” He gasps.

“Sorry, I need your help,” I tell him.

I explain what Tyrell and I are up to. I know he is sceptical; I can see it in his eyes. I tell him that Tyrell is positive that Trent is there, but we can’t find him. I tell him why we need him.

“I had better not get turned into something by my daughter - in - law.” He states.

“She won’t do anything to you. I promise. She might do something to Tyrell and me.” I tell him.

“Ok let’s go. Do we have anything with his scent or something on it?” He asks.

“He will smell like Einyn. Unicorns have a family scent so one family tends to have a similar scent. You know what she smells like right?” I explain.

He nods at me, and we are off. Of course, when we get there, he vomits. It was his first time travelling like us. Tyrell is surprised to see him. I explain this to Tyrell, and he thinks it’s a fantastic idea. After Liam’s stomach returns to normal, we get down to business. The three of us had been walking around for half an hour when Liam picked up a faint scent. Things picked up after that. He led us to a lake. I didn’t see anywhere a person could like it. There were no caves or homes of any kind. I couldn’t figure out why the scent would lead here.

“He is using magic or something to hide,” Tyrell says.

That makes perfect sense. Liam kept leading us closer to a thick area of trees and foliage. I know he has to be in there. Now how to get him to come out?

“Trent we know you are there. We have your daughter.” I announced.

Nothing that is what we heard. Both Tyrell and Liam gave me a very unimpressed look. Then we heard it, the bushes moving, and a twig snapped. Then out of the densely wooded area came Trent.
