The Alpha's Surprised Mate (Book #1 of Silver Moon Series) novel Chapter 151

One-Hundred Fifty: Update

Kaleb

The newlyweds had been back for a couple of days now, and Dustin wanted an update on anything that had happened. So we all (girls included) meet at Marcus’s and Jason’s place. We are currently waiting for the girls to get their asses here.

“What is taking them so long?” Josh groans.

“You realize we are talking about women right?” Mitchell says.

“You want to spit out another sexist comment, pussycat?” Bryn asks.

“Here kitty kitty.” Jailynn smirks.

The look that Mitchell shoots Bryn and Jailynn is impressive. I couldn’t have but laugh as the scene played out. That was some of the funniest shit I have heard in a while. The girls take a seat. I started to tell Dustin that really not much had happened. I let him know that it has been calm around here. I had to let him know that Asmoday has a few goons watching the pack.

“So far they are staying well away from the borders. They do make it a point to let the border guards see them.” Brighton says.

“How long have they been watching?” Dustin asks.

“Only the last two or three days.” I answer.

I can tell by the look on his face that he is not happy about this. There was no reason to say anything while he was on his honeymoon. They are just sitting out there watching. I don’t even think they are looking for weakness in the border guards. They literally just sit and watch. I let him know that is really the most exciting thing that has happened. This is actually the calmest it has been around here in the last two to three years.

“Besides the normal drama nothing has happened,” I tell him.

We all look at each other because that is somewhat concerning. It makes me wonder what they are up to. I would almost rather them try to attack the pack than just sit there and watch us. I know they are looking for someone. I am pretty sure I know who they want, but there is no way that we will let them get their hands on them.

“What should we do about them?” Seth asks.

“Right now nothing. They are just watching. Plus they are outside the border in neutral land so we have no right.” Dustin replies.

“However, saying that if any of you girls want to go anywhere of the territory you need to have one of us with you.” Dustin points out.

I can already feel Kylani (who is sitting in my lap) building up to fight back. I can see Mykenzie doing the same thing. I look at Dustin, and he can see the fight starting in their eyes.

“Don’t even start. You two are the ones they want more than any other. However, I know you don’t need bodyguards. All I ask is if any one of you women want to go into town or wherever to go in a group. They are hopefully less likely to try anything when there are a few of you together.” Dustin explains.

I don’t think either of them believes him. Kylani is still tense as hell in my lap. I know she wants to fight, but I give her a snack on her hip, and she grumbles something under her breath. We continued with the conversation, which was going well until the girls decided to tell us something we had no idea about.

Mykayla

We thought it would be a good thing to tell the guys about what I felt in Greece. They have always wanted us to be truthful with them. After their reaction, I am not sure we should be telling everything anymore.

“You felt like someone was watching you?” Dustin asks.

“Yeah, but just the last two or three days that we were there. But I never saw anyone.” I answer.

“The only time I felt that way was when we were outside of the house,” I explain.

“If that is the case then whoever it was knew they couldn’t step onto our land without being sensed.” Chris states.

Well, that doesn’t make me feel any better. Was someone really watching me? Ok, now I am getting the creeps. Who and why? I begin to get the chills. This is not the stuff I wanted to know when we told the guys about this.

“Don’t worry we have Demeter looking into it,” Kylani says.

They explained that they sent some clothes with Darrius’s and Thomas’s scents over to Demeter so his trackers could scent them if they showed up near their land. They also sent some of Asmoday and Vepar’s clothes as well for the same reason. They explain how they got a hand on the clothes.

“Have they picked up anything?” Dustin asks.

“No, Demeter says if they are around then it is some of his goons.” Mykenzie states.

I hope they get a scent on them soon. I hate to think they are still out there watching us. The fact that they were doing this on my honeymoon pisses me off. That was supposed to be our happy time. How dare they try to ruin that.

Brandon

I decided on my own to go to Italy and Greece and take a look around myself. The fact that he is sending his goons means that he knows that we are onto him and his little friends. I know why Darrius and Thomas are lying low. They need time to learn about the land if they are really in this area. What they don’t realize is that these lands are our homes. This is where we grew up and know it better than anyone. We also have a shit ton of contacts, and everyone here is allied with us. Hell, even the mafia works with us. We will literally know they have stepped foot on the ground before they realize it. I decided to visit some of my contacts.

“It’s been a while, my friend,” I tell him.

“Yes, it has. We have been watching for them and so far no one by that description has surfaced.” Nikoli replies.

“I figured as much. He has been sending his goons.” I say.

I tell him that we believe he has a few islands he travels between. Nikoli promises to keep an eye out and says that he has people looking into the islands around and who might own them. I tell him good and let him know that I will be back soon. I really miss this area.
